I was literally dancing while eating it 😂 I’ve never had soup like this before and I already can’t wait to go back. Plus, the owner was incredibly friendly and helpful, made the whole experience even better.“

“I discovered A Taste of the Island by accident a few months back and I have been on it ever since. Every time I go, the service is good. The food is fresh, and the price point is a great value for the portion size and quality of food.

My go-to quick meal is a Beef Patty with Coco Bread. Now, the beef patties are good and flavorful so you gotta get them early as they usually run out during the day (I get two when I go). The coco bread is always thick, fresh and very buttery. It is great by itself as well as with the patty.

For a main entreè my go-to is the Brown Stew Chicken with Rice and Peas and Steamed Cabbage. Babeeeeeeee. It is a 10/10 every single time. It’s never a miss. The chicken is meaty, well flavored, and perfectly tender. The rice and peas are flavor and tender and hiit even harder with that brawn stew gravy. And that cabbage! My my my, this is steamed cabbage done right.

I’m on a personal mission to try everything at A Taste of the Island, however, the Brown Stew Chicken has me in a hold at the moment. LoL!!!

“I LOOOOOVEEEE THEIR FOOD! The jerk chicken is absolutely AMAZING! ITS THE BEST JERK IVE EVER HAD! The flavors will make your taste buds explode! I've been eating from here for the last 3 years and I've never been disappointed! The owners are always nice and the patties and plantains are delicious! These people have the BEST sweet plantains, I've been to other places and nothing compares!

Also the prices and portions are beyond reasonable. I normally eat off of my plate for atleast 2 days!“

I love the vibe, it seems like a chill calm classy vibe where you can come in be relaxed while you order, get your food, and youre good to go.“

“I was visiting from Boston and was pleasantly surprised to find an authentic jamaican food restaurant in the neighborhood. The food was great. I wished I had gone back before I left but they closed at 7pm, which is the only complaint I could offer.“

Every question I had was answered with a smile, and he even offered me a sample of a dish I was hesitant to try. That gesture alone showed me how confident he was in the quality of the food they serve.

I’ve been back several times since that first visit, and the experience has remained consistently excellent. Kevin always greets me with a smile, and at this point, he even knows my order and prepares my plate with care.
