“I was a first timer here with my friend & we lucked out and got Darlin! She was the best! She made really great suggestions on some of the food and best house drinks. She even made sure we didn't have any food allergies. We shared the coconut shrimp and chicken wings & they were fantastic. 🍤🍗 My friend had the jerk shrimp pasta and she enjoyed it. I had the seafood paella & it was packed with flavor. 😋 The dragon fruit margarita & Bahama mama were both delicious.🍹 We were too stuffed to try dessert. We did enjoy the live music & the game playing in the background. 🎸🎶 🏈 I'll be back & I hope I get Darlin! Thank you for such wonderful service! You rock! 🤗“

“I had to leave a review because I witnessed something that really showed the kind of heart this restaurant has. While I was waiting in line, a worker came in to change out the floor mats — I think he was one of their sanitation or delivery vendors — and once he finished, the lady working (possibly the owner) offered him food. That small gesture stood out to me so much. It showed how much she values and takes care of the people who support her business.
The food was amazing, but the kindness and energy here made the experience even better. You can tell this place is run with real love and respect. Definitely one of those hidden gems that deserves all the support.🥰“

“I want to express my overwhelming gratitude to Heather, our event coordinator, and Ivan, and Sam, our banquet staff. They made my daughter's baby sprinkle effortlessly amazing. I arrived early to add my special touches, and they made it easy to make last-minute adjustments with a few table arrangements. All in all, the space was so cozy, and everyone was so pleased with the location and a big hit with the omelet station. Some of our guests are locals, and did not know this restaurant location existed, but now they do! I give this historical location and the staff 10 out of 10. Can't wait for another event.“

“Place is really close to home so that's convenient. Good food. Best for takeout, not eating in. They don't speak much English so point to tell them what you want and they'll take care of you. I ordered the vegetable tray, since I'm not eating meat right now. It was seasoned to perfection and perfectly crispy brown. I didn't miss meat at all.“

“I would have liked to given 5 stars. The doubles were the best I've had in Florida. I craved a decent doubles and haven't had any good ones since moving from NY. I ordered the curry duck, and she did warn it was spicy. I'm a pepper freak I eat the hottest pepper sauce and cook with heavy pepper so I was cool to try it. This was made to hurt people seriously. There's no way you can sell that curry NO ONE can eat it if I can't. I also didn't like the sesame oil steam veg all over the top of it where I couldn't see exactly what I was eating. The decor was hilarious I loved the sarcastic signage and quotes all over the restaurant. My grams Grace and grandfather Mike sent me there. They send their regards to your daughter and miss your mom dearly. Thanks for the meal, please lower that pepper!!“

“Stopped by Avenue Blu on a Sunday afternoon after leaving another spot that was charging for valet in their own lot (no thanks!). The vibe here was chill and the service was friendly, but the food was just okay — not bad, just missing a little flavor. The presentation was nice though, and I’ll give them major props for free parking and no extra service charge. Overall, it’s a decent spot with good energy, just wish the food had a bit more kick to match the vibe.“

“Amazing food and amazing staff! We came on the day of Chris Brown's concert. We arrived a little after 1pm and there was one waitress, one bartender, and someone who appeared to be part of management. They were absolutely amazing. The staff went above and beyond! Bless their hearts because they truly were amazing and I hope they are recognized for their hard work. It was a full house and they made sure every table was taken care of.“

“As a vegan I was thrilled to see so many options for me to choose from. I had the Ital Stew and it was so so good. My husband had the "best Jerk Chicken ever" and I tasted the Black Cake he got for desert and it is divine. We will be making this a monthly date even though it's a good 45 minutes from home. It's worth the trip!“

“This is such a nice hidden gem. I had a short time for lunch on a weekday and wanted something good to eat. Looked up some places by me and this one came up. When I got there it doesn't look like a restaurant style but it is such a good place to eat. You can grab something already made and the selection is incredible or you can get something that requires some extra love. The food was delicious and a lot. Highly recommend.“

“The Shrimp & Company is a quaint seafood restaurant on the corner of 7th Ave and 22nd St in Ybor City. If you have walked past it headed for the restaurant across the street then you have missed the best seafood you could eat in Tampa. You have to try their Florida or Louisiana Steam Pot, any of the seafood baskets and their shrimp stuffed mondongo. The food and terrific service is worth another trip to the small family owned restaurant. Don’t miss it!“
