I enjoyed the cocktails and the staff was great, but I was told they couldn't do loaded fries or chilli cheese fries even though they have the ingredients. The reasoning was "the chef doesn't allow anything that's not strictly on the menu." For a fine dining resturant I understand but for a bar this was just poor service from the chef. Especially since I frequent local 7 who has the same owner and I never have this problem.
Nice spot with some good food and beer. Appetizers are all really good. Pretzel bites with cheese, buffalo cauliflower, and mushroom quesadilla were winners. Fish and chips is solid. I got Shepherd's Pie and it had a ton of grease on the top. I scooped off 5-6 large spoonfulls, which is excessive IMO. This has happened twice now. The first time I chalked it up to the server having a bad day but since it’s happened again I simply just can’t. Both instances we have gone here to sit outside, they seem to have a great patio, however don’t get your hopes up about sitting on it.
