“We stopped by over the weekend only because we were too early to be where we needed to be. My youngest daughter has cancer and wasn’t really feeling well. We were sat at a table, thought everything was fine, but she didn’t want the chairs (hip surgery, legs were hurting) So we asked for a high chair and still no, then a booth and she was finally comfortable! I was so overwhelmed but the young women working were being so sweet and without even a second look they were accommodating. We thought our girl wouldn’t eat, but she asked for bacon and she said it was the best bacon! All of our food was amazing, even though we had to speed eat to get to where we needed to be. I really couldn’t be more thankful and appreciative for how we were treated, I was at my breaking point and ended up leaving with a very happy family. Thank you!“

“This was my first time eating at J. Alexander and I was so pleased with everything about this place. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a group of 10 of us celebrating the birthday of one in the group. Our server Misty was awesome, she was so helpful and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with everything we ordered. Now to the food, WOW!!! everyone enjoyed the steaks, crab cakes, salads, warm bread with butter, celantro shrimp and to top it off the warm carrot cake with cream cheese icing. Yum,Yum. “Pros: When we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated (though we didn’t have a reservation, which the hostess asked us about). As for the atmosphere, it’s a pretty intimate and chill vibe with good music. The food came out hot and fast. My husband ordered a Smash Burger and I got a Fried Green Tomato Sandwich (which I’ve never had, but the sauce made it taste even more amazing). Our waitress was attentive (though she was juggling bartending AND waitressing), and the bus person was equally polite and focused. For the amount of food we got, the price wasn’t bad.

“We sat in the outdoor patio along with other happy patrons celebrating the end of the work week. The staff are all friendly and fast on their feet! The restaurant has the feel of an informal gathering place but the food and drink are all very good and served in good time. It fits in nicely with the 5 Points ambience.“

“Basically good food but last night they ran out of biscuits at dinner time. Waitress said 30-45 minutes for some to cook. Wife had the turkey and dressing special but the turkey look it was a loaf type turkey breast. Waitress was excellent and apologetic about the meal. Will eat there again probably next week.“

We came for lunch one day: we shared the crab cake (highly recommend) and tuna crackers (soooooo good). I had the beet and goat cheese salad, I’m obsessed. We came back the next day and had breakfast; the country omelette is fantastic! We tried the lavender French 75, which was recommended by the server, it was super refreshing and a cute twist on a classic. My personal favorite was the blueberry margarita! The Brick is gem!“

“I truly enjoyed my first time at any of Tibits' locations. I had a 1/2 Ruben with Chicken, Rice, and Sausage Gumbo combo. I was very impressed with the Chicken, Rice, and Sausage Gumbo. “We were looking for a place to have Brunch and a lady outside of the restaurant gave us a Menu and invited us to enter. She took care of us and recommended The Scallops, the huevos rancheros, and the ribeye, we really enjoyed a wonderful meal, the atmosphere and the kind waitress. We can not wait to try other dishes“

“We visited River & Post last night for the first time for a birthday dinner after hearing so many good things, and I can honestly say the praise was very well deserved. Everything from the quality and timeliness of our meals to the friendly, informative and attentive servers were exceptional, which sadly is not a common trait in upscale restaurants. I had the Broiled Ocean Platter which consisted of broiled mahi, three sea scallops and four large shrimp served in a citrus herb beurre blanc sauce, whipped potatoes and beautiful crisp tender veggies. All of my entre ingredients were cooked perfectly, the buttery lemon sauce was such a nice compliment to this dish and let all the distinct flavors of each seafood component shine. Too often sauces can be overpowering and used to moisten overcooked and flavorless seafood. I’m glad I opted out of a predinner salad or appetizer as this entre is very substantial and I wanted to save some room for dessert. My husband also very much enjoyed his choice of the Seared Filet Mignon served a mustard demi-glace, confit potatoes and sauteed broccolini. The steak was perfectly prepared to his medium rare request and he raved about how flavorful it was. Both of our meals arrived hot, beautifully plated, and we devoured them completely. Then the decision came for dessert. Since we were sharing, we opted for the wonderfully decadent Chocolate Mousse Torte. This torte could easily be called “Death by Chocolate” due to its intense deep chocolate flavor which had a more silken fudge like consistency than a typical fluffy mousse, but still seemed surprisingly light as the chocolate just melted in our mouths. The torte was served with a chocolate drizzle, freshly whipped cream and plump blackberries. What a wonderful finish to this birthday dinner! Thank you, R&P, for this great dining experience. We’ll definitely be back, and we won’t be waiting for the next birthday to do so.“
