“My family and I went here for a celebration and we had the best dining experience we have ever had in Gainesville. To start, the food was super delicious, came out fast, and felt extremely fresh. The restaurant was extremely pretty and really cool to explore and look at all of the sports-related pieces they have on display. It almost felt like a little museum! The best part: the service! Our waitress Allyssa was the sweetest, funniest, most generous waitress we have ever had. She added to our celebration and made us feel special! Make sure you make reservations for this place while you are in Gainesville because it isn't a place you want to miss!“

“When you walk in, it is a bit off-putting if you're going for dinner. At first glance, when you walk in, it looks like dark dive bar. Don't get me wrong, I love a dive bar! Just not as a dinner spot. I was wrong!!! The food was completely amazing!!! The truffle fries are a MUST!! So good!! The wings, I got Thai Cilli, were the best! Biggest wings I've had in awhile! “I absolutely love box car. It is the perfect chill place to go on a pretty weekend day. You can walk around the park, grab a drink, grab a pizza from Humble Woodfire, and enjoy! My favorite thing on their menu is the white sangria. It is SO amazing. Not too sweet. It has a citrusy vibe that makes it really light and refreshing. The red sangria is amazing as well. They have a great selection of IPAs and other beers too. I seriously miss living by this place so much.“

High Dive Bar • $$
210 SW 2nd Ave, Gainesville

“Great experience seeing Honey Revenge, Pollyanna, Colorblind, and Wreckless Giants. Wonderful concert for a good price. The drinks were solid with good prices for a bar. Would definitely recommend this little hole in the wall if you're in Gainesville. My ONLY complaint is the parking. Maybe it's just because of how popular Honey Revenge is getting, but I would love more options to park at around this location, which I know is not High Dive's fault. The parking lot isn't great, but I'm sure that's enough space for their usual amount of traffic. The bartenders were very pleasant. Good experience.“

Ole Barn Bar • $
1791 NE 23rd Ave, Gainesville

“Bar is a bit primitive, selling mostly 12oz bottled drinks (people brought their own cozies!) and snax in bags. One very nice ? table. No one was using it so we played one game. Pinball. There were some lit up machines that were possibly Florida lottery terminals. There were two large friendly dogs. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and there were several earnest discussions ongoing. In short, an archtypical sort of cozy local meeting place one would like to frequent. In contrast, Satchel's, across the street, seems sterile and commercial.Non-smokers might be inclined to strip, throw the clothes in the washer and shower on returning home.“

“Drinks were amazing and food was very good. They were also respectful of my service dog. Things were going great. Apps and drinks came out timely. We did have to ask our server twice for water but hey, we're human no big deal...the issue we came to wasn't with our server directly, it was the wait time on our entrees. I'm not the type to time so I don't know exactly how long we waited but it was definitely longer than it should have been. It would have been nice if our server would have come over and checked on us or said something. Just awkward.“

Our waiter was okay, she wasn’t too friendly or attentive.I ordered the quesadilla that comes with chipotle sauce and it was pretty good. It was pretty messy and hard to eat. The rice was really good but the refried beans weren’t my favorite. My boyfriend ordered the birria tacos and he liked them but it wasn’t too big of a portion size in my opinion.
