“This is my first restaurant review EVER and I must say my experience was AMAZING. Mind you my husband doesn’t eat fish and ordered the filet mignon- succulenting! I am reviewing from someone who has eaten at Wolfgang Pucks in Manhattan ! The “sushi:chef choice “ was to die for, and I felt as if I had hired a personal chef! A definite 5 star! Bravo!“
“I’d give 2 stars for the food but that’s not fair because we didn’t have the sushi. Maybe come here for sushi but don’t come here for Japanese food. I’m Japanese and I brought my Okinawan cousin here wanting comfort food. This is the 3rd self-proclaimed Japanese restaurant we’ve tried in the area and so far we haven’t found real Japanese food. This was an Americanized sushi restaurant. They did not have teriyaki, tempura or udon on the menu. Forget nishime, butter fish or soba. Prices were good for lunch, portions were plentiful, but we left half our bland food on our plates. They specially made a mixed shrimp and vegetable tempura appetizer for us even though tempura isn’t on the menu, because they do make tempura for the sushi. The tempura was tough in some spots (excess batter, and the batter recipe was heavy); the hibachi chicken and noodles were bland; the katsu sauce was salty and dark (it’s supposed to be sweet and tangy); the white mayo sauce “for the tempura” was like Pollo Tropical’s garlic sauce but was made with visible garlic powder and Miracle Whip or a sweet mayonnaise thinned out; and the lunch special soup was clear soup, not miso soup. The restaurant was clean; our server was efficient and capable; the staff was nice enough to accommodate our tempura request; the bathroom was clean. The background music was current Chinese pop hits. My husband liked the candies in the bowl at the front. Nice koi mural on the wall.“
“If you crave good old fashioned Chinese food, head over to the Pacific Asian Bistro in Ormand Beach. We have searched for a decent traditional honest meal ever since having moved here from New York City 12 years ago. Finally, we found a restaurant that satisfies our cravings. If you want good old egg roll, Won Ton Soup or spare ribs you will enjoy this restaurant's offerings. My husband loves their shrimp with lobster sauce and our friends enjoy the egg foo Jung. The restaurant serves sushi and I think other Asian offerings but we stick to the traditional food. The wait staff are attentive and the owner, Candy is always ready to help and make our meal pleasant. The atmosphere is nothing fancy but we don't go for the decor. We are grateful to finally have some decent Chinese food that we remember from our childhood and teen years. Enjoy!“
“I had a fantastic experience with Miss Johanna, our waitress. She was incredibly sweet and stood out as the first among many who understood my ketogenic diet. Her knowledge proved invaluable, and I appreciate the delightful dinner you provided for my father and me.“
“Daughters 18th birthday and our server Ryan got her a little cake, we didn't even have to ask. The entire meal was/is a whole experience. Ryan has a great personality and our chef was effin hilarious. Will definitely return before the next celebratory dinner.I'd give 10 stars but apparently 5 is the max. Well done Takeya!!!!!!“
“Was looking for a place for dinner since my cooking plans got cancelled. This place had lots of great reviews so I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed! Hibachi was great, our chef was awesome, and all the food was fantastic. Our waitress Sarah was very attentive and friendly as well. I will definitely return again and suggest others to give it a try.“
