“The service was great and the sitting area was nice and cafe style. The coffee here the best so far that we have found in the city; still on the hunt.

The Acai bowl was smaller than what I noticed in the photos; the Acai is just a bit too watery and I recommend putting the Nutella on top as it was too rock hard between the cold Acai and granola.

Caribbean arepa was the nicest dish, followed by the pesto chicken pressed sub.

Don’t recommend the chicken and avocado arepa as it tastes like canned tuna and avocado.

Salads with were as expected with no dressing.

Overall was a good experience, average to above average with criticisms on serving the food a bit faster once made as the cheese had hardened a bit and using cups that aren’t chipped/ cracked.“

They had a nice selection of fruit teas as well as milk teas (though I do wish they had Wintermelon but that is getting increasingly rare) and the atmosphere was SO welcoming! “We headed ourselves to Black Coffee Sunday morning to try out the new place in town. We’re brunch lovers so the bar is settled very high, let me tell you this place did not disappoint at all when all I can think of is “how to rate this place just 10/10” Starting off with the amazing service everyone there is willing to give, the owner he’s one of a kind and the fact that he was assisting the tables it is top notch! We had to order a few things from the menu since everything was so appealing. We did fresh juices (I do recommend the carrot orange 10/10) We did non-alcoholic lavander mimosas 100/10 For brunch we did Madame Croque Sandwich, Steak Omelette and Salmon Benedicts. Everything was mouthwatering, however the real showstopper was the grilled lettuce caesar salad. As a chef i’ve never tasted a salad so rare yet so flavorful before, so if you’re a salad person this is a MUST for you to try. 1000/10 wanted to take some home but that’s one of those plates to eat at the moment. Will definitely be repeating this place soon!!“

“I have never had anything from this Winter Park bakery that wasn't pleasant until today. I bought two boxes of treats and there was one very small tubular shape with cheese inside. Couldn't even cut it in half, couldnt chew it either. Do not get these. they are small and have sugar on the outside.“

“My partner and I checked out the New General Cafe with a group of friends, and we had a wonderful experience! The aesthetic is absolutely beautiful, and I love the vibe.

​The staff are incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable—they gave excellent recommendations when we weren't sure what to order, and they were so sweet and patient with our six-year-old. Everything we ate was fresh and perfectly balanced. The coffee is outstanding, and they have a really cool selection of unique add-ins. I highly recommend trying the blueberry lavender espresso latte. We will definitely be back!“

“I went into this store early this afternoon to buy three beverages. As always, the menu is quite diverse and offered a great variety of beverages, both hot and cold. Also, as always, the barista/servers were very helpful, friendly, and professional. What made this particular visit stand out, however, was a young man named AARON. I saw him bringing supplies from the back of the store to the serving area and then go to other parts of the store where he meticulously wiped down and cleaned all the services where people’s food and cups might touch. I was quite impressed with his efforts. As a retired Judge, most of the young men that I had seen of AARON’s age were in court because they were either hurting someone, stealing from someone, or doing drugs. In this case, I saw a young man working during the holidays, making the restaurant comfortable for others. I went over to him and asked his name and told him how much I respected what he was doing. His conduct in the store was so different than the conduct that I was used to seeing exhibited by young men who appeared before me in court. In my opinion, AARON is a definite asset to this store.

“I’ve been coming to Brooklyn Bagels regularly for a couple years now. I know the staff, I’m friendly, I tip, and I genuinely like the place — which is why this is frustrating to write.
The issue isn’t one bad order, it’s consistency.
Yesterday my bagel wasn’t cut, barely toasted, and had cold butter. I brought it back (first time I’ve ever had to do that), and they fixed it.
Today I get this — over-buttered, uneven, still not properly toasted, and honestly just sloppy.
This isn’t a complicated product. It’s a bagel. Cut it, toast it, butter it, serve it hot. That should be the easiest thing to get right every time.
When you’re a regular customer, you’re not expecting perfection — just consistency. Right now, that’s missing.

I’m not writing this to bash the place, but because I know they can do better than what’s been coming out lately.“

“Full disclosure - I dont drink coffee. I do drink tea and they have some interesting choices for tea flavors. It's a great place to meet for an informal meeting (one-to-one or maybe small groups). They serve breakfast as well, but I've not tried that (looks and smells good, but I can't comment on taste yet).“

“Made a late-evening stop at Starbucks before hitting the road again. Were greeted by unorthodoxly kind, gracious, superlative service the likes of which we had never experienced, nor known possible, at this establishment. My spouse has been frequenting Starbucks for a few decades and this is the very first time our jaws were left ajar, to be scraped off the floor; kindness is rarified enough as is in this world, but Angel (who carries a wildly appropriate name) was the epitome of humanity and goodness. Dare I say if everyone treated one another the way he cared for two strangers, with unequivocal warmth, professionalism, benevolence and generosity, this world would look a whole lot different than it currently does. Popped in for cold brews and teas; left with warm hearts and soft smiles that lasted our two-hour drive back home to the coast. I am not a corporate or chain person, but I am a soul and humanity person, and will frequent this specific location in future visits to Winter Park solely for said magnanimity. If ever there was someone who merits a steep promotion, it's this one. If Angel headed Starbucks, I would likely drink coffee and have less of an aversion to corporations, too.“
