Restaurantji's Macon recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“I am a pescatarian. I normally order the shrimp tacos but asked for mushroom tacos, it is not on the menu but the manager was willing to accommodate me. Excellent tacos?, I would highly recommend them!❤ Salsas are not spicy enough, even the house salsa was not spicy. I think the salsas lacked flavors, itwas more like tomatoe sauces with a tad bit of flavor. Waitress and manager were sweet.“
“Had a great dinner here with my honey. I’m vegan and they were super accommodating. The burrito was the largest I’ve ever seen, filled with black beans, veggies and rice. The guacamole was delicious, more of a sauce than home style but delicious. He had the Texas style fajitas and loved them. The service was top notch. Will definitely go back.“
“The food was pretty good. I loved the Birria ? with the cilantro & onion dip. I love the cheesy grilled chicken & rice. ??Carmen at the register was very nice and gave me recommendations on what to order.A nice lil place to dine-in or take out.“
“This place is quiet during lunch time. Dinner time usually has patrons packed to the door. Their salsa taste a little like burrito sauce but their queso is delicious. The wait staff is very friendly and won't leave your glass empty.Kid-friendliness: We have three toddlers; our server met that challenge and goofed around with the kids.“
“Magnificent. Been going every Saturday for a year since finding this place. Best Cubans ever, amazing congi and fried sweet plantains are cooked to perfection. Their tre' leche' and flan is out of this world and service is impeccable.“
“I ordered theEl Grande, side of beans, 2 shrimp tacos and 1 steak taco TO GO first time today 3:00pm. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. 29.99 for all w tax. ABSOLUTELY SO GOOD. I ordered the side of refried beans and I love the portion side to match the amount which was 2.50 cents. SO GOOOD. I’m one person but I will be coming back and I urge anyone that reads this review to give this place a shot. I destroyed the tacos and beans by myself I haven’t even ate the burrito yet. When I came for pickup I saw it’s really spacious inside but clean, and the owner I believe came out he didn’t make things awkward and treated me like I was there last week. And they gave me salsa and chips for free with everything WHICH IS AWESOME .“
“We went as a group of 3 to celebrate my aunt's birthday! It was Cherry Blossom weekend so parking was a mission. My mom is on a scooter so zooming by in the rain was a necessity. The restaurant is very inviting and lively. Colorful in Mexican tradition with Hispanic music playing in the background. There were so many option on the menu, it was hard to choose. Our server gave us many suggestions and all the food she suggest was WOW! We ate two orders of Salsa, queso dip and nachos! My aunt ordered the Texas fajitas platter( steak, chicken and shrimp) this included rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, veggies, cheese and tortillas. She could not get enough. My mom ordered the Molcajete with all the meats( steak, chicken, chorizo and shrimp) with tortillas and fried cheese....it's A LOT of food! Obviously we helped her eat it. I got taquitos fritos de barbacoa. They were covered in crema, cheese and avocado. Delicious! I was so full. This food is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've eaten at. Everything was prepared to perfection. Nothing was missing. My mom, aunt and I are not huge fans of Mexican food. We are still raving about our meal! We paid $100 bucks for 3 people and we had drinks! No regrets for sure. The Texas House Margarita and my Texas Mango Margarita was YUMMY but potent! My aunt's complimentary birthday shot made her evening. We almost carried her to the car but so worth it! Can't wait to go back and try the other platters. The cups our Margaritas came in were so adorable we purchased one. Thanks!Wheelchair accessibility: My mom is on a scooter and this place is handicap accessible. A little ramp is available to enter.“
“Great experience and the cheese dip wasn't watered down. Staff and atmosphere was excellent. They value customers unlike Margaritas on Bass.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly. None in our party but good atmosphereWheelchair accessibility: Accessible“
“I got a tostada and a chicken taco and an el pastor taco. The tostada was amazing. One of the best exactly what I wanted and was looking for. The tacos were phenomenal as well. I will be back to try other taco options and would recommend you checking out Antojitos Michoacanos.“
“Born and raised in Macon never visited until today after hearing the food was good. I am not a big fan of Tex Mex or "Mexican" food but this food was soooo good. The bathrooms were clean, restaurant wqs decorated so cute for Valentines, wait staff were smiling, polite, dressed in their red uniforms, the manager was awesome!! He came around greeted us, made sire the food was good, friendly smile and was checking in on his staff periodically. The team looked just as happy to be there and it showed through the service! If you are ever in Macon this spot is the Chic-Fil-A of Mexcian style restaurants.“
“Lovely place with, a nice ambiance, the food was great and their drinks were fabulous. The staff was great and quick service. Went with my family and it was a great experience. I will go back again and will recommend this place to everyone.“
“This restaurant has been around for almost 50 years and there's a REASON! The food is always AMAZING! The service is impeccable and the atmosphere is the best of any Mexican restaurant I've tried in Macon. I would highly recommend pollys to anyone! They have the best cheese dip, and their guacamole is very popular. They will make you ANYTHING you want even if it isn't technically listed on the menu. Give it a try, I promise you won't be disappointed! They have a dish everyone will like!“
“This is a 5 star Mexican restaurant in a 3 star stop and rob - but don't let that stop you from getting some carry out! I heard this place was good and I'm here to tell you it was great. I know it's odd to have such wonderful food at a gas station, but it's true! Chicken/beef/shrimp were quality cuts - not some grislily rubber. Get some!“
“Stopped here on a long drive from FL back to IL and it was a great find! Fantastic service, high quality food and all reasonably priced! Recommend if you’re looking for a great bite to eat and not wanting just your usual fast food chain restaurants. A quick 2 (maybe even 1 minute) minute detour off the exit and in the same parking lot as a gas station, nice 2 for 1 if you’re road tripping!“
“Holy Shiitake!!! I love tacos!!! They are life!!! I love HOLE in the WALL places!! This is my new favorite taco spot in Macon!! So fresh so UNBELIEVABLY tasty!!! Yes it’s in a bad area, will you die No!!! Did anyone approach me in the parking lot NO!!!! This place was good!!!! I can’t wait to go back and try something different!!! Fast service too! These are tacos all Pastor on corn tortilla, the only way to get it!!!“
“This is located in a free standing food court. It’s best to go in through front door of Margarita’s rather than the food court, due to the “tricky door” into the restaurant that does not want to cooperate. The restaurant used to look more spiffy before Covid hit and they had to redo the spacing, but the food is always great and everything looks clean. The chips are thin and greasy which my friend loves, and the salsa is good. Food comes out quick and you pay the waitress at the end.“
“I really love Moe’s concept of greeting you when you walk in but it only works if they don’t sound miserable while saying it. ?The food and cleanliness of this location is nice compared to South FL, where I just moved from. The burritos are made with care, the meat and sauces taste fresh, overall a solid meal. Will definitely return. Took one star off for the frowning and reluctance to greet customers. It’s my pet peeve to be ignored when I go to an establishment to spend my hard earned money. I go to Moe’s over Chipotle because I’m looking for that extra something that only Moe’s does.“
“Loved everything about the place down to the hospitality!Vegetarian options: YesParking: Good distance from the storeKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: Yes for getting in the store and for eating in as well and for the bathroom as well!“
“We had takeout I got the tofu tacos awesome they can also be made vegan. My husband got the chicken burrito he enjoyed it said it was on the dry side but added yum yum sauce and he was good to go. He also got the pork egg rolls and I got the spring rolls amazing. We also did take out 2 weeks later I got the firecracker tofu it was good but if you're vegetarian or vegan I suggest the tacos it's a much better choice imo. I definitely would recommend. We will be ordering again for sure.“
