“We have been here multiple times and LOVE the food. With that said, not sure what happened last night but it was top 5 worst serve we have ever had: waiter didn't come to the table for over 20 minute after we sat down, once we placed the order drink came 45 minutes later, brought the kids meals last (after over an hour), never brought out main courses, waiter never checked on us, the list goes on and on. We finally cancelled our main course and left after being there over 2 hours. Worst part is there was no acknowledgement of the horrible service and serve charge was purposely added so there is no accountability for poor service. Very disappointing to say the least.“

“It's been a while since I've had top-level sushi. Fitting it was at Chef David's other restaurant, Sushi By Bou. This omakase was a very relaxed 2 hour seating, with remarkable views of the ocean and the north Miami skyline. I found myself thrown back in my chair with the incredible layered flavors of the almost never-ending fresh fish. The cocktails were nuanced, and the atmosphere was filled with pure happiness. I'll definitely find myself coming back here often!“

“We had a fantastic evening at Hiyakawa—warm hospitality, generous portions, and an omakase that reminded us why this place is so special. Chef Royce’s talent really shines in the precision and balance of each course.

The shrimp nigiri was the standout for us—cooked to perfection—closely followed by the otoro with caviar, which was a wonderfully generous touch and beautifully balanced. My friend loved the monkfish liver, and I was especially impressed by the baby eel nigiri.

Chef Jaimie’s dishes were also memorable—especially the steamed tofu, which was incredibly silky and tasty, with a delicate, well-balanced flavor. The perfectly fried shrimp head was a treat, and the refreshing dessert ended the meal on a light, clean note.

Overall, an excellent experience and one we’re still savoring—highly recommended.“

I walked into a very petite intimate restaurant with only. 11 seats. The experience from start to finish was extraordinary. As a New Yorker, who is also in the hospitality business, I have high standards especially around sushi and Japanese cuisine. The food, wine and sake pairings and attention to detail were outstanding. Each course was better than the next. We met the sushi chef, the culinary chef and the owner. I feel after the pandemic, it's really changed the service force. It was such a fresh breath of air to have such an amazing time and service! I had a party of 11 of us for my birthday, and we were treated with smiles, and taken care of like kings. The food was phenomenal! Some of the most beautiful, fresh seafood I have ever had in my entire life. I've been traveling seven years full-time, and I will definitely be coming back just to eat here! “Found this place while searching for a Japanese/Thai restaurant in the area, the restaurant looks kind of outdated, the food was good, the best for me was the vegetable fried rice, lots of flavor and crispy veggies, the yakisoba was just ok, not a lot of flavor and the shrimp was overcooked, hard , dry and lacking flavor. Server was friendly but did not come ti the table unless called. Mixed outcome, try it if you want.“

“Food was amazing! I had no issues except when it came to dessert. We got the Almond Delirious. Before we ordered we asked the server to explain what it was. She stated it was an ice cream base with chocolate and almonds on top with a chocolate crust. However when we got the dessert it was not an ice cream base but chocolate mousse. In fact two layers of mousse and no ice cream whatsoever. That was very disappointing as I do not like mousse. So this kind of ruined the dessert portion for our first time there.“

I had salmon all around, and it was the freshest I've had by far... you can visit after the beach or on a fancy date it is just so versatile definitely will visit again. “Decided to try this place on a weekday late at night. Service was slow, but that's because the one server that was there was taking care of multiple things, she was nice. Had a Cali and volcano roll, they were yummy! Also had shrimp tacos, they were just good, I felt it needed a bit more flavor so I added hot sauce. I will be coming back to try something new. Nice, laid back spot.“
