“Since I live in Ponce Inlet, I've been to Down the Hatch many times and have always found their seafood to be so fresh all the time. This time I had my sons visiting me from St. Louis, they wanted to eat at the best restaurant for seafood, and of course, we went right here and it didn't disappoint. They especially loved the shecrab soup with the sherry on the side. It was scrumptious. Their dinners were wonderful, as well as the desserts. Needless to say, we went home with plenty of leftovers. Steve, the server was great. All in all, it was a perfect night. So whether you live nearby or on vacation, make it a point to dine there.“

“Nice greeting at the door, easy ordering process with all dishes visible and a rotating menu. Good sized portions, and well balanced variety. Relaxed, warm and friendly. To go containers are paper, not Styrofoam! big plus on that ;-)“

“the restaurant is located in ocean jewels resort . the restaurant is extremely clean. I have food allergies an the lady let me read the labels , made my hamburger with cheese no bun. I substituted a fruit cup for French fries. that was a bit skimpy, even tho I paid a $ additional $3.00. my husband ordered BLT, he was happy with it . a bit pricey but the food is excellent and it's very clean. the only issue I had was the trainee perhaps? eating a biscuit right behind the counter“

“The food was delicious. We dined on the jagerschnitzel as it is served with the gravy. I’ve had authentic German jagerschnitzel and this was the same- just as I was hoping. I also had the chef’s vegetables and I loved the seasoning, because let’s be honest vegetables are usually boring, but not here. The staff were pleasant. The bread and butter divine. The food came quickly. Lovely date night venue.“

“I went with a group on Wednesday. I choose the Wrong lunch. it was the millionaires Grill cheese. on thick bread with thin layer of crab & lobster which was fishy. it was Not fresh or sweet. Yup, should have returned it! Everyone else's sandwiches were full & delicious looking. Hope they remove this Mill Grill cheese as it's a joke & where did they come up with that name??“

“Kind of like a beachy TGIF’s. Cool fun atmosphere with junk all over the walls. Our waiter was AMAZING. Super friendly and knowledgeable about what’s vegan on the menu and what to modify. I had the double smashed veggie burger. It was “good”. Best part of going here is the 5$ all day margaritas. Updated from previous review on 2025-12-15“

“We come several times per year when visiting my folks who live in Ormond. The food is good, staff is fantastic, and the beer selection is second to none in the area. The only thing I'd like to see is glasses as opposed to plastic cups for your fantastic beer. Looking forward to our next visit.“

“We tried this local restaurant today for the first time. The food was terrific, cooked perfectly. The “fish camp fixings” was a nice addition. Our server was friendly and efficient. We dined outside to enjoy the beautiful day. The children’s playground out there seemed out of place. It took away from the esthetics of the place and the whole dining experience.“

“We went to Caribbean Jacks while on vacation, and were not disappointed. The food was wonderful, and the service was fantastic. This is not the reason for the review however. When we contacted the restaurant about a possible lost credit card, Chris and the rest of his staff went above and beyond by locating the card, then personally mailing it to our home. Now that’s service!“

“We were in Daytona Beach for vacation and staying at the Wndym Ocean Walk Resort. Starlite Diner was within walking distance so we decided to try it. Best food ever! we ate there 3 or 4 times during the week! Never a bad meal! Excellent service too! All the staff were attentive and food was served timely. 100% recommend!“

“Great good on Easter Sunday. Problem:,pieces of paper on the floor (at least 5 and one larger crumpled up piece) and none of the waitresses, or the help, would stop to pick them up. Also my Cabernet had so much sediment in the bottom it left a huge skid mark up the side of the glass. Seems like a change in managers or increased training.“
