“It’s always assuring when you see lots of local patronizing a place, because that tells you it is good. On the other hand, it’s easy to stand out as a tourist, because you’re the only ones reading the menu board. Everyone else already knows what they want because they’ve been there so many times.

But that observation aside, we completely enjoyed our meal. I went with the Beyond Burger with fries, while my wife had the Taco Salad. Mine was prepared perfectly, and while veggie burgers truly only need to be heated up to make them palatable, mine spent some quality grill time. The Taco Salad was primarily to my wife’s liking, although she did mention it could have used a little more flavor pop, the kind that would come from taco seasoning. The salsa that came with it was pretty tame and added little in this category. Still, we understand that it can be difficult to dial in flavor and spice intensity, with so much variability between diner preferences.

We did chuckle at one printed sign advising customers not to lose their mind if they don’t receive their food in the order things were purchased. Since everything is prepared onsite and to customer specification, some things take longer than others. This means the fellow who came in after you and ordered something simple may get his before you. It’s good advice, and something tells me they’ve had this happen more than once.

We weren’t keeping track of who ordered what or when. We just liked our meal and called it good. So should you.

Vegetarian options: They offer a nice rendition of the Beyond Burger.“

As any food lover knows, these are typically the places where you find the best meals, and Smith's is no exception. The place is run by three incredibly nice people who take your orders and cook your food right there. They were super kind and got our food to us quickly, which is always a plus.We went with the classic burger and fries, and you could tell immediately that the burgers were made from fresh ground beef, formed into patties with care. The fries were Ore-Ida crinkle cuts, but honestly, they were just right alongside the burger. With great prices and delicious food, I would 100% go here again.“

“We came in sunday morning we were greeted from waitress to cook to lady washing dishes Food came out fast and was good as usual. Service was great - very attentive. They topped off my coffee at least 4 times. I am impressed with the whole crew of Huddle House.i love how we can watch them move around each other and help each other out.not one member of that team was not doing something . We always come before church and it is something we will keep coming every Sunday morning . Kids love sitting at the bar top and talking to the person washing dishes and watching the cooks make the movie . we will tell others to come by for sure .great job everyone .the place was clean and love the country songs playing in the back. “Absolutely delicious baked goods. I tried some sort of fig bar and was amazed how something so simple could be so delicious. Idk what they put in there but it was amazing and so flavorful. The prices for pie especially are super reasonable. It was hard to decide on one. The coconut buttermilk pie is great and the fresh baked bread is soft and fluffy. They had always been closed during my visits to Helen but thankfully I finally caught them open. In fact it was Saturday before closing we stopped. Ate in our car and then noticed they would be closed the next two days and we wouldn't be able to get more so we went right back in to stock up. Really delicious! I will be back for that fig bar!“

“So doughnuts are great. Clearly they make them and were tasty. Building is old and rundown and they were doing drive-thru only on a Saturday morning when we went which means I guess they are currently always drive-thru only. Have to honk to get service. Dunkin was packed next door so clearly they would benefit from some help/marketing/improvments as their doughnuts are much better than dunkin. Will be back when we go thru, particularly now knowing how they operate.
