“Venezuelan burgers at Trino — trust me, ignore the outside and go in.

This Coral Springs location has only been open about a month. It used to be a Peruvian restaurant called Italo (same owner), and honestly the exterior still carries that awkward in-between energy. Blacked-out glass, neon, very much “is this a vape shop or an adult bookstore?” vibes.

Then you walk inside — and it’s a complete personality shift.

The interior is a full-on nerd shrine: Star Wars posters, Marvel art, retro signs, guitars on the wall, framed pop culture everywhere. Clean, bright, casual, and clearly meant to be fun. It feels intentional, not kitschy.

The food absolutely backs it up.

These are Venezuelan-style smash burgers — double patties, aggressively juicy, stacked with white cheese, Munster, bacon, potato stix, and a soft toasted bun that somehow holds together despite the chaos. You can see it in the cross-section: no dry beef, no filler, just meat, fat, cheese, and crunch.

But the real differentiator here is the sauce situation.

They bring out squeeze bottles like you’re about to conduct a science experiment:

• Ajo (garlic)
• Blue cheese (excellent)
• Bacon (ridiculous)
• Sweet corn (unexpectedly great)
• Trino sauce (tangy ranch-style)

Get fries for the table and just start mixing. This place understands that sauces are not a garnish — they’re the point.

Beyond burgers, the menu goes full Venezuelan and Colombian: perros (loaded hot dogs), cachapas (sweet corn pancake sandwiches), empanadas, patacones. This isn’t a burger place pretending to do Latin food — it’s Latin street food that happens to do burgers extremely well.

Bottom line:

The outside may make you hesitate. Don’t. Inside is fun, the burgers are legit, and the sauce game alone earns the visit.

“If you don’t know, now you know… The Caribe Vegan is BACK! Available to dine in (with real plates and silverware) in a beautiful garden setting at the Zen Mind Space in Wilton Manors (with a private parking lot) or for pick up at same location or order on Uber Eats or Grub Hub for delivery. First up thing I tried was one of the three Sushis rolls on the menu called, URSULA MOVED TO DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, it consisted of Vegan shrimp (made from heart of palm), sweet plantain, tofu cream cheese, cucumber, carrot \\u0026 crispy onions drizzled with her secret island sauce. The fusion style sushi roll, was full of flavor, and had a good texture through out, was definitely one of my favorite things I tried, and I would definitely get it again and highly recommend it when you order from her, but it definitely left me curious to try some of her other fusion style rolls, I could actually imagine just ordering all 3 rolls and calling it a night. The next dish was a caribe classic, a CRABCAKE (made with heart of palm) served over Dominican-style mashed plantain with garlic \\u0026 vegan butter and Crabcake, smothered in a house made cheesy garlic sauce \\u0026 pickled cabbage, do I have to say more? Just out of the world taste and flavor explosion, just like at the picture below, it was insane and so big. The final plate was a bowl for the soul, THE DOMINI SOULFOOD PLATE, that consisted of Latin style fried chkn (made from mushrooms and jackfruit), mac \\u0026 cheese, candied yams mixed with sweet plantain. The Chick’n was crunchy, and fried just right, she topped it with her special sauce, that really gives new meaning to special! I hope she starts selling It by the bottle, because it’s so good! The mac \\u0026 cheese was creamy and had a very good consistency. It was all complimented so well with candied yams and plantains that were the perfect sweet to go with the spice, an all around can’t miss plate, highly recommended. If you have ate at the Caribe Vegan in the past, you already know the amount of love she puts into each dish, and if you have never got to try her before, here’s your chance. Her new location is a beautiful event space, yoga studio and offers therapeutic massage as well (check for class times and appointment), it has lots of parking and a great zen garden to chill and enjoy your food, I definitely suggest stopping in, saying hi, and enjoying the food (it’s ok to bring a few canned beverages, if that’s your vibe). Their empanadas and bacalaitos were just like what I would have when my grandmother would come to visit! She is known for her cooking and their food was phenomenal! “I just moved to the area and always see this food truck and wanted to try it for a while now. There’s always a line, so I assumed the food had to be good. I decided to stop one afternoon while running errands.. there was a short line, but it was pretty fast once you know what you’re ordering. The food is cooked to order, so I did have to wait about 10 minutes, which was fine with me because I ran another errand and came back for my food. I was so excited to try it, being part Cuban, the menu was filled with food I grew up on. I gave up meat almost a year ago, but I was willing to sacrifice it all lol and had no regrets.. I ordered a beef empanada, which was seasoned to perfection, I also ordered a media noche and a materva. The media noche was put together well. It was a huge sandwich. I noticed on their menu that they did have some cooked food options, along with some sides, like fries and Tostones, they also sell homemade juices.. I will be back to try everything. It does look like it’s a husband and wife team, the guy took my order and he was super nice. They do have two chairs to sit down on, there is no outdoor seating, it’s a grab and go, or sit in your car type of thing. Well worth the try.“

The jerk chicken was Seasoned to perfection and the rice and peas were moist but not mushy. And the PORTION SIZE is crrrazy……they give you more than enough food for 2 people. The lady put oxtail gravy on my rice and peas and it was so good wanted to buy an oxtail plate too. All in all. Great experience and yes they are very friendly and non judge mental.
