“You know a place is legit when it serves beverages in old plastic glasses, has actual hot sauce options, and the walls are wood paneling that looks like it hasn't been updated since the 80's.Our portions gave us leftovers for a couple days, and the beef and pork were both incredibly flavorful and tender. Genuinely the best meal we had on Key West.“
“We saw a recommendation to try this place out for breakfast and we're so glad we did. The Rooster breakfast was fantastic, make sure you add on the flavor pancakes. My bf had blueberry, I had pecan. They were both good, but we preferred pecan. And make sure you have key lime pie. Who cares if it's breakfast.“
“BIG food, good food, delicious. If you are looking at all, then go here. It's a food truck not far from the main tourist drag. We got food and then drove over to the water to eat with a view. Make sure you have lots of napkins and utensils! We had the sweet plantains with cheese and crema. OMG, over the top deliciousness. Other plantains will have trouble living up to these. We also had a burger and chicken chacapa. Oh, it was good, the sauces are delicious, too.We made two full meals from all our food. The young lady working was so nice, talkative and informative. A sit down restaurant has nothing on this. Fresh made and did I mention ample size servings?I'd love to say we'll be back but it has to wait for our next trip to Key West. In the meantime, I leave the place for you to enjoy.Parking: We were able to pull in directly in front of the food truck, but there is parking in a lot or on the street easily.“
“After making our reservation for the wrong day we showed up to no table for us. We were graciously offered bar seating and it actually turned out better than table service. This meal was far and away the best meal we had during our week in Key West. From the appetizer to the entree to the desert to the wine recommendation, everything was spectacular. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was top notch. Just a spectacular and memorable meal.“
“Old school vibe with the Man himself at the helm in the kitchen, we had a party of 6 unannounced, and we were HUNGRY...Gents handled our orders without issue and even had Mama or Auntie come in for backup and IT WAS DELICIOUS. Expect us back again, Mo...?? ?“
“This place is small with a little inside seating and more outside seating. The food is delicious! The orange juice is fresh squeezed and delicious! I had the steak egg and cheese wrap with hasbrown inside it was so good. I like to eat and I got through half and was stuffed out of my mind! Fresh avocado steak cheese eggs hashbrowns all wrapped and grilled! Don't miss this place for the best breakfast!“
“We stumped into The Jerk after another restaurant we wanted to try had closed early. We are glad it did close because food at The Jerk was fantastic. Both of us got the jerk chicken with various sides. Both trays came out loaded with meat and sides and we couldn’t even finish our food. The jerk chicken had a great flavor and was real moist. The jerk bbq sauce was a great compliment to it.This restaurant sits right off of Durval Street and is a nice quiet place to eat. Highly recommend going here if you’re in the area and want good food for a reasonable price.“
“Went for brunch and had a Southernmost Omelet it was very good with toast & island potatoes. We enjoyed the Traditional Bloody Mary & it was delicious. Our waiter was very good & we enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere. Go visit & see for yourself!“
“I recently stopped by the bar here for a drink and encountered a hiccup with their credit card system. However, bartender Sean stepped up and made the experience unforgettable.Despite the glitch, Sean remained cool and collected, handling the situation with ease. And he kept the atmosphere light with his friendly banter. What really stood out was Sean's genuine care for his customers. He went out of his way to ensure everyone was taken care of, checking in regularly and offering a helping hand where needed.Beyond his excellent customer service, Sean's drinks were spot on. He mixed up some fantastic cocktail and overall, despite the technical snag, Sean's stellar service turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a memorable one. Kudos to Sean for going above and beyond“
“Enjoyable dining experience on Duval St!! I tried multiple dishes including the Ahi Tuna Nachos, Conch Fritters, Shrimp Po Boy and Key West Loaded Pineapple! All the dishes were fantastic with the special shout out to the Key Lime Aioli which was served with the Conch Fritters. (There are Six loaded chips in the Ahi Tuna Nachos plate)“
“We used to be patrons of Kaya’s at their former location, and miss them immensely. Our first trip to their KW location and we are happy to see the same faces in charge (after years, no less) with the same level of energy and openness, and also very happy to find the quality of the food has been retained and even refined. Excellent cuisine and a good value, and their new location has several different spaces from a bar to outside courtyards so you can find an ambiance that suits you. Excellent happy hour also available 4-6 I believe, with half price apps and drinks. We had their famous (to us) jerk wings and they are awesome, and coconut shrimp were also meaty and tasty and so much flavor added by way of a tasty side sauce. We shared fish tacos as the main and they were excellent, both the fish and the accompaniments in the taco. We never get dessert but sprung for an ice cream pie called the Hulu Girl, it disappeared in a quiet frenzy (didn’t want the ice cream to melt!). Drinks were reasonable and very varied. Highly recommend and I hope we can still get a seat next time! We went on a very windy weekday at around 5:30. Kudos Kaya Island Eats, so happy for you!“
