“When in Savannah Ga. a must stop is Squealing Hog BBQ. Super friendly owner Chris and his staff are very welcoming. Big portions recommend the fall of the bone ribs and the pulled pork sandwich. Great bbq sauces to choice from. My wife and I were new visitors from NY and Chris offered us to try both his delicious Mac and cheese and his corn bread hush puppies. Everything was outstanding. “I met with my Spiritual Sistehood for Lunch and celebrate someone's birthday.. Due to unexpected circumstances I arrived much later.
Although I didn't place an order the food presentation was appealing. The meal was hot and there were healthy portions served. My sisters suggested the green fried tomatoes, greens, etc. They all gave a five star review and insisted that we return at a later date, so I can experience the food as well.
The restaurant is located in the Thunderbolt area just before you cross the bridge is closer to Johnny Mercer Blvd.
I love the open floor plan and you can view the inside of the restaurant wall to wall since it offers a clear glass panoramic view.
It is wheelchair accessible and offers ample uncontested parking. The staff is friendly and greet you immediately when you enter. It was good to see staff members who offer a genuine smiling face for a change. You will love this restaurant.
It is definitely a place where you would like to come again and again.

“5 Jun ‘26 Today the sun was hot as hell, stood in line about 20 minutes today with 7 people ahead of me when I got there and a dozen or more behind me when I left. Was worth the wait though. Delicious as usual. Slab of ribs for $20 is the best deal anywhere and my family enjoys the ribs every single time. Also the cook is a friendly hard working guy hope he knows that he’s appreciated. 1 April’26 2ish. 5 Stars. Stood in line for a while today but it was worth it. Got another slab of ribs for $25. I have lived in Savannah all my long life and traveled the world and I’m telling you that I have never had a better slab of ribs anywhere, not in this state or any other state. Randy’s ribs are tasty, tender, and cooked perfectly every time. Also Randy’s is generous with delicious sauce unlike most places that give you little condiment cup and charge you if you want more. 11 Mar ‘26 1:45ish. 5 Stars! So tired of overpriced fat tough ribs so today I decided to find a new place. Found this tiny run down place on Wheaton, probably at least a 100 year old building right on the road. You order at a window and go. No seating. Parking for maybe four cars if you drive over the curb. Meat and bread and bbq sauce only. Cash only. A full slab of lean tasty tender ribs and more than enough sauce for $25. Best price for the best ribs in town. See pic 1 and 2.“

“The food is Great but I find it offensive to pay $18 for a sandwich drink and side going through the drive thru Window then they want you to sign a ticket expecting a tip If I dine inside I tip generously for good service But tipping in drive through is ridiculous Jim n Nicks pay your employees I’m not tipping to be handed a bag“

“Ray is the BEST!!!! We had the best experience with him and his team for our wedding. Seriously where to even begin - from the tasting, to the planning and to the day of, we didn’t have to worry about a thing and knew the food would be AMAZING! Our guests still can’t stop talking about it a month later. We had the full low country experience from the shrimp and grits, to the low country boil, to the collard greens. Everything was amazing and we can’t recommend them enough!!!!“

“This is a spot I'd recommend for a decent bbq meal. It was affordable as well, professional service and honest staff. My mom who has dementia had accidentally forgotten her cellphone there, and a clerk held it until our family could track it. Really appreciate her honesty as it was an expensive IPhone. “Kind of a "hole in the wall" and by any means is that a bad thing but as we know these places always have the best food. Smokey's in Garden City and in my opinion has the best ribs ever. I also buy their sauce in jars I told her she should market it I have been going here at least 10 years. Tammy the owner is one of the best humans I've ever met, I got real sick a few years ago came in one day and couldn't hardly walk she gave me a hug and offered to take me to the doctor anytime I needed a ride, she is a wonderful Christian woman.“

“It started as a small comment while driving past in the middle of the night. “BARBECUE SHACK.” There, next to a convenience store, was a small wooden building marked BBQ Being from New York, there’s barbecue around... even good barbecue; but there is only so much that can go into the “big city restaurants”. Family is in the name, and family it is. We were treated as nothing less, and the love put into the food showed it. Massive portions, mouth watering tastes; several hours later, the full smoky flavors are still dancing in my mouth. I wish I had thought to take a picture, but when we’d had a taste... well, the rest of the platter didn’t last long enough anyways.
