50 Best Chinese Restaurants near Forest Park

“Golden Gate is a gem that is known to Forest Park locals , but deserves wider recognition. I’ve been eating here for a good 15 years myself , and I was late to the party .
I just eat the Americanized stuff myself, but for those wanting they have authentic Mandarin and Cantonese dishes as well. I always see a large contingent of Chinese and other Asians dining here .

The hot and sour soup and the General Tso’s chicken are both the best I’ve ever had , also I really like the Pepper Steak and the Golden Gate Sizzling delight . The rice is perfect .

The folks here are so nice , and you get a really generous portion for a very reasonable price !

“JenChan’s is a friendly neighborhood hangout with an amazing menu, friendly waiters, and a wide selection of games. The food is always fantastic and the drinks are always strong & cold. I would recommend the ginger margarita slushies, the fried mushrooms, and any of the pizzas!!!“

“I stop in at this PF Changs regularly, as I fly through ATL frequently. I always have great experiences. I do typically take advantage of their yummy breakfast menu but I love that I can also order traditional lunch/dinner food. Today, I just sat at the bar, as I was traveling alone. Danielle took amazing care of me. The food was delicious and fast. The drink was fantastic and, again, Danielle’s service far exceeded my expectation. Cant wait to stop in next week, when I come back through ATL!“

Very polite and nice lady at the register which is very unusual for most Asian establishments when it comes to black people in particular and I truly appreciate that. “The food here is really good, especially for the price and large size portions. It's not fancy but It's american style Chinese food done well, it's the best Chinese food restaurant in the area I've eaten at. Also the burger is pretty good, it's a premade patty but it's delicious and better than any fast food. It has a really backyard BBQ taste to it, better than cookout across the street imo. I get food from here weekly. The Lo Mein is especially good!!! but heads up they use bean sprouts which I omit. The mix burger with fried rice is a staple, I remove the chicken nuggets and eat them with the rice and cut up the hotdog and it back on the burger which is really good btw. It's a large meal for 12 bucks or whatever and delicious. The Cheese steak here is surprisingly good, I get no mustard but you can do what you like 🙂“

“My son and I have a lot of work and we're very hungry. We saw that there was a chinese restaurant and the area So we checked it out. We ordered the lunch, general chicken and beef lo mein. Food was good, not the best i've ever had, but I definitely good! (Expensive- Wash D.C. prices) CHINA TASTE off Powers Ferry so far holds the crown.“

“I came to Hot Cafe twice in one week—that’s how good it was.

First visit: I ordered the chicken pho and wow… the broth alone was amazing, almost giving ramen vibes. I also tried the fried chicken wings and the flavor was on point.

Second visit: My cousin got the red coconut curry tofu and it was absolutely amazing. I had the pineapple chicken fried rice, and once again—the flavor did not disappoint.

The Thai tea was great, though I do wish there were a dairy-free option since it’s made with half-and-half. That said, I don’t even like bananas, but their banana egg roll dessert was scrumptious.

The atmosphere is no-frills, but the customer service is a solid 10/10. Friendly, welcoming, and consistent food quality.

“Just got out of school and was looking for something to eat, saw this place online and took a gamble and I’m glad I did. Everything was cooked well and seasoned well. I ordered sweet & sour chicken with rice and broccoli on the side. The chicken had a good taste and a nice crunch and the sweet & sour sauce that came with it was very good and tangy. My broccoli had other veggies and some soy sauce poured on top which wasn’t too salty but wasn’t bland either, I enjoyed every veggie. I would’ve given 5 stars if my rice was seasoned a little more but overall I had a good experience and there portions sizes are very nice!“

“My family ordered food from there last night and as we were eating my son pulled something out of his rice. We looked at it to discover it was a roach leg. This was enough to ruin us ever wanting to return. It is sad because they are friendly and food is good but we also noticed a bin of wontons sitting in the dining area. Be careful eating there. “I grew up on China Cafeteria in the West End but overtime its quality went downhill. With getting tired of eating at the same restaurants, I checked out the reviews for this location. Surprisingly, they were good. I went and the customer service was absolutely phenomenal. The young guy that works in there has the most positive attitude and good conversation. The food taste like what I remember from childhood. The lemonade is a must have! The place is very old and outdated which is normally a turnoff. If they would do something about its appearance, I guarantee it'll bring in more customers. For a quick, cheap meal, this is a go to every now and then. This location does not serve lo mein :(“

“Let me let y’all know about this Chinese spot!!! I originally moved here being a native New Yorker and had a taste for some chicken and broccoli. Seemed like the other restaurants wasn’t hitting. I decided to give them a try after being in GA for about 2 months. Everything about them is customer service. Friendly welcomes, patience and most importantly FRESH and HOT food. They honestly are the only ones I go to and been loyal to from the time I moved here back in 2017. Not a buffet not another Chinese restaurant just China One. I have now relocated to another part of GA after living in Clayton county for about two years and I drive to them and spend my money with them faithfully for that taste that I want. If y’all don’t know now y’all know (in the words of Biggie Small) I totally approve and stand behind this restaurant especially if I’m driving 45 to an hour out just to get me my lunch special which if y’all go between the hours of 10-3:30 only available Tuesday thru Friday they offer that same quality food they make on a regular for a very affordable price and they hook the plates up. They know me on a family level! 🤣 When I walk in they know me for the no bamboo shoot and extra sauce on the side. Making me feel good because I am a committed woman. “I've been sick for over a week and lost 7lbs. My throat & congestion have been awful. Wednesday was the first day I was hungry, and I ordered the hot & sour and wonton egg drop soups. I CAN BREATHE. My congestion cleared, and the viscosity of the egg drop coated my throat. I ate the soup Wednesday, Thursday, and tonight.

“Great place, came through as part of the carnival and craved Chinese food. Place was practically across the street, it looks like most other Chinese food restaurants and the food was ready in 15 minutes. Honey chicken was perfect, fried rice was better than any other place I've been, and the wonton soup was more al dente than anywhere I've been but I think I prefer a wonton dumpling that stays on the fork rather than a soft one that won't stay on the fork or chopsticks. I'll be back regularly while we are here and probably next year as well.“

“I was treated by a friend to Mr Everything and let me tell you. IT WAS EVERYTHING and SOME! I had the Chicken Over Rice dish. I'm tempted to drive the 40 minutes back over there to order more. The food smelled so good and the presentation of the dish was nicely put together. My mom taught us presentation is everything. The food was seasoned perfectly. If you haven't tried Mr. Everything, I recommend that you do because it was "fire" which to young people is pretty darn cool.“

“The Chinese restaurant that reminds you of New York City Chinese. I love the fact that they have crazy deals on Uber EATS like a buy one get one on the Sesame chicken. Great portions.

They also have reasonable prices that are usually lower than most other bougie Chinese restaurants.

Usually, when I have an issue. It’s mostly just them slightly over cooking the chicken, but having recently asked them not to do that. It has really made the difference and I must say I could also tell the quality also improved as well. Totally recommend. Be sure to also try their Yum Yum sauce especially with the white rice or fries. Hell maybe even with their wings.“

“Good and cheap Chinese food spot. It reminds me a bit of China Express AKA “dollar scoop”. They advertise their food as 1 scoop for either $1.50 or $1.75 (I can’t quite remember). I was able to get a plate with lo mein, black pepper chicken, bourbon chicken, butter shrimp and a spring roll for under $10! All the food was delicious except for the spring roll. It was hard and had too much ginger or something inside it. I’ve visited twice recently and had good experiences. But I will say it pays to order in person, because the first time I used doordash to order online and go pick it up myself and it was almost $6 more for the same amount of food!“

I have the General Chicken and the Mandarin Chicken, both of which were really good. What I like about this place is that it reminds me of good takeout places I went to in college, but it doesn't "taste like every other Chinese place". You know how lots of restaurants seem to use the same orange sauce? Not this place, it was different in all the right ways. So a few days later I ordered it again but this time it was a bit later in the evening. After 9pm too and guess what, the Muthafawka was even better than the last time! Perfect mane!.
