“Tonight was my first visit to Allelo on Beach Drive in St. Pete. We didn’t have a reservation but were lucky to get seats at the bar around 7 p.m. They mentioned they were fully booked, though we did notice a few tables open both when we arrived and when we left. Still, we ended up having a great time at the bar! The female bartender was pretty friendly and attentive, and the bar back (a male) was busy helping with table and silverware setup ~ both were good. We ordered the Baby Gem Salad, Mussels in a delicious tomato sauce, and the Cocktail Shrimp, which were all fantastic. The cocktails were unique and interestingly crafted. The espresso martini had an interesting twist ~ a subtle touch of amaro that gave it depth. The lemon drop martini was made with their house lemonade, which gave it a refreshing and slightly unexpected flavor. My friend ordered the Aperol Spritz and really enjoyed it too. It was a bit loud inside, so next time I’ll definitely ask to sit outside, especially in this beautiful weather. The restaurant has a charming patio right on Beach Drive, a cozy bar area, and another smaller dining room to the right as you walk in. The space is beautifully decorated, with a hand-painted mural of birds by a local artist. They even provided a list so guests can learn about each bird featured on the wall ~ a thoughtful touch! I’m surprised it took me this long to visit, especially since I consider myself quite the foodie. Allelo has been open for 5 years, and after tonight, I can definitely say I’ll be back soon!“

“The title of this review is the Dublin Sour. I returned to Saint Petersburg for work after moving away 6 years ago. After having a work dinner on the Pier, I recommended the group go for another drink at the Vinoy. I could not be more pleased with the service at the Veranda. I asked our bartender if he could prepare a Dublin Sour, and he delivered a delicious drink following what appeared a great deal of effort. I enjoyed the first one so much, I ordered a second. Our bartender Ryan did a great job.“

“Clean and classic looking bar. Plenty of comfortable seating at the bar. The bathrooms are clean and working. Minimal menu; the hot dogs are good. All drinks, which there are endless choices, are priced more than fair for todays’ world. There are enough TVs strategically placed , with a pool table and other available games. Kelly provided professional customer service. She was working the bar alone but still gave ALL equal time. I suggest you go and get happy.“

Our server, Leah, greeted us, and we ordered beverages and an appetizer. I knew what I wanted right away, while my daughter took a bit longer and chose the lasagna. When the food arrived, the generous portions impressed us. Both of our meals were delicious. I mentioned to the server that it was my daughter's birthday. The head chef also checked in to see if everything was good. Bruce, who was fantastic, surprised my daughter with a big slice of chocolate cake and sang Happy Birthday with the crew. Great job! Our server was pleasant and helpful with the menu. But after he took our order we didn’t see him again until we were done and asked for the check. (Someone else delivered the food.) So, he never checked to see if our food was OK or to refill water. As for the food, it was pretty good overall. We started with very nice coconut soup (basically a Thai tom kha), if slightly too sweet. The pork dumplings were very good. The ginger chicken entrée had nice flavor, but the chicken pieces were a little tough. The server highly recommended the snapper risotto, which seemed an odd choice for an Asian restaurant. Nevertheless, the snapper was a generous piece and nicely cooked. The sauce on it was delicious. The risotto, however, was on the gummy side when it should have had a silky texture. I would go to Green Pagoda again and try the whole fish and some sushi.“
