Asahi Grill Reviews
Great, solid local style food, big portions for the price, and a great daily specials list. If it's a local meal they probably serve it here. Pretty friendly staff though the atmosphere in the restaurant is pretty sparse and tired but the food totally makes up for it, or get it to go!
If you are looking for local Hawaiian cafe this is the spot. Oxtail soup and loco moco were best we have had on the island and truly authentic flavors and experience
Great Oxtail soup! And we also enjoyed the ‘Lechon Kawali’ (fried pork belly) platter!

Asahi Grill is a homey local go-to spot with a relaxed, casual vibe. It is a very typical local style restaurant with great food and a good size menu. The menu includes local plate lunch favorites, burgers, Asian style options, fish, curry, and more. The oxtail soup is the best in town; it is light and delicious, and adding ginger is recommended. The oxtail soup with rice and ginger is pure comfort food. Other popular meals include the ribeye, teriyaki chicken, lup cheong fried rice, spaghetti, and adobo fried rice. The adobo fried rice is packed with flavor. The chicken katsu has a surprisingly large serving, and the cheeseburger meal comes with a homemade burger patty. The prices are very reasonable and inexpensive. The food is consistently excellent. Parking is available on the side but may be tight for bigger trucks, so it is best to go early.
