“My husband and I was looking for some place new to go for dinner and i found this place on the internet. We had never heard of it and it was close to our home so we decided to check it out. The set up is nice. I believe there are 3 or 4 dinning rooms. The staff was really nice and very attentive. We didnt make any reservations which they do prefer but they sat us still without a wait. The drinks were really good and they did not hold out on the amount of alcohol. Now the dinner. OMG Dinner was off the chain. I tip my hat off to the chef. I had the Honey Glaze Salmon and my husband is vegan so he had The Smoked spinach Asparagus Mashed potatoes and Brocolini. When I tell you this had to be the best food with so much flavor. We were more then pleased. The only complaint we have is the music got really loud. If couldnt hear each other even if you are sitting right next o each other. But other then that I will definitely return and I must say I am adding this to my list of best restaurants in Atlanta.“

“We visited The Red Phone Booth on 6/15 while in town for my cousin’s graduation. What no one knew was that I had just placed my mom on hospice and we had lost a cousin the same day—her sister and my mom’s baby sister were with us. Even in the middle of all that pain, we were shown such kindness. Sophia was amazing, and I even played pool with a member who didn’t know I could barely hold a cue. Excellent main dishes halibut, herb crusted lamp chops and filet. Healthy options available for vegetarians too! Great salads. Servers and fire dancers were an added bonus because they were fun and very friendly/helpful. (Managers could be friendlier.) Overall restaurant ambiance beautiful and eclectic. $25 fee for bringing our own birthday cake a bit ridiculous! Parking convenient $4 Parking fee expected but offers convenience to customers. “First of all, the atmosphere is great and the service is also very good.

As someone who is Taiwanese and who has worked as a chef before, I tend to hold Taiwanese food to a pretty high standard when writing reviews.

If you’re not familiar with Taiwanese cuisine, this is definitely a good place to give it a try. They include some authentic elements in their dishes.

The dry noodles are good, and the rice with braised pork sauce is also decent. It’s essentially the same braised pork sauce served over rice or noodles. Personally, I prefer minced pork belly with the skin on rather than a ground-pork texture, but the flavor itself is great.

The scallion pancakes and beef wrap are also very good. I found the soybean paste sauce to have a really nice balance of savory and sweet.

The fried tofu isn’t exactly traditional Taiwanese style, but it tastes great. It has a hint of numbing spice that isn’t overpowering.

The beef noodle soup was just okay. The meat is tender, but the herbs in the broth felt a little off and the soup could be more beefy and rich.

Overall, it’s definitely a nice place for a date night, and a good spot for people who aren’t familiar with Taiwanese food to give it a try.

A small suggestion for the chef/owner:

The biggest issue, in my opinion, is that the garnish sometimes takes away from the main flavors of the dish. Personally I like the dry noodles the best because they didn’t have too many extra garnishes.

For example, the pickled cabbage and cilantro on the rice and beef noodle soup might be a bit much. The sourness can overpower the meaty flavor of the pork sauce, and too much cilantro can throw off the balance.

I understand that many of these dishes are Taiwanese street food or snack items, where garnishes usually aren’t the focus. So perhaps keeping things simpler or serving the garnishes on the side could help highlight the main flavors even more.

“Went to this place wanting to love it which speaks a good bit for how big of a letdown it was. Night started out great host was super friendly came to pick us up from 9 mile station, once got in the bar god first round of drinks and that's where it started to go south. First round was fine no issues, ordered second round and it took almost an hour to get drinks, so once second round came out went ahead and ordered third knowing how long it was taking (was told bar was backed up due to a bachelor party that showed up of 5 or 6 people and there was probably only 20-30 people in the bar so didn't really make sense given the number of people on staff) second round I had heard about how the bartenders will make you a drink based off your taste which was the main appeal to this place ,so first drink was a maple old fashion, so second drink I told them I wanted to get something else based off maple.....they served me the exact same drink with a different brand of rye but added a $3 freestyle upcharge....finally had enough waiting after 2 and a half hours and only getting 3 or 4 drinks and actually went up to the bar to ask for the check since had gotten really burnt out on long wait times and the long stretches of I just want another drink....overall last drink was by far the best and would have liked another but the speed of the service at that point had totally killed the mood. Place 100% does not match the vibe they are trying to present so highly recommend going elsewhere which is sad because loved the concept“

“Lantana has always been my go-to spot, especially because of Wendy. The service is consistently great, the food is always delicious, and the drinks are a perfect 10 out of 10. I’ve been coming here for years, so I was a little disappointed not to see Wendy this time. I actually decided not to stay because, honestly, I’m not familiar with the other staff.

“Tabby was in town and in usual Tabby flow she was exploring the atlasobscura website and came across The Consulate. As such, we decided to go. We had reservations for 06:15 on a Friday. Arriving about 20 minutes early as traffic happened to be light, we were able to be seated early without any issues. Upon entering the restaurant the hallway decor captures your attention as you focus on the selected hues of blue and artwork placement. Upon being seated we were immediately greeted by Cindy. Cindy arrived all smiles coupled with a huge personality and warm welcome. Cindy’s education of the menu and experience with the foods added to the food deciding experience. Major shout out to Cindy. The ambiance of the restaurant is high energy, captivating and explorative. As you look around the restaurant it puts you in the mindset of being inside one of the classic true to theme castles in an Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider movie. LoL! At any moment Laura Croft could walk in and grab one of the items on display and head out for her next mission. LoL! I decided on the String Beans with a side of Mexican Rice and I was more than satisfied with the flavor profile of my meal. The string beans were flavor stacked with the slight sweet from the sauce and the spice from the peppers. The texture was spot on for a true sautéed experience as well as the portion was perfect… The Mexican rice paired well with the string beans as it provided a texture variation as well as it was seasoned well but not overpowering in comparison to the string beans. This was truly a 10/10 experience. The service, the environment, and the food were all superb. Whether for a personal 2 person dinner or after work friend vibe, The Consulate is truly a must try for any occasion.“

“So, my amazing boss treated the team to Kitty Dare for our holiday dinner. It was so amazing- I couldn’t get it off my brain so I came back tonight (two nights later, lol) to eat it again. Now, when we went as a group, we were served family style apps and entrees. We had their hummus, Greek salad, and an eggplant dish that had a nice kick to it for starters. Dinner was salmon over coucous, rice cakes, grilled asparagus, and amazing airline chicken dish, their 8hour bolognese, and one other dish I can’t remember but all were incredible. “We were deep in it, man, buried under papers and numbers and the hum of a future house, my wife glowing at seventeen weeks pregnant and me wired tight, scared to look away for a second in case the whole thing slipped through my fingers. Two days into due diligence and my mind was racing miles ahead of my body. Still, we said yes to Banshee. Said yes to friends we hadn’t seen in too long. Said yes to the night.

We walked in, and the place was already moving, already alive, music breathing through the walls, people leaning into each other, and then boom, there’s another close friend we didn’t expect, just standing there like the universe pulled a fast one and winked at us. That’s when I knew we were in the right spot. The kind of right you feel in your chest before you can explain it.

Our friends arrived, and we fell straight into it, stories tumbling out, laughter loud and loose, a little trash talk, a little love, all of it sweating the worry right out of our skin. Hours slipped by unnoticed, four of them gone like smoke, and it felt like time cracked open and let us rest inside it for a while.

The food kept coming, and each bite felt like a small revelation. Frybread slick with pepperoni butter, rich and reckless. Focaccia snapping just right. Duck seared hard and honest. I was full of warmth and noise and light and that deep-down feeling that this was it, that I was right where I was supposed to be, about to be a father, holding my wife’s hand, surrounded by friends, alive in the middle of it all.

Outside, the night grew louder. Bass from nearby bars thumped through the street. Cars flew down Glenwood like they were chasing something. I knew it couldn’t last forever. Nothing does. But before it ended, one of the owners came over smiling and dropped desserts on the table, no charge, just because. That kind of thing sticks with you.

When Banshee leaned fully into the night, and the room turned electric, something in me loosened. The pressure eased. The future didn’t feel so heavy. I felt like maybe, just maybe, I could run this life clean and true.

“My fellow traveler and I stopped by on our way home to Virginia. It was a long day of travel, delayed flights, we just wanted to sit down and chill. We didn’t expect much out of an airport restaurant… But we were both blown away. Our server, Tarvis, was charming, professional, knowledgeable, and exceptional. The BLT with bacon jam, and the rice pudding with cinnamon and peaches was superb. (I could’ve eaten a whole jar of the bacon jam.) Tarvis, thank you for making two weary travelers leave your restaurant with pep in their step Keep on shining your light. And to any traveler who is leery of a place that serves a hamburger and a sushi roll… Fear not. This place is great.“

“July 05, 2025 Greetings, This evening, I had the opportunity to celebrate my 40th birthday, and to mark the occasion, my partner and I chose to dine at a fine dining establishment in downtown Atlanta. Regrettably, after we visited your downtown Atlanta location, it became clear that my hope for an outstanding dining experience was unlikely to be met. Upon our arrival, we had to wait despite having made a reservation several hours earlier. Eventually, we were seated at a table no larger than a nightstand. I immediately observed that, unlike the other tables, the candle on ours was unlit. This should have served as an indication of the service to follow. Once seated, we were presented with the menu and asked for two sweet teas. Soon after, we placed our orders. After waiting twenty minutes, we realized that our drinks had been forgotten. We subsequently reminded our waitress that we had ordered two sweet iced teas. After an additional ten minutes, our drinks arrived. Fifteen minutes later, our food finally arrived. Upon its arrival, I noticed a sticky substance around the $75 steak I had ordered. After considerable effort to cut into it, I tasted the meat and found it to be overcooked—its flavor reminiscent of a meal unintentionally left on the grill by an intoxicated cook. It was unsatisfactory, and I requested a remake. At this point, we had spent over an hour at your restaurant, and the staff began cleaning up. Finally, around 12:05 a.m., the re-cooked steak was brought out. Although it was an improvement over the first, it still did not merit the price of $75. Given that my potatoes were cold and the minimal ice in my refilled iced tea had melted, I opted to forgo the steak altogether. My partner, who is more willing to accept mediocre service, encouraged me to take the steak back to the hotel, which led us to request a to-go box. Ten minutes later, we received a small cardboard box, barely big enough for my food. Further, we were not offered anything to carry the sauce in, utensils, or even a bag. Shortly after, we received our bill, which totaled approximately $195.00, excluding gratuity. At that moment, I was overwhelmed with emotion and informed my partner that I needed a few minutes outside to collect my thoughts. I found it challenging to rationalize $200 for a meal arguably valued at $20 and customer service worth $10. Despite my objections, my partner insisted on refraining from discussing this matter with a manager. He wanted to avoid any conflict on my birthday. While I appreciate his noble intentions, I possess a strong aversion to inequality in any form. The treatment we received in an establishment that professes luxury and exemplary customer service was inadequate and perhaps a sign of your treatment towards Minority LGBT customers. We deserved a better experience. Although my birthday weekend was great, this experience was horrible. I am genuinely disappointed with my visit to your Atlanta location. “We really enjoyed our dinner here!

We started with the bread. It came out with butter and olive oil. This was 10/10

Then we got the frites and French onion soup. The French fries were AMAZING. They came with different dips.

The soup was to die for and super filling.

The burger, the chicken schnitzel and bolognese were great but I would definitely recommend the schnitzel.

We had outdoor seating which was a little chilly for this time of year but the space heaters helped a lot. Definitely make reservations!“
