“My family and I were greeted with so much excitement and joy the moment we walked into Key Roots. It truly felt like Maria had known us forever.

This is a must stop. Traveling can make it so hard to find food that is real, organic, and made without all the junk, and this place delivered on every level.

We tried the juice, a smoothie bowl, a beautifully sliced dragon fruit, and the craveable vegan dish…everything was incredible.

The whole experience was such a great. Honestly, I’m not sure what I enjoyed more, the food or the conversation with Maria.

“My family and I booked a reservation here. Gabby and the Chef went above and beyond our expectations! The service was amazing. Gabby was on top of it, answered all of our questions, and keep our drinks full. She was also serving all the other tables in the restaurant. She works very hard. The chef came to greet us after our table was set. He made sure all of our food was cooked to our liking. I cannot recommend this place more. Props to Gabby and the Chef. “This is a great pit stop on the drive up or down to the Keys. Below the restaurant is a dock that boats are chartered out of. The views from the second floor, where it is situated, are spectacular. My friends and I sat outside. The food we ordered was all well prepared. The service was great. The pigeons that kept coming to try to pilfer a meal were not. However, other than that, this is a perfectly good option for a nice lunch.“

“My wife birthday they made it special! I got wood fired pork chop, very good. My wife got lobster and filet mignon kabobs. They were good except some of the beef was undercooked and she couldn't eat it. Ginger tea was a nice addition to our evening.“

“I did the food and history tour with Brad, and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the Keys. His passion for both the history and the food really made the experience special. It was amazing to finally understand the stories behind what I was eating, from the conch fritters to the Key lime pie. He also took me to feed the tarpons and showed me around Robbie’s, which made the whole tour feel authentic and personal. It was absolutely worth the money and genuinely made my time in the Keys. And for the record, it was the best Key lime pie I tasted during my trip.“

Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and the sauce was incredible — rich, flavorful, and with just the right amount of kick. It’s one of those dishes you’ll be thinking about long after the meal. The service was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. If you’re in the Keys, Marker 88 is a must-visit for both the food and the setting. Highly recommend!“

“They kept the charm of the old Marker 88 in little details like keep the 2 GREEN covered table and benches almost in the same location as before... a iconic scene was shot in one of them on a episode of BLOODLINE. Food is as good if not better than before if that is possible.... service is excellent too. Friendly staff including hostess/host and waitresses/waiters very impressed with the new dock and WOW EVERY table has a GREAT view to take in LOTS of selfies were being taken during my visit, I celebrated my 78th Birthday 1 day before and had Fresh Mahi Mahi Tacos for Lunch. So happy they did a complete do over after the destruction from the hurricane that so much damage to the beautiful Keys. Welcome Back Marker 88! Happy to see you there....“
