“My first time coming to this restaurant. I ordered the fried fish and shrimp with fries. Everything came out just perfect. Super flavorful and fresh shrimp and fish. Everything tasted fresh and yummy. If you are craving seafood do yourself a favor and stop at this place. To add to this, the person that took my order was very courteous. Will definitely come back next time I'm in the vicinity. I noticed a lot of people coming in for take up, I dined in. Nice background music ?and great food.“
“This was the most excellent Italian dining experience. As soon as you walk in you are met with an old time Italian eatery decor. The atmosphere along with the authentic Italian food aromas drew me in. We were met with a friendly greeting and taken to our table where our waiter Jeff suggested fresh seafood choices like snapper and shrimp. I chose the Snapper Oreganata with Linguine. This was the best piece of fish that I have ever eaten. Sorry mom. It was very tender and the white sauce was amazing. The chicken cacciatore was amazing too. My guest has been craving authentic Italian cacciatore and she said she found it. The garlic bread selection that came pre-meal was incredible too. The garlic butter combination was so good I would come back just for the bread. The side salad, while just a salad, was made amazing by the quality of the very fresh vegetables and the delicious creamy Italian dressing. Jeff, our waiter, was an amazing host. He was polite, friendly, entertaining, and extremely knowledgeable of the days fresh deliveries and made excellent suggestions for the evening. I only wish I had room for desert. “My old coworkers always raved about this place so 15 years later I finally got a chance to visit. We were a party of 6 on Presidents' Day for lunch. The place is located in a strip mall facing Cypress Road. It's on the smallish side. The hostess had us wait about 15 minutes while our table was prepared. There are some chairs out front for this purpose. My daughter and I split the fish and chips. My dad ordered the fish roti. Judging by his longing gaze at my fish and chips, I quickly traded with him. The fish was bland but the roti with the curry base and bits of soft potatoes was very filling and tasty! My teenage son ordered the cheese burger and fries and wolfed it down with a root beer. There is a bar with a variety of domestic and imported draft beers on tap. My mom ordered a pint of Bud Light but it was too much for her to finish. The highlight of the menu (IMHO) is the homemade desserts. We all split a caramel cheesecake, a flan and a double coconut pie. Delicious! Our server was a college-age young man who is service oriented and friendly. Two thumbs up! BUT... If you are in a hurry to get a quick bite to eat this is definitely not the place. We were seated for 2 hours. If you have the time and the money, Calypso is an authentic old Florida establishment that is well worth the visit.“

“Love the atmosphere, my husband’s meal was good, Florida shrimp and scallops, light curry sauce, with pasta. I had the lobster ravioli and it just didn’t taste right, the lobster or clams were off. The brandy cream sauce was good. I must have ordered a bad wine as it was a bit bitter. When I mentioned the lobster ravioli didn’t taste right the staff commented that everyone loved it and walked away. The lemonchello flute was the best.I had the best food when I visited Italy and was looking forward to the class of meals from that country. Simple good food.My overall impression is just so-so, the staff seemed to be acting a bit haute where the atmosphere is fun, so I didn’t get it. Sadly, my expectations were not met.“

“I love this place for seafood and chicken on the go! I first found this place while at the mall looking for something for me and my son to eat. I ordered the fish platter and it was good, my son on the other hand had the conch fritter bites platter. I tried some of his and was trying to steal his plate. I recently tried their wings, omg, especially with their Hook's seasoning, perfection. They are super friendly and helpful on food suggestion. The food is always fresh and hot, but the wait time is not very long.“

We Started with the tuna lollipops and we all knew from that dish we were in for a treat. Nightly special roll was based around king crab and was amazing. Three other rolls were just as good. From the freshness to the presentation we could not ask for more. They cook with love and passion and each item showed that. We ordered the Branzino and grilled shrimp and Lamb chops. It was extremely delicious and flavorful. We sat outside on the inter-coastal. It was a great way to end our stay in Florida.“
“Ate here twice to provide a thorough review. Garlic knots were warm and very garlicky. Fine for me but could be toned down a touch for most pallets. The salads were fresh and amazing but the sauce was a bit watery which wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. Spaghetti noodles were firm. Marinara sauce was tasty and fresh. Eggplant parmesan was not memorable. I’m from MI where oddly we have a large concentrated population of Italians so I’m spoiled. Again it wasn’t bad and for a beach town should exceed expectations. The 4 cheese pizza was splendid! Very cheesy so you get want you asked for. Brilliantly cooked to perfection. Crunchy but not burnt. Thin and not heavy sauce. The service was stellar as well. She was attentive and sweet to our daughter. They are great about greeting you upon entry and exit.“

We had a hurricane scare that caused us to need to reschedule everything at the last minute, all while in the midst of COVID. Erica was completely supportive and helpful during the entire process, no added stress at all. Everything turned out amazing!
