“It's a little hard to find because it's not where you would expect a restaurant to be in warehouses, but it was definitely worth the scavenger hunt. I was expecting a long wait based on the reviews. However, my food started coming out faster than a McDonald's drive-through. The food was delicious, and the young lady gave excellent customer service, checking on us periodically. It's a little tight for indoor seating, but once everyone finds out about this hidden jewel, they will be forced to expand. I had the G spot for 2. There is plenty of food and it was a variety. I'm going to start inviting people to join me next time. Sorry no pictures, I ate it all.. lol“

“Went there,’Friday night 7pm. They were slammed. Waited 40 minutes for wings didn’t think they would come. When they finally did come along with they came with sides on the house. “I've been wanting to try conch salad for a couple of years. We had a layover and decided to try conch it up. We were not disappointed! The conch salad was so fresh and flavorful. I also enjoyed the shrimp and crab salad. We had fried conch and shrimp and fish. The conch sauce is delicious but similar to hot sauce so use with caution.“

I was never too big on lemon pepper seasoning, I usually prefer other spices on my chicken wings. But when my niece offered me to try hers, I was blown away! Delicious! “This is soul food at its best! Was recommended this place by several people that go to MDC North which is nearby, and couldn’t have been more pleased with the food. The ribs are truly special, I ordered mine with the sauce on them but you’re give the choice and they can serve it on a container on the side. There are other protein choices, and you have to choose one rice option and 2 sides (I got corn and baked beans) they also provide a slice of corn bread- everything was very tasty. It is worth mentioning that there are no tables to eat on site, but the staff pack and prepare the food to go and provide cutlery and napkins. Also at least when I went it was cash only - but the prices are more than reasonable. The staff is very attentive as well. Will absolutely return, this is a true find“
“I was visiting Miami for the first time and didn't know where I was. I was checking out Wynwood and somehow walked into Overtown. I was really hot and sweaty and just wanted some air conditioning for a while...and some jerk chicken. I found this place inside a strip mall.I ordered the jerk chicken and after a few minutes in the kitchen, the nice lady behind the counter came back to tell me they were out. Dammit. So I had something simpler, bbq wings with the yellow indianish rice. And ya know what...it was delicious.The lady seemed kinda surprised I wanted to eat it there, but I did. The tables and chairs were plastic lawn furniture askew throughout the tiny restaurant. I pulled a table and a chair together and sat down to eat while watching a soap opera on TV. It was alright. Again, the food was great. The service, eh.I wanted to wash my hands and the lady behind the counter REALLY di not want me to use their bathroom. She gave me hand sanitizer to wash my hands. That doesn't wash off bbq so I insisted on using their restroom. She relented, gave me the key, and told me to make sure I locked it behind me. I don't know if I'll ever come back to this part of Miami again but if I did, I'd go back and try the jerk chicken...and maybe bring my own wet wipes. Besides, I gotta find out what happened to Sheila's baby in the soap opera.“

“A good spot for a delicious, no frills meal. I stopped in for Sunday brekkie around 9am. This place was busy and only kept getting busier. Dine in and take out orders were coming in left & right. This business is really supported by the local community. So much so that while you're trying to place your order, someone will come in and start up a conversation with the person taking your order, thus making the ordering process a bit longer than it should be. If you dine in, there are a couple dark tables and some gospel music playing. The food is cooked to order, and it's worth the wait. The prices aren't too bad, either. “Nice accomodation and service. We are fresh off of a 7 day cruise and headed back to TX tomorrow. We made this place our 1st stop for breakfast and we are so satisfied. We had the Breakfast Special (Cheesey grits and eggs) w/added Talapia, a honey butter biscuit and passion fruit drink, as well as shrimp and grits w/out the sauce. The flavor was on point and the portion sizes were very filling. We paid around $32. This place did not disappoint one bit. We will definitely stop again should we ever come back to the area. “I’ve had Derry’s before, always on point. Today however, I had a serious craving for liver and onions so I ordered. That liver and onions took me back to my childhood when my grandma used to make it. It was so good. I work close by and we order from time to time but this was my first time having liver and onions from Derry’s. Only thing is now I have to make it through the rest of the day at work. When a meal is so satisfying and fulfilling, you just want to lay down and take a nap and that’s what I want to do now after that breakfast. Thanks Derry’s for an amazing meal as always. Tasty beautifully plated and most of all for me, I didn't have to make any seasoning edits due to my health concerns! I ordered a chicken quesadilla oh my what I envisioned was wrong!!! This beautifully plated master piece was chock full of fresh peppers with perfectly seared chicken all atop a fresh pita bread! My meal was coupled with a cup of pumpkin soup that was so soft and clean!Oh yeah I forgot to mention my original palate's desires that I wanted for myself and my lunch date. I was looking for Legume and after being disappointed at the first restaurant I asked our server who was gracious enough to allow for us to sample some...Oh my!!!
