Came here with a party of 11 (4 vegans) for lunch. The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The food was fantastic and plentiful - I think we tried just about everything. Made a real change from the overly sweet and overly fried food most restaurants in the USA tend to serve. The place is not fancy - plastic cutlery and you eat from polystyrene cartons - but is very clean, light and so homely. We LOVED it and wish our gorgeous hostesses every success for the future.
The only thing better than vegan food is vegan soul food, and Hungry Vegan makes everything amazing. Try the Big Vegan; your choice of servings of a few sides, makes a delicious, nutritious meal. Save room for dessert! It was peach-cobbler the day I was there! I also happened to be at the end of a pretty bad cold, and Denise had me drink a shot of one of her immune boosting drinks. BOY HOWDY! I'm going back for another tomorrow! 10 out of 10!!!
FAN-FRIGGIN-TASTIC! We stopped in on Christmas Eve, luckily for us they were open! This is legit real deal vegan soul food. The oyster mushrooms were fried too perfection (coming from a mushroom snob). The Mac and cheese was phenomenal and I usually hate restaurant Mac & cheese. The spaghetti was flavorful and perfectly seasoned. I could go on and on and the food it was just so good!!
