“What a hidden gem! After getting turned away at a nearby noodle spot, we gave this place a shot, and wow, we’re so glad we did! We’ve driven by countless times, unsure because of the “burrito” sign, but this spot blew us away.

The ramen? My mother-in-law couldn’t stop raving about it. My wife devoured the pork gyoza and spring rolls, and I went all in on the tempura shrimp and California rolls, every bite was packed with flavor! Super fresh, super tasty, and way beyond what we expected.

“This is the first time I have been to a Taco Mac and glad I went. Have a large menu with lots sports bar kind of food. I had 2 different kind of wings (mild buffalo and garlic Parmesan). I recently enjoyed a fantastic lunch with my son at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. The friendly host quickly seated us, and our server promptly arrived with warm, buttery croissants and took our drink order.

We started with delicious cheese curds, and our main courses were equally impressive. My son's chicken and shrimp dish was a hit, while I indulged in the renowned country-fried steak with a generous side salad and creamy mashed potatoes.

The portions were incredibly generous
– the side salad could have easily been a meal on its own!

The combination of excellent food, attentive service, and affordable prices made for a truly enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal.“

“Went here for breakfast a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was pretty chill for a late morning. Ordered plate of biscuits and gravy with red hot sausage and an orange juice. The gravy was smooth and warm with the red hot giving a good amount of spice. Very curious to see what else was offered, I returned a few days later to get a burger to go as is advertised on their sign up front. The burger was surprisingly juicy and delicious. What even more surprising was learning that Mama Ruth’s has been around since 1975! With a diverse menu and friendly customer service, I can see why it has continued to thrive.“

“Have been here several times. Very good food although I would not recommend the fried mushrooms. Out of everything I have tried on their menu, that is the only thing I did not like. Their milkshakes are excellent and be strong when you order their spicy flavored hot wings because they will light you up.“

“I live in Flowery Branch but recently took over Auto Fitness in Gainesville and I have been looking for a place just like Sweet Magnolia's. When my daughter visited me for lunch I thought we would try it out and I am so glad that we did. The minute we walked in I thought the place looked great and felt so clean. Made it to the counter and was told that it was family owned an everything was made fresh. We were made aware of the specials, the bread and the soup of the day. I am a Rueben sandwich nut and it's so hard to find a really good, authentic one and they nailed it. Fresh corned beef the right amount of sauerkraut and the thousand island was perfect. My daughter got the Cuban and it was also made to perfection. I understand the importance of word of mouth and reviews and if you haven't been to Sweet Magnolia's you've got to visit, you won't be disappointed. Now that I have found them, it will be my go to when I am craving something healthy (great salad menu) or just a fresh sandwich. Oh, the potato salad was so fresh and great as well. Thanks to this great place for changing the way I will be experiencing lunch, I'll be bringing members of my team here weekly as a reward for their work. Looking forward to coming back. However, it is hard to beat their hot breakfast pancakes, powder sugar dusted French toast, cheddar scrambled eggs, home fries with onions, country-fried steak with scrumptious brown gravy, french fries, fried grouper filets, delicious tiny green lima beans, fresh-brewed sweet iced tea, generous fresh-cut lemon wedges, tasty spaghetti with meat sauce, complimentary jalapeño and lime juice marinated cucumbers, juicy fried chicken legs, crisp corn muffins, home baked brownies, and the hard to find 18-item deluxe salad bar. Those crunchy croutons really rock! The refreshing bite-sized cut-up fruit dishes are an additional favorite, as well as a healthy dessert choice. The only entree I don’t personally care for is the fried salmon patties. ( In my culinary opinion. they need more chopped onions and lemon juice in the mix to cut the fishy flavor.) However, many diners relish them topped with white gravy. I just cannot say enough good comments about this fine eatery and the quality individuals who frequent here. Come sample their cafeteria-style offerings. Many local people frequent this hot spot daily with good reason. Their food is great. You will not be disappointed.“

“We got there right as the place opened for dinner and were politely greeted. We were seated in a corner booth that was intimate and in a nice little spot for a date, but the table had chunks taken out of it. It was a bit off putting for me not to be able to look around too, but I’m sure if I’d asked they’d have moved us. The table being messed up wasn’t a great impression, though. We were given ice water.
We ordered the Spring Roll & Tom Kha bowl as appetizers. The spring rolls came in a set of 2 & were the same basic generic spring rolls you’d get at many other restaurants- they were quite good. The soup was tasty and made me feel warm & toasty inside.

Masaman Curry is my favorite Thai dish and I try it everywhere I go to eat this kind of food. This one was a winner- the sauce was thicker than I’ve ever had it anywhere. This dish came with a first on the side for me (avocado) and the coconut milk base curry was sweet and mild with a hint of peanut flavor. In it was mixed potatoes, carrot and cashew nuts; I opted for tofu as well. My only regret is that I wish there had been more. It came with a heaping side of rice.
We got the Spicy Basil mild, and the stir fry came our tasting of a grill, mixed with onions, basil leaves, bamboo and sautéed mixed vegetables. I didn’t realize it wouldn’t have any kind of sauce. I asked about it and they advised it comes dry. I hinted at wanting some sort of sauce on the side to my date but he said we have sauce at home and so this dish is waiting in the fridge to be doctored up and eaten (we were full after sharing the other things).

There was Halloween candy at the front of the store. They charged a card fee, which I wish they’d told me about in advance. I didn’t use the restroom there so I can’t attest to that. The service was adequate and they were very nice, but nothing wowed me. The table being all chunked up was kind of yuck too.

Either way I would definitely eat there again- there’s not really any other options for Thai in Gainesville except one other spot with hours I never seem to make. Also the Masaman was really great. I spent a little over $40 which is decent. It was a truly okay experience.

“Quaint authentic Mexican restaurant. Having lived 6 years in Mexico, I know authentic! I ordered the Torta Regia. LOADED with refried beans, pineapple, country fried thin steak, lettuce, tomato, avacado, jalapeño, and panela cheese. SO GOOD!Very friendly staff. Google says they're open until 9pm. We showed up just before 8. We realized they were closing after we ordered, but they were super friendly and not annoyed at us. All the staff wore masks, and wore them PROPERLY. Very happy about that. We don't live in Gainesville, but we will come back!!“

“There pizza is absolutely amazing and the price is just as reasonable as and the food taste better than pizza hut or papa johns. The toppings are of great proportion and well placed the atmosphere is perfect for family or couples dining. There staff was so polite and helpful. However, we were disappointed that we had to wait about 15 minutes before our server ever came over to get our drink order. Could have been new and training, willing to give the benefit of the doubt. “We used to frequent this place every week. When they closed we were very sad. Upon reopening we have had 1 good experience every time we have tried it. Really hate this as we loved this place. Tonight our server did not listen to anything we ordered. 3 meals came out wrong. 3 drink orders came out wrong. We ordered a cheese dip after we were seated only to have to remind the server about it 30 mins later. I really do not know if it is limited staffing as they look fully staffed. All I can say is I truly miss this place before it closed for so many months. Think we are done giving them chance after chance.“

And the price was decent...my kid got a kids meal so we ate for $25....spend that much at a fast food joint...and was so much better than fast food.“
