“This is going to be emotional for me.. My Dad grew up in St. Pete. We vacationed there every year, because it’s where he’s from and at the time, my grandmother was still alive and lived there as well. We never missed a summer. Coming here was part of that tradition. Even as an adult, my Dad and I made it a tradition to head down to St. Pete, and we would eat here a few times and take some Smoked Mackerel home with us. In the summer of 2021, we made our yearly trip down. Oddly, something felt different about this trip. My mom had left us when I was 3, so it had always just been my Dad and I. On our way out, we stopped to get something to eat and to grab some to go. Sitting there in our favorite restaurant, I told my Dad how thankful I was for him and the relationship we had. We talked about things we’ve never talked about. We talked about my mom and he wanted to make sure he did enough throughout the years. We both learned a lot that day. That was July of 2021. My Dad passed away from ALM Leukemia on November 29, 2021. That was our last trip together. I haven’t been back since but I want to. Thank you for being the greatest memory I shared with my Dad and a part of our story. Lord knows I miss the Smoked Mackerel ❤️“

We were worried about businesses being open after all the damage but we were really pleasantly surprised. Beach Waves had excellent food - hot, fresh, tasty and cold drinks. Sara, our bartender on a Saturday afternoon, was great! The locals are hospitable and friendly. 10/10 would highly recommend!“

“Walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile by Malcom who helped us choose the best options. I so wanted to try the gizzards but they were sold out-they must be good! We had the garlic snow crab platter and had them spice it up a bit, so buttery and flaky. We also tried the garlic shrimp platter which had plenty of large shrimp and both had delicious butter soaked potatoes and corn on the cob too. Then we had the fried catfish with seasoned fries. This is a take out only location and all the better for it. When we picked up our order we got to meet "Little Pompey" who was rang us up and thanked us for our business. Any platter you choose Snow Crab, Blue Crab, Shrimp will be worth it just ask for a little heat if you like it!“

“We were Familiar with PJ's in St. Pete Beach, which is currently closed due to the hurricanes. So we tried this one. Menus are near the same with a few exceptions. We started out with Nicole at the bar and I had a mojito and a dozen ? oysters. They come from the east coast and were great and also had a mojito. She got grouper nuggets also wonderful. She won't drink anything except Budweiser in a bottle and I had a mojito. The menu says baked potato not available until after 5pm but the shift changed and Jeannine our replacement server said oh yeah you can get baked ? now. They are ready. So I then ordered Chicago Grouper with baked ? and coleslaw and a mojito. She decided to go with Jeanine's recommendation the baked scallops instead of the crab cakes with a baked ? and coleslaw and I got a mojito. We both liked the coleslaw and the baked potatoes were great. Now the Chicago Grouper was absolutely the ? knee's to me and then I tried her scallops. She never eats her full portion. She did tonight and I had a mojito. Only complaint is the bill was a little stiff. But we ate like ? and Lil Princess oh and I had another Mojito. I think I set some sort of new record for the amount of those one can drink in a night, when generally I have about 1 a year. Anyways we had a great night with great staff and other local customers and definitely recommend the foods we tried along with mojito. This is a top place for us now that we live just down the road. Although not sure I need another mojito anytime soon.“

“My experience at Frenchy's was AMAZING! My son and his best friend came to visit from Texas last week for my sons and my birthdays. They are from the panhandle, so there no seafood for hundreds of miles, haha. My husband loves seafood as well. However, I have a severe shellfish allergy, so needless to say, he doesn't get to eat it often. I messaged Frenchy's a month or so prior and explained the situation, and they were so great in explaining how they treat patrons with allergies. Jules (i hope i remember this correctly! We were there about 9pm on 9/11/24) was our server, and she was awesome! She was so understanding and assured me that they would take all precautions. I ordered a cheeseburger with a side salad, and my family was able to enjoy their fresh seafood meal, and there was no anxiety on anyone that night. ❤️ They even have a working menu for gluten-free folks, which tells me that they really are trying to accommodate everyone. I am so excited that my husband and I now have a local restaurant with fresh seafood and plenty of options for me to go to for date night or any other time! Thank you so so so much, Frenchy! Jules is an awesome server, and she was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure our night was the best. “What a walk down memory lane this is!!! We haven’t been to Bobby’s Bistro, or its more upscale sister restaurant the Beachcomber in years. Twenty years ago, these two restaurants were the absolute “It” place, the best in Tampa. Amazingly, the decor is exactly the same as 20 years ago but somehow doesn’t look dated at all. The food was fantastic. We met George, our server, who is a bit of a celebrity, and he was super nice and gave me a supersized shot! Glad to give this notable establishment a great review!“
