“I stopped by and decided to try the beef soup. It was the best beef soup I’ve had in years I couldn’t believe the flavor it was unbelievable I will definitely give them another try. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food look no further in this location you guys are the best.“
“This little gem was a great find! My boyfriend has been to Haiti and I’ve been to Jamaica and this place had a nice blend of both.We had the legume stew with rice and beans; the Ke Bef (oxtail) and the chicken pate. Everything was amazing. Nice blend of spices. This was my first time trying oxtail and I will definitely be eating it again. It was so tender and the sauce was incredible.Jonas, the owner, was so nice and chatted with us during our visit. He makes you feel welcomed and takes good care of his customers! We will definitely be back!Vegetarian options: They have fried green plantains and salad.Parking: Free large parking lot.Kid-friendliness: If kids like this kind of food, they will love it!Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of room for a wheelchair.“
“I came here while in Tampa. After searching Caribbean restaurants I'm happy I chose this location.. The lunch portion was fulfilling and everything tasted fresh and great.. We ordered Curry Chicken, Beef Stew and a side of Mac n cheese and we enjoyed everything.. If im in the area again I definitely plan on returning!!“
“This place was amazing. It has a great ambiance with friendly staff and atmosphere. The vibe was great and the music was on point. I definitely will return. Our server Brielle was great. Definitely the place to be for date night or girls night either one it was a vibe!!!’“
“The cabbage, jerk chicken and mac & cheese were delicious. My only concern is what they consider to be 3 pieces of chicken. I was given a drum stick and a thigh cut in half, which is 2 pieces of chicken. The food was good but be carefulwatch what you are paying for.“
“Stayed at an AirBnb a block away and just happened upon this place. The food is fantastic! Ate several times during the few days we were there. Tried their cuban sandwich, several breakfast items, and their cuban coffee. Everything was just fantastic.“
“The Island Jerk Shack is a culinary gem near my office, offering a taste of the Caribbean. The owner's warmth matches the food's spice. Thursdays feature irresistible Mutton Curry, while the Jerk Pork reigns supreme on other days. Their Cucumber or Carrot Ginger Juice perfectly complements every meal. It's my go-to spot for authentic flavors and genuine hospitality.“
“What a treasure! We stopped to this restaurant on our way to a cruise out of Tampa. The server was very friendly and suggested some great entrees for us to try. Everything was great but those oysters were definitely something to talk about forever. They were fried perfectly. I don't like my seafood to be fried too hard with a lot of batter and these were absolutely perfect. The fried calamari was delicious and the hush puppies were great also.I will absolutely stop by again the next time I am in the city.“
“Goat curry with rice, fried plantains and a side of roti. My son had the salmon and all tasted amazing. My other two kids didn’t photograph their food but it was great! Our waiter was amazing also and well educated about the menu and drinks and the amount of heat. Even suggested a safe alternative for my “I want chicken strips” 10 yr old. 10/10 we will definitely come back when in Tampa.“
“I’ve come here almost every Sunday after church for a beef patty. They treat you like family once you are there. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious. Thank you Tracy for the food and love you show me and my wife every time we come in. I like the place so much I’m writing this review while they are closed.“
