It’s quaint by appearances, but still has touches of personality. There was only one table seated, so I sat at the bar and ordered the oxtail. Sadly, they were out. But I take this as a good sign because you only ever run out if it’s excellent. I also believe sometimes restaurants get known for something, but there are likely other things on their menu that are underrated, so I asked the gentleman behind the bar. He recommended the fish, chicken, or goat, based on my original craving. After some discussion I eventually landed on the snapper. I’m guessing this is a bit of a mom and pop establishment because the same man began preparing my meal!

Now I’m not normally one to order fish, but let me tell you… this is by far one of the best meals I’ve EVER had. Truly. And I’ve eaten at a LOT of places. It ties with a Michelin-star restaurant I dined at in Sicily. Where that restaurant may have taken points with ambiance/ service, Mo’s takes the points in flavor—hands down.

I felt like the food critic in Ratatouille when he takes his first bite of Remy’s ratatouille and remembers all those happy memories and why he loves food. I’m not even kidding.

The slightly smoky flavor of the snapper—and I had no idea a fish could be flakey and juicy at the same time like that. The seasonings on the rice and beans, and the perfectly cooked fresh veggies. He asked if I liked spicy food and suggested adding a little bit of the spicy Cole-slaw, and man was that sooo good to pair it with. It’s spicier than you’d think by the looks of it, but the acid from the slaw cut and paired so nicely with the fattiness of the fish. This meal genuinely made me so happy.

Like I said, I eat out a lot but I rarely leave a review anymore because everything is wholesale bought from US Foods or the other distributor I can’t remember. It’s all the same these days and it’s all so boring. Not Mo’s.

I will definitely be back, and I’ll come a little earlier in the day so I can try the oxtail.“

“The restaurant is located right on the front of the key to the west and affords a great spot to watch the sunset. The staff were attentive and the food tasted great. The restaurant itself is new modern and has great rest rooms. We had the surf and turf for $48 and both the steak and the lobster were cooked to perfection. Def recommend this place. We had the perfect pina colada priced at $10 a drink which was strong and delicious. My tip book the place for sunset watch the magnificent view with a great drink in your hands.“

“I scoped out this place before traveling here as I love Jerk chicken ! This place did not disappoint ! Very casual and about 8 stools - but the food was spectacular! The ox tail were beyond amazing - the jerk chicken was delicious along with rice and beans and the festivals ( like fried dough pieces ) So good you will not be disappointed !!“
