“My name is Cody and I don't always do reviews but i like this place so much I had to a review. I had the lobster mac and cheese. My pops had 3 tacos with seafood. My uncle had a I believe was a fish wrap. The food was amazing mmmmmm hats off to the chief. The drinks were great, good mixture. Margarita was good. The price for seafood and the amazing food was surprising. Our Waitress Mikayla was great made sure we were happy and has a great laugh. They have TV's might be going here for nfl sports.“

When my husband picked up the food, he said we’ve got to go back. You’ll love the place. I’m not sure who answered the phone, but we dealt with him twice and I really have not seen that type of Customer service in a long time.“

Calamari- so good! Probably the best I've had. T
It was tender, flavorful, light and crispy with a delicious marinara for dipping. Highly recommend!

Filet kabobs- cooked to medium, very tender. The sauce was very good.

Steak and fries- large portion of steak, cooked to medium rare, very tender and juicy. Came with shoestring fries.

new York strip- cooked to medium rare, also perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Came with macaroni and cheese.

Cypress salad - great salad with friend chicken. I ordered both ranch and white wine vinaigrette on the side and dipped each bite. Very filling!

Macaroni n cheese- i think the secret ingredient is cream cheese (I'm guessing). Its very rich and cheesy and has a bit of tang to it, hence my cream cheese guess.

Key lime pie- AMAZING! The crust and the filling are both divine!

Carrot cake- oh my! Also AMAZING!

If you're stuffed after dinner, definitely order desserts to go.

“I was invited to join 4 friends for lunch today. What an interesting and enjoyable place. We had reservations (3 are members), and arriving early we enjoyed the wine tasting. What a great way to try new wines without having to buy a bottle and hating it. We all ordered different lunch items and sampled each others food. Everything was fabulous. Wine, food and service. “Deli-Licious has some of the best sandwiches around! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made to order. The bread was soft, the ingredients tasted high quality, and the portions were generous. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great sandwich!“

“My favorite place since I tried 2 months ago, I’ll go for lunch almost everyday, mostly Boca and Wellington. Im fasting so it’s the most tasty nutritious food I’ve got. The staff is amazing and the cleanliness even in bathrooms is top. I always get the small bowl and always ask for a bonus 1/2 spoon of beans and they always give it with a big smile, not this time. Today I tried the Alton one, I had high expectations. First impression was that it was weird starting the line backwards from the right. The operator was friendly but not when I asked for a tin of beans, 1/4 spoon the most… She said no and she wanted to sell me a cup as an extra. I declined, was rude, then I see the line dirty, stuff looked cold. The other operator was afraid to serve too much shrimp and the feta he spread it crumble by crumble, I was amazed of his skills. Those 2 company money savers fighting for the employee of the month. One thing I like at Bolay is to grab my metal good solid forks, this time I couldn’t, not available. The food was tasty as usual but the temperatures were inconsistent, the colds not too cool and the hots warms. Then after sitting the trash overflowing and dirty bowls piling up were a view that you can’t stop looking at it, under my table on the floor smashed veggies. When I’m leaving I’m looking at the other stations and look the same. I avoided use the bathrooms at that point to wash hands as usual. It wasn’t a staff shortage issue, plenty of labor, customer line clear. These guys went through the pick of rush in lunch time with not interval cleanings. So disappointing see that awesome concept lowing the bar so bad. At the end is all management. Not going back there, I mean, that one in Alton but people, you definitely gotta try it somewhere else and get hook by them. Wellington and Boca In Military staff is the best. Hope Alton improve.“

“I brought my kids here for breakfast, and honestly, it turned out to be such a nice little family morning. The place had a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, which is always a big plus when you’re dining with kids. It didn’t feel too noisy or rushed, so we were able to sit down, enjoy the food, and actually take our time.

The kids went straight for the pancakes, and they absolutely loved them. They were soft, fluffy, and came out looking really good. My youngest surprised me and ordered the avocado toast, and she was all over it. She kept saying how good it was, so I guess that’s a win lol. As for me, I was definitely in the mood for something heavy, so I went with the country fried steak omelet. That thing was no joke. It was filling, flavorful, and exactly the kind of breakfast that keeps you full for hours.

The staff was also really friendly and patient with us, especially with the kids taking their sweet time deciding what they wanted. Service was smooth, our food came out fresh, and everyone left happy. Overall, it was a solid breakfast spot and definitely somewhere I’d bring the family back to again.“

I was greeted by a pleasant young lady, I believe her name was Bella. After explaining that I’m not a huge bbq fan, she recommended I try the pulled pork w Mac cheese, saying it has a lot of flavor but too much smoke. She was 100% correct and I enjoyed every bite. I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area, and will look forward to other suggestions from her or your staff. Great experience.“

After attending and judging many BBQ competitions across the USA (Lenexa NBQ, American Royal, Memphis in May among others), Ms. Smokey’s is right up there with the best. “Obviously, not every item at every restaurant is equal. If you want a tasty New York strip and loaded baked potato with asparagus, Boonies is the best kept secret in the area. The cheeseburger at medium or medium well is good as well. I don't like not having a choice of all-flats in wings, but you can't win them all. The beer is nice and cold. The bar area is nicely sized. The wait staff are friendly and attentive. If you go there a couple of times, they remember what you like. The music is sometimes a bit too much of that senseless type of rock from the early 90's but it's mostly decent music. Boonies is a reliable place to get a good lunch at a very fair price.“

She helped me in menu choices and was pleasant and knowledgeable. She was very attentive making sure I was taken care of and even answered some questions I had of the area. We had an enjoyable conversation with the manager and bartender...both very nice guys. Going back after the holidays for a Sunday brunch. We live in the Acreage, and were very lucky to have this place in the neighborhood.“
