Sausage a little too spicy (but would’ve been great later with peppers and onions on a hoagie roll!) and the potatoes - lord the potatoes! Perfect little off the beaten path spot. Did I mention the grits ???? Perfection !“

“I’ve had Derry’s before, always on point. Today however, I had a serious craving for liver and onions so I ordered. That liver and onions took me back to my childhood when my grandma used to make it. It was so good. I work close by and we order from time to time but this was my first time having liver and onions from Derry’s. Only thing is now I have to make it through the rest of the day at work. When a meal is so satisfying and fulfilling, you just want to lay down and take a nap and that’s what I want to do now after that breakfast. Thanks Derry’s for an amazing meal as always. “I've eaten here several times before but this time I ordered catering for a party of 10. The options were good with the food being hot, fresh and delicious. The young man brought everything to my car and helped me secure it so nothing would spill. He even went and got extra pans to make sure everything was sturdy. I would definitely recommend for party catering.“

“This is soul food at its best! Was recommended this place by several people that go to MDC North which is nearby, and couldn’t have been more pleased with the food. The ribs are truly special, I ordered mine with the sauce on them but you’re give the choice and they can serve it on a container on the side. There are other protein choices, and you have to choose one rice option and 2 sides (I got corn and baked beans) they also provide a slice of corn bread- everything was very tasty. It is worth mentioning that there are no tables to eat on site, but the staff pack and prepare the food to go and provide cutlery and napkins. Also at least when I went it was cash only - but the prices are more than reasonable. The staff is very attentive as well. Will absolutely return, this is a true find“
“So I am Long overdue for a review as I did not know it was a Yelp. But here it is this place is 5/5 and I have eaten both breakfast and now dinner. Breakfast is simply delicious and wait time id not long. Salmon croquette, grits and flops are top tier. Below in the picture I place different dinner items below. There is the fried conch which was cooked to perfection , Mac & cheese someone grandma back there, grilled shrimp, yellow rice and those string beans are literally awesome and slow cooked made with love. Every time I'm on that side of town I stop by. Also breakfast sold all day.“

“I feel like lately I've been experiencing sub-standard service and/or products alot! NOT HERE, though! A friend recommended this location to me for their banana pudding (puddin'), so I went. When I tell you that not only I but my brothers also enjoyed the food from these people.......geesh! That was approximately 2 weeks ago and as of the date of this correspondence, I've been back about four times. The desserts are so decadent, moist, and flavorful. It reminds me of my late mother and grandmother and I am truly grateful for the reminder(s). My Brother's and Mama Soul Food Heaven ain't quite "Heaven" (thank the LORD) but the way the food makes me feel, they're pretty darn close. 10 out of 10, I'll definitely recommend.“
“I stopped by for a take out order for lunch today 04-08-24 within twenty minutes of close time. I was still offered the option to dine in. The veggie plate came with four sides. I ordered fried okra, green beans, mac & cheese, and yams; it came with cornbread. It crossed my mind to try the banana pudding, but the only desserts were red velvet, chocolate, & pound cakes.The lady who took my order also went into the kitchen to help Ms Betty get some orders out. When she brought my order out, she explained that she used separate containers to keep my food from spilling while I was traveling; it was appreciated.I enjoyed the okra & yams the most. The green beans, mac & cheese, and cornbread were just ok. The countertop where I sat needed to be wiped down.“
“Today, on my day off, I decided to get me some fish and grits. So I go to Derrys 2 and as soon as I walk in the door I am greeted by a beautiful little girl and her mother. They were warm and inviting and were patient as I placed my order. I ordered 2 plates of fish and grits and a side of fries. With a small flop but she gave me a large instead. How kind of her. They are family owned and care about their customers.
