“Quaint little hole-in-the-wall, hidden off the South-bound side of US1 at a Marina in Tavernier, dockside, lots of boat traffic. Parking is vast, but spread out and could be a long walk to the dock. Kinda tight inside with only 3 tables for two and 3 tables for four, not good for little kids at all. Covered outside seating is several tables for two or three, and several big picnic tables for larger groups.
Large selection of of various foods, sides, appetizers, drinks and beer/wine. No liquor.
All the food we had was delicious, fairly priced, large portions, beer was <$4 a bottle.
Table service was always kind, correct, and responsive. And English speaking too.“

“Of course the seafood is downright delicious at Captain Craig’s Restaurant. What was unexpected is the sublime homemade key lime pie. It is the real deal, complete with a beautiful toasted meringue topping on this glorious rendition of this classic dessert. If you have no room for dessert, I recommend ordering a piece of the pie to go.“

“Twisted Shrimp was delicious. Thomas (the waiter) was a hoot. My party of 4 all had something different. We also shared two desserts. It was all good. Indoor seating is limited. We ate outdoors and was visited by an Iguana in the tree. (sweet!) I recommend anything on the menu. Great place to eat!“

“On our 2nd visit to Island Grill, we had the spicy salmon bowl, and mahi tacos. They were both good with nice flavor combinations and ingredients. The reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars, from us, is their special menu that they have around happy hour time. We had come a couple days earlier, excited to try their tuna nachos (which we saw on like 10 other menus throughout the trip, so although theirs are the original, it’s not the only place to order them). Only to find a special happy hour menu that was confusing and charged $15 extra for us to share the nachos. Seriously? It was just two of us and we should be able to choose how we eat. A $15 surcharge is ridiculous. I think that was my first time walking out of a restaurant. We didn’t even order because I didn’t feel like they deserved our money. The only reason we ended up back there another time was because friends brought us and really wanted to go. Atmosphere is important for us and the surcharge for sharing food with my husband did not feel like a welcoming or casual atmosphere.“

“Perfect coffee shop to stop at in the Keys. Coffee is delicious, breakfast sandwiches are fast and easy, and the woman that run it are so kind and friendly that I want them in Michigan. Love this place.“

“The pizza was FANTASTIC! The restaurant had a comforting atmosphere and the food was great. Leo makes one of the best pizzas in Key Largo if not the best. Being from Italy it reminded me of the flavors of my hometown and culture. Congratulation to Leo and his pizza, spectacular!“

“We just went on this cruise this week and it was amazing. We had trouble swimming on the beach by the resort but this was the perfect way to get more time swimming in the ocean. The captains Bartels and Joey made it such a fun time with the music and hosting on the boat. The boats are well maintained and I felt safe having the kids on there. We were 4 adults and 6 kids on 2 boats and usually I’m water anxious, but I felt completely safe taking the younger kids on the boats. They travel at a pace that feels fun but also relaxed in a good way. Totally worth the money-it felt affordable and I feel we got a lot for the price-We would do it again.“

Pork belly melts in your mouth (the table next to us ordered one, loved it so much they ordered 3 more and 2 to go, that's saying something!)

Wagyu Short ribs were tender and bursting with flavors that enhanced the meat

When I took the first bite of my brisket/short ribs blend burger I literally had an explosion of flavors, the sweet caramelized onions and the melting Swiss cheese on a soft brioche bun, 1000% was the best burger I've ever had. The truffle parm fries that came with these were 10/10 as well!

8oz of top sirloin/ picanha cooked to perfection the fat rendered beautifully with a dusting on sea salt across the top enhancing all the delicious flavors!

We opted to try their homemade mashed taters honestly they are ok, wouldn't order them again, everything else though absolutely would order again!“

“We stumbled upon Key Roots in Islamorada and couldn’t have been happier! Everything here is all-natural and made with care. I had the açaí bowl and it was absolutely excellent — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared.

We brought the whole family, and everyone loved the atmosphere. Even better, they were open on the 4th of July, and we got the chance to meet the owner, Maria. She’s fantastic — incredibly sweet and welcoming. She shared the story of how she came to the Keys from Italy and built this little oasis. You can feel the heart and soul she’s poured into the place.

Highly recommend stopping by Key Roots if you’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back to visit Maria again on our next trip to the Keys!“

The next day we returned and bought more ice cream, chocolates, and candy as souvenirs to take home to the kids. Everything was delicious and the service was great. “My cousin and I go down to key West about two times a year. On the way back up we always stop at this restaurant. We especially like the seafood chowder which is in our opinion the best. “We stopped in for a late lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Cuban sandwich and my wife got the buffalo chicken wrap and we both very much enjoyed it. It was all relatively inexpensive and was very good. The waitresses were very nice and on the ball. We will go here again.“

“I took my family there back in 2010. We took a cruise and found out that this place was affiliated with a former Steeler. Having been raised and still a Steeler fanatic this place was awesome. The accommodations were amazing and the service outside was great. Just trying to plan a return trip! Going on 14 years later.“

“They were very packed during the first day of of the lobster event where it was 20 bucks for the meal. They were so busy and and the workers continue to keep up with the very hot heat. This was my family‘s first time going out there. We going out there again on Sunday because we enjoyed the music and the food was great. The pricing for the lobster meal was a good price.“

“We took our daughters and their friends here for a special dinner. The chef let each daughter and her friend split the huge 16oz steak which then was perfect.“

Peyton was our server she was always made sure our drinks were full, and that we were enjoying the atmosphere, she was very kind and attentive.
