The poke of my dreams is right. Suisan is a working fish market in Hilo, and the poke case is the real deal: tray after tray of fresh poke on ice, from classic shoyu ahi to spicy mayo styles, all sold by weight. We got two bowls and both were outstanding, with the fish tasting like it came off the boat that morning. This is the kind of place locals line up for, and now I understand why. Easy 5 stars, the best poke I had on the Big Island.
I feel like we ordered wrong because I didn’t love the fish, plus it didn’t come with any side.
