“I had a delightful lunch here today. I’m visiting Gainesville under difficult circumstances because a loved one is currently hospitalized, and I was looking for something comforting that wasn’t fast food. I happened to spot this restaurant, saw the photos of the food, and decided to give it a try.
I’m so glad I did. Overall, this meal was exactly what I needed today: comforting, flavorful, and served with genuine hospitality. If I’m ever back in Gainesville, I’ll definitely return.“

“People.. you're paying for quality of food, service, location and ambiance. It's worth it. If you dont want to pay, go to waffle house. This spot is nice and a cute place to come on a brunch date or with girlfriends. BANANA BREAD, CHICKEN AND WAFFLES AND CHICKEN SANDWHICH were all amazing. Portions were great as well. We took home half of everything! Highly recommend!“

“The food and drinks shine, the service delivers, and the ambiance is fine but not memorable. The food is outstanding, and the chef consistently turns out exceptional dishes. The drinks are top‑tier and priced well, with specialty cocktails that rival those at high‑end speakeasies—without the usual crowds or inflated prices. Service was excellent, and while the ambiance was perfectly acceptable, it didn't quite rise to the level of the food and drinks.“

“Original menus that change daily, or there about. Every time I visit Georgia I get Rico’s for dinner. Food is always delicious and the flavors are original. Truly the chef’s restaurant! It’s usually a yearly birthday thing also. I appreciate his use of fresh local ingredients and his support of local growers. We can all pay it forward when we start with the best ingredients and intentions. It’s a good thing…..“

“This is a shout out to the best group of servers on planet earth. Today my family was at Fish Tales enjoying lunch when my grandmother suddenly had a medical crisis that at first appeared to be a stroke or cardiac event (ps - she is now fine). The entire restaurant of servers sprung into action - called 911 for us, made her a cold compress, got her some ice, guided the EMTs to us when they arrived, and basically took care of us in every possible way while we dealt with the crisis (with the help of 2 nurses who happened to be dining there too). They were all incredibly on the ball but also not obtrusive, just absolutely wonderful. I can’t imagine any of them were trained for medical emergencies or were expecting to deal with something like this on their shift, but they could not have been more professional, attentive, and caring. We are all so grateful. A truly incredible, impressive team!“

“Brooke did a wonderful job training the newer Brooke! This was my first time here, my wife ate just about everything on the menu, she is a type two diabetic. I tell you what she can put it down, and We will definitely be back just for the value of the food. My wife had the brisket Philly cheesesteak, fried green tomatoes, two Keylime pies, and four diet sodies. All for a great price.“

“Hard to find this experience less than 100% whenever you go there. We love Bleu cheese with our filet and when the steak was delivered, we realized we hadn't requested it (our mistake), the team delivered in less than 5 minutes and made us extremely happy

“I've eaten here many times for breakfast and once or twice for lunch. I've always enjoyed it. The food and folk are great. The people are always friendly. Biscuits are soft and warm. Eggs are nice and fluffy. And they are one of the few places in Hall County that does large smoked and breakfast sausages that are scrumptious. Only negative is their coffee. Not sure what they do, but it never tastes right, even when being a blend I use at home and like.“

“I live in Flowery Branch but recently took over Auto Fitness in Gainesville and I have been looking for a place just like Sweet Magnolia's. When my daughter visited me for lunch I thought we would try it out and I am so glad that we did. The minute we walked in I thought the place looked great and felt so clean. Made it to the counter and was told that it was family owned an everything was made fresh. We were made aware of the specials, the bread and the soup of the day. I am a Rueben sandwich nut and it's so hard to find a really good, authentic one and they nailed it. Fresh corned beef the right amount of sauerkraut and the thousand island was perfect. My daughter got the Cuban and it was also made to perfection. I understand the importance of word of mouth and reviews and if you haven't been to Sweet Magnolia's you've got to visit, you won't be disappointed. Now that I have found them, it will be my go to when I am craving something healthy (great salad menu) or just a fresh sandwich. Oh, the potato salad was so fresh and great as well. Thanks to this great place for changing the way I will be experiencing lunch, I'll be bringing members of my team here weekly as a reward for their work. Looking forward to coming back. “We arrived about 30 minutes prior to their posted closing time. We are quick to order and typically eat quickly. They seemed hesitant to seat us, I actually called from the host stand to request to be seated as everyone was avoiding us. Once we were seated, our server was great and the food was decent.“

“Ordered take-out (shrimp pad thai, honey walnut shrimp w/ mango and peas, wonton soup, egg drop soup, egg roll). Shrimp entree came with fried rice. Had some bad food from other local chinese restaurants and came to the conclusion it's just better if I cook this stuff myself, so I was worried about ordering so much food from a place I'd never tried before, but everything was delicious. Definitely gained a new regular.“
