“We have been here multiple times and LOVE the food. With that said, not sure what happened last night but it was top 5 worst serve we have ever had: waiter didn't come to the table for over 20 minute after we sat down, once we placed the order drink came 45 minutes later, brought the kids meals last (after over an hour), never brought out main courses, waiter never checked on us, the list goes on and on. We finally cancelled our main course and left after being there over 2 hours. Worst part is there was no acknowledgement of the horrible service and serve charge was purposely added so there is no accountability for poor service. Very disappointing to say the least.“

“It's been a while since I've had top-level sushi. Fitting it was at Chef David's other restaurant, Sushi By Bou. This omakase was a very relaxed 2 hour seating, with remarkable views of the ocean and the north Miami skyline. I found myself thrown back in my chair with the incredible layered flavors of the almost never-ending fresh fish. The cocktails were nuanced, and the atmosphere was filled with pure happiness. I'll definitely find myself coming back here often!“

“We had a fantastic evening at Hiyakawa—warm hospitality, generous portions, and an omakase that reminded us why this place is so special. Chef Royce’s talent really shines in the precision and balance of each course.

The shrimp nigiri was the standout for us—cooked to perfection—closely followed by the otoro with caviar, which was a wonderfully generous touch and beautifully balanced. My friend loved the monkfish liver, and I was especially impressed by the baby eel nigiri.

Chef Jaimie’s dishes were also memorable—especially the steamed tofu, which was incredibly silky and tasty, with a delicate, well-balanced flavor. The perfectly fried shrimp head was a treat, and the refreshing dessert ended the meal on a light, clean note.

Overall, an excellent experience and one we’re still savoring—highly recommended.“

Tongue— was good but a bit boring and forgettable

Lamb chops— was EXCELLENT, absolutely fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection!!

Espresso Martini— was very good, although a bit too sweet for my liking

They also gave us the seats we requested but unfortunately the sun didn't set where we expected but they still put us where we asked with an AMAZING view and away from the crowd. “Matsuyoi easily ranks as the best omakase experiences my partner and I have ever had. Beyond the incredible freshness and flavor of every course, what really sets this place apart is the attention to detail at every touchpoint of the guest experience.

From the personalized welcome card to the intimate setting, the perfectly curated playlist, and the thoughtful gift at the end — everything feels intentional and beautifully executed. The chefs and staff are engaging, fun, and make you feel like you’re part of something special rather than just dining at a restaurant.

We also did the wine pairing and every dish was mouthwatering to say the LEAST. The creativity of each bit, from the rolls to the soup to dessert and everything in between, made for a dining experience that had us anticipating what was next, but also savoring every moment and not wanting that course to end.

We got to chat with our seat neighbors and truly had a wonderful time. Very different from a traditional Omakase experience in that regard as well. The speakeasy type setup also made it feel exclusive and like a premium experience. It just felt sexy and fun!

“Sushi Siam is an absolute hidden gem. Their menu is extensive, featuring a mix of Thai and Japanese dishes, so there’s something for everyone.

The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and expertly prepared — it’s as much a treat for the eyes as it is for your taste buds. Beyond sushi, they also serve fantastic Pad Thai and Tom Kha Kai soup that are definitely worth trying.

What’s unique about this spot is that it’s almost always empty, likely because most of their business is takeout. But I actually loved the solitude — it feels like a private dining experience.

The building itself is definitely dated, giving off some serious Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom vibes (you’ll get the reference once you go). But honestly, that throwback vintage sushi restaurant vibe adds to its charm and makes the experience feel special.

The tuna here is incredibly fresh and the sushi rolls taste super authentic and made to order. The cilantro mayo is a standout too, it adds a really unique flavor that makes the rolls even better.

The atmosphere is fun with a nice authentic vibe. The staff is very friendly and attentive the whole time.

If you love sushi, I definitely recommend Fuji Hana. Also don’t miss the chicken katsu, wonton soup, and the gyoza dumplings…definitely some standout dishes.“

“Food was amazing! I had no issues except when it came to dessert. We got the Almond Delirious. Before we ordered we asked the server to explain what it was. She stated it was an ice cream base with chocolate and almonds on top with a chocolate crust. However when we got the dessert it was not an ice cream base but chocolate mousse. In fact two layers of mousse and no ice cream whatsoever. That was very disappointing as I do not like mousse. So this kind of ruined the dessert portion for our first time there.“

“If sushi had a dress code, this place would require a tuxedo. Dining at Omakai felt more like a carefully choreographed performance than just dinner, every plate arrived with beautiful presentation and the staff was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable. The sushi itself was outstanding, with some of the freshest fish I’ve had anywhere in South Florida, and while everything we ordered was excellent, the tuna and eel truly stood out. If someone blindfolded you and handed you a single bite from here, you’d instantly know you were somewhere special. Easy five stars.“
