“I was impressed with this location #1 the workers all looked to be teenagers but they were so calm and polite, very helpful when I inquired about the protein count on the Dbl Qp (didn't get it- $$) and #2 random act of kindness my fries & drink were FREE!! ? Great job guys!“

“I heard about The Black Coffee Company from someone this morning because they knew I was looking for a space to do some work with good coffee. I immediately drove over and when I tell you Crystal made me the Killer Mike and she made it a little sweet for me and Brianna topped my taste buds off with the avocado toast with everything on it. This is my new favorite spot. The music is great, not too loud that you can’t work but just right. I highly recommend them. They are a whole vibe.“

“This spot has got to be the most hardworking coffee shop in Decatur. They work so hard to be of service to our community. Through ups and down they have remained here for their community be it a solid coffee, nice place to work outside etc. This place is way too overlooked.“

“Best mocha!!!!! Had a very stressful day, and decided to treat myself with a fancy coffee. The lovely people behind the counter were so nice, especially the lady who recommended the best mocha, cookie butter, I think she said, and it was absolute perfection! ?? Chef's kiss!!! Thank you so much for your good energy and making my day so much better! ❤️ I visited Saturday, October 5th, 2024 around 4pm.“

“I had the most AMAAAZZZING ??? latte from here this morning. I typically have to douse my caffeine in sugar but after I was handed my iced caramel latte and took a sip I was IN LOVE!! The shots were pulled perfectly and I could ACTUALLY taste the notes in the espresso!!! The friendly staff added to my delicious drink and I hope to be back soon!!!“

“This place is really neat. Got a drip coffee and a plain latte. Espresso is good. They source their beans from Honduras, Colombia, and a few others. The shop has an industrial type vibe to it. You can see the roasting area from inside. They've got a nice outdoor space with seating. The parking lot is a bit small but there's limited parking also down the street. The barista and cashier were very friendly and answered all my questions in detail.
Parking: There are about 5-7 spots in the parking lot“

“Best cafe in the Virginia Highlands area by far!! Great place to study. There’s indoor and outdoor seating. Seats by the wall have 4 outlets. There’s no private parking lot, but there’s usually street parking nearby. Place is well decorated and feels homey. There’s trinkets on sale (they have print cards but not postcards). There’s a little couch area at the back of the merch place.
They have an amazing iced chai (it had flavor and wasn’t too sweet)! Loved it and would go again. Coffee isn’t overpriced, and they do have a stamp card where 10 drinks = half off.
-update-
I came back and tried their food and great pumpkin latte (which was like a PSL with hazelnut). Their bbq chicken sandwich was amazing, flavorful, and delicious. It came hot and packed a bunch of flavor.“

“First things first: Wine was out of this world.
Food was good but not great. The best thing we had was the beef empanada appetizer. Chicken Milanesa was like a pizza with a chicken crust; shrimp skewers were a little plain. Perhaps we needed to order beef and a South American place?“
“Thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere! We received a warm greeting from the door. The Sweet Potato Latte, Grits and Omni Bowl were all excellent. Highly recommend!“

“Loved every minute spent at Larakin! It's just a walk-up porch bar with umbrellas and seating. The wine selection was fantastic as was the tinned fish and other snack options. Had such a nice time here with my friend, can't wait to bring everybody I know back! PS. the playlist was incredible“

“Probably my favorite coffee shop ever. So good. My iced drink was served in a glass!!!“
“Such a cozy little shop. We had the best time catching up with friends and enjoying some delicious coffee this morning. The coffee is fantastic and the environment is super welcoming. A one of a kind and enjoyable experience that we relished every minute of it. The owner even came over and chatted with us for a bit and that was delightful as well. Definitely recommend!“

“Go for the coffee, stay for the mushroom quiche. Theres a certain level of expectation that comes from neighborhood coffee shops in nicer parts of Atlanta, sure. What's not necessarily expected is people who enjoy their job and who serve exquisite morning pastries. This mushroom quiche took a normal morning at a coffee shop and turned it into a memorable occurrence. I will now crave this pastry in the recesses of my mind: it has forever raised the bar for breakfast dining. I recommended to the very nice owners that they keep serving this pastry.
Kid-friendliness: Lots of well behaved kids when I was there. They fit in just fine.“

“I absolutely love this place! I love the atmosphere, especially the outdoor patio that they have. The staff is always so kind! Street parking is free and available, the only complaint I have is the coffee can be kind of hit or miss (although I mainly only get the drip).
I'm always grateful for somewhere with outdoor seating, coffee, and good food options! The jerk sandwich is my go to!“

“Best doggone chicken sandwich I've had in years! Pillowy soft, buttery flavorful bun with melt-in-your-mouth chicken. Morehouse Macchiato was perfection. Vibe was chill and positive. Constant flow of customers. You can tell people know this is the spot. Better than Starb's IMHO.“

“I've been here several times, but my recent visit was disappointing. There were a lot of flies both indoors and outdoors, which was puzzling. I had to constantly shoo them away, and their presence gave the impression that the coffee shop might need better sanitation.“

“I love their options! Honey Lavender coffee is my favorite! They also support other small businesses by selling their goods like tea and baked goods.“
“This may not be a "sit-and-work/etc" coffee shop - only two very cozy window nooks to sit inside + some limited outdoor seating - but that is truly the only trade-off with Academy.
The coffee program rotates beans regularly to different roasters, the specialty drinks are varied and well-rounded, and the folks behind the bar are huge (coffee) nerds in all the best ways. Highly recommend just standing at the bar talking coffee while you sip, if you're into that kind of thing.
Oh yeah, and then you realize you're not only in a coffee shop of incredible quality, BUT ALSO A BUTCHER SHOP?!?!!! That means the banger breakfast menu is being sliced/chopped/cut and prepared fresh right there before your eyes (and the eyes of the pig head they just wheeled in). They carry locally sourced and freshly butchered cuts of everything from chicken to cow. Great example of slow food: local-sourced produce and meats and ownership that cares about the community they're contributing to.
Simply the best.“
“The staff are friendly and made great recommendations for purchases for friends.“

“It’s not often that I’m blown away by a latte these days, but the barista is a true artist and the orange blossom latte stopped me in my tracks. We bought a bag of espresso beans to attempt a home recreation, but let’s be real, I’ll be driving 1/2 an hour just for this aromatic masterpiece in the Atlanta coffee scene.
Kid-friendliness: Kind of small, so outdoor only.
Wheelchair accessibility: You’ll have to enter through parking lot and there is a curb.“

“On a mission to have breakfast today, without waiting in a long line, I stumbled on a jewel in the former location of soul food restaurants, Deacon Burton’s/Son’s Place in Inman Park. The Breakfast Burrito, Salmon on Toast, champagne, etc., were delicious and Complimentary!! Unbeknown to us, restaurant was having a “private intro” to the community and a staff training event. Melanie (Owner/Host) welcomed us in like we were family. Her husband Micheal was so excited to hear about my many visits to Deacon Burton’s. Can’t wait to go back. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️“

“I don't know what sorcery was used to create their GF donuts, but it makes me think anything is possible. If you're a GFer who wants a donut you actually have to open your mouth all the way to eat, this is the place. No more insulting baby donuts!!! This donut is adult-sized and the texture is UNREAL. Seriously, I've had non-GF donuts (in a past life) that don't compare to Salty's GF ones. I'm considering moving cities just so I can be close to a Salty's. Only downside is that it'll ruin all other donuts for ya. You've been warned!“

“One of my favorite cafes in Atlanta. Always a great coffee and breakfast sandwich. One of their staple characteristics is that every meal comes with a melody of assorted fruits. I am biased because they do offer our high quality acai straight from brazil . Moreover, I do what i do because I get to partner with the bet establishments in the city of Atlanta! Here we come ! Make sure to visit, and bring your laptop or a book, the playlist will be guaranteed to keep you a little while longer and the super rare antiques abundantly spread across the cafe will have you scheduling your next visit. Lastly, the people who work at Jpresso and those that frequent it for a nice time are all great. Make sure to make a friend. Hapeville has a winner with this one!“
