About Food For the Soul

Food For the Soul is a gem for soul food lovers. The atmosphere perfectly complements the delicious dishes served, making it feel like a visit to someone's Auntie's or Great-Grandmaw's house. The restaurant offers authentic, home-cooked meals that are a culinary folk art form. The owners, a mother-daughter duo, are dedicated to preserving original recipes and ensuring a warm welcome to all. The menu includes favorites like fried chicken, collard greens, fried okra, beans, and sweet potatoes. The fried chicken is so good that some customers do not even feel the need to use hot sauce. Despite its small size, the place is always filled with satisfied customers, both locals and travelers. Even close to closing time, fresh food is brought out, showing great customer service and a heart to ensure everyone receives respectful service. For a taste of the real South and a hearty meal, Food For the Soul is a must-visit and has quickly become a go-to restaurant for many.

I went there a few weeks ago, I got the ribs, squats casserole and Mac and cheese, and this just reminded me of my grandmother's cooking! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant, I just wish it was closer, but I will travel for food like this, I've sent so many people over, another one this morning actually, and thats what prompted this review! Keep up the good work guy!!!

A Shangri La for comfort food. Cool owner, very welcoming. Fantastic fried chicken, pork chops, chicken livers and okra plus deviled eggs, mac, collards, and cheese, much more. Outstanding value

Really enjoyed everything on the buffet on a busy yet relaxed Sunday afternoon. Attentive, caring staff and a wide assortment of delicious, homemade-style options including some of our favorites, fried catfish, chicken, pork chops and okra, black eyed peas, greens, cornbread, sweet potatoes, green beans and more. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town.
