Love their oxtail soup. Its hit or miss with portion on takeout. I often treat myself to this dish. Really wish the price here($30) was cheaper compared to its Ward($26) location since I frequent this location more. If taking out & you like a good amount of green onions & cilantro you may need to check before leaving. Ward location no worries.
Restaurant has an old comfy restaurant that is casual. Food is overall good and they're known for their oxtail soup. Presentation is not formal and primarily has local comfort food. If you're looking for a quick and tasty meal, this restaurant won't disappoint.
They are kindest people on earth. The staff came out to escort my 84 year old aunt to Lyft so she won’t fall.
Food was delicious. Service was excellent.

Asahi Grill Waialae offers a delightful dining experience with a welcoming atmosphere, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends and family or celebrate special occasions. The restaurant features a private room option for those who want a more intimate setting. The menu includes a variety of dishes, with the signature tail soup being especially popular among guests. This oxtail soup is made with lots of love and care, featuring tender meat that gives a luxurious taste similar to corned beef, and a rich, flavorful broth topped with cilantro. The soup is served with chopped ginger and soy sauce, which can be used to enhance the flavor further. Other favorites include the opakapaka fish plate, shrimp fried rice, ramen, and chicken papaya soup. The staff is friendly and helpful, and guests can easily order in English or Japanese. Payments by card are accepted, with a small surcharge. Many customers also enjoy the cutlet curry, which is large and served with two freshly fried cutlets, adding variety to the menu.
