Had another great meal at Southbound. We were kidless for about an hour and a half Friday night so decided to do an impromptu date night. We grabbed two seated at the bar and really enjoyed the service from our bartender. We got the hot chicken sandwich and a side salad plus the cheeseburger minus the bun, everything was prepared perfectly. I know some folks on yelp aren't down with Southbound but we keep having really good meal there.
I stopped in on a quiet Saturday afternoon with a local buddy, and was reminded of how beautiful a space it was. I'd been there years before, when it was a coffeehouse, and they appear to have retained most of the interior. They were serving a reduced menu until 5pm, and the place was pretty empty. Great new place - that already feels like it's been there forever. Service wasn't perfect (forgot a couple of things that we had ordered), but it was a very busy Saturday night, and the waiter was very friendly and apologetic... And the food and beverages were excellent!
