“My wife and I arrived on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 at 2:30 and found the place empty except for an older couple (like us) sitting at the bar which we sat at as well. We were greeted by Kalen who was bartender/waiter and was happy to share the history of his family restaurant. We have been displaced New Englanders for close to ten years and know good seafood and UNTIL TODAY was convinced it was never going to be found in Florida! We ordered two beers after taste testing four or five of their micro brews. Ordered two Clam Chowders , a Clam Basket (with bellies, which are non-existent in Florida), and a Lobster Roll, (Maine Style, which means "cold") and one of their famous Maine Whoopie Pies all for under a hundred dollars! FLORIDA , IF YOU WANT TO TASTE WHAT REAL SEAFOOD SHOULD TASTE LIKE....THIS IS THE PLACE! It is not an easy place to find but we will be back with all our New England friends that is for sure!“

I felt compelled to write this because exceptional service and exceptional food deserve to be recognized.
My family and I have been vacationing in St. Pete Beach for the past six years, and one tradition we never miss is a visit to Shrimpy's. What's remarkable is that every single year we come back, the food somehow gets even better. Most restaurants struggle to maintain consistency over time, but Shrimpy's continues to raise the bar year after year.
From the moment we walked through the door until the moment we left, everything was absolutely top-notch. Our server, Jake, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another table. Great servers can make a meal memorable, and Jake certainly did that.
Now let's talk about the food.
I have eaten seafood all over Florida and throughout the country, and I can honestly say that Shrimpy's serves some of the finest Cajun-style seafood I have ever had. Every dish was cooked to perfection, seasoned flawlessly, and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the seafood was obvious from the first bite, and the chefs clearly take tremendous pride in what they do.
What impressed me most was that nothing felt rushed, pre-made, or ordinary. Every plate that came to our table looked incredible and tasted even better. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the kitchen and the front-of-house staff perform at such a high level, but Shrimpy's has mastered both.
John John, you have built something special. The fact that my family has returned for six straight years—and that we leave more impressed each time than the year before—says everything that needs to be said. Outstanding servers, phenomenal chefs, a welcoming atmosphere, and food that keeps people talking long after they leave.
In my opinion, this isn't just the best seafood restaurant on St. Pete Beach—it's the best Cajun seafood restaurant I've ever experienced anywhere.
If you're looking for authentic Cajun seafood done right, stop searching and go to Shrimpy's. Five stars isn't enough.
We'll absolutely be back next year, just like we've been for the last six years.
And one final piece of advice for anyone reading this review: save room for the bread pudding. Trust me. Just when you think the meal can't get any better, the bread pudding shows up and delivers the perfect ending to an already unforgettable meal.

“We ate here 2 nights while staying on the beach this week. The hummus and flatbread along with their house salad for a starter was sooo good. The coconut shrimp was good and the coconut curry snapper was the best fish I have ever tasted and I grew up in Florida. The thing that will make us come back frequently though was the food and menu selection. The menu isn’t huge but has a lot of different options. The food was so good. Everything was fresh & hot. Our group had pasta, shrimp, fish and beach nachos, and cocktails & everyone loved their food. I loved the Palm Pavillion and it made me sad to see a change but this is a great place. The bar messed up 2 of our 5 drinks, which the waitress had remade and apologized saying the got a rush. All the food (conch platter, seafood pasta, crab legs, 4oz filet, and fresh vegetable pasta) was yummy and came old hot and well seasoned, though the steak was overcooked (ordered medium) Would have been 5 stars, but our waitress took 40 minutes to simply get us our checks and run our cards😅“
