“A very clean restaurant. Everything tasted freshly made from the vegetables to the soup dishes. Seems like most patrons ordered soup dishes. Had the pork/noodles soup dish and it was delicious. The ong choy stir fried vegetables was some of the best I’ve ever had.“

“The well known, popular place next to Sing Cheong closed last year so we've been going here. Prices are a little higher than the one a few blocks away but it's still very good. Friendly service, right across from parking lot too. Best to eat the roast pork and duck right away so the skin is still crispy“

“I love how it is hole in the wall. And it's quite hard to find and hidden. As well parking is terrible lol.
.
Parking basically street parking. I found parking across the street with a handicap spot. The parking is terrible and have to make a few circles to find one.
.
How to order? Basically order anything you see on the menu. If they have it they can mix and match to your liking. The problem is I wanted beef tendon, mom wanted the pig feet, and we both want noodles skinny kind and won ton. But we don't want to order too much as we are doing back to back food experiences. Mind you not we already went to 3 back to back foodie spots lol. At this point we just trying out a new spot.
.
So we got a plate of skinny noodle tossed with beef tendon and pig feet. Also a plain won ton soup.
.
Won ton - just a dozen of won ton and plain broth. The Won ton has a bouncy texture to the meat. The shrimp was bouncy too. The flavor was authentic with the dry fish powder in it.
.
Beef tendon and pigs feet is nothing special with flavor more just for the texture.
.
Noodles - as soon my chop sticks end touches it I knew it didn't pass my authentic bougie chinese texture for bouncy. The noodle was clumped together and was not bouncy slippery texture. It wasn't bad or good just meh like still missing the texture. The love and sweat is put into making it tho. I really appreciate that. The Chef did a great job just my personal preference.
.
Hot chili oil is amazing tho. It has a nice kick and was spicy. It went well with everything. I loved it and it was memorable. I love the condiments on the table with the hot muster and white peppers and chili paste and etc.
.
Overall I had a wonderful experience. It was great to take mama to her own food when she grew up in hkg. I know the authentic of hkg won ton noodles and when I mentioned the dry fish powder in the won ton, the owner knew I know how to eat and no further questions asked lol. It was funny to everyone that a ABC knows his won ton seriously. Thanks for reading and hope this helps. Have a yelptastic day.“

“Great little spot for enjoying a family Sunday evening dinner. Meals here should be shared family style. Everyone order their desired dish then share it with the family. The center of the table even spins for easy family sharing. I must say I am now addicted to their lemon chicken. We had two orders of it. What a delicious 🤤 spot.“

“Lee Ho Fook is a fantastic spot for authentic flavors! The fish cake soup was absolutely delicious—rich and flavorful, making for a comforting start to the meal. The mini chicken cake noodle with gravy was also amazing, with perfectly cooked noodles and a savory gravy that ties everything together. Highly recommend for anyone craving satisfying and well-prepared dishes!“

“The food was fresh and delicious. Service friendly and helpful. You’ll feel like you’ve arrived at that hidden gem where the locals eat authentic Asian food. Hong Kong style noodles were delicious, as was the tofu and eggplant. Vegetarian potstickers were not listed on the expansive menu, but when the server realized we were vegetarian she made the recommendation. Great place!“

“This little “hole-in-the-wall” I’ve been coming to for years, possibly decades, but I haven’t been since new ownership took over. I was hesitant because the previous owners I’ve gotten to know over the years and they put so much effort into their food… I’m happy to report that the food is just as good!I ordered the soup noodles with pork and pickled vegetables and it was like I remembered. The soup base was delicious and the noodles cooked perfectly. I also order the salt & pepper chicken wings for good measure and those were great too!If you have a craving for HK-style cafe food, this is the spot to visit!“

“Aloha; this spot has been around for years but this was my first time enjoying thier establishment with my family. The service was quiet but instant, food was served the quickest I have ever seen in a Chinese spot. The food was perfect, cake noodles were perfect, Mongolian beef tender, Egg Blossom soup was unreal good and Peking duck was perfectly tender and moist. There are only about 32 seats available but most people do take out. It's super old school look made me feel like it was the 80 again enjoying it with family...I loved it. You have to try it. This is how I remember traditional Chinese food.“

“Must try Dim Sum! BEST CHAR SIU BUNS EVER!!! The shu Mai and shrimp and chive dumplings were absolutely incredible as well! All the ingredients taste so fresh and and were perfectly assembled with such AMAZING flavors. I cannot wait to go back! Definitely try the desserts too! I would gain 5lbs a week if I lived closer.“

“I absolutely love the dim sum here. As a half-Cantonese kid, their dumplings are more in line with traditional HK flavors than Hawaiian style. So their Siu Mai is more like Siu Mai than pork hash if ya get me;) The half moon and ha gow is delicious and very big. The char siu is another fav from here, really I think everything is good! Service can be surly though! Depends which Aunty you get and how she feels that day! Haha.“

“My FAVORITE dim sum place in Honolulu! I’m not a huge fan of the location, but they have the best dim sum on island. The prices used to be really affordable but they’ve gone up significantly over the years just like most places. This is one of the few places that still serve you from the dim sum cart. They can get really busy at lunch time and on the weekends.
Pork siu mai, shrimp har gau, seafood peanut dumplings, soup dumplings are all must get items! Their curry tendon is also very soft and tasty.“

“I'm from Hong Kong and the food + atmosphere here was pretty authentic. The waitress spoke fluent Cantonese and Mandarin and there was a TV playing the TVB channel from Hong Kong. They seemed understaffed though and had to turn away some other customers while we were eating.
Iced Hong Kong milk tea was good, not too sweet. I got omelette rice with satay sauce, shrimp and char siu. The satay sauce had lots of peanuts in it and went well with the ingredients. The shrimp tasted better than the char siu but both are good. My husband got chicken with green onions, 2 sunny-side-up eggs and fried rice. Green onions with their scallion oil is always a great combination with chicken and rice. They also had lots of porridge and noodle options on their menu, and after 11am they have baked rice as well, which is difficult to get from other Chinese restaurants.
We then shared the ovaltine French toast for dessert, which is a unique product from them and the highlight of the meal. The toast was covered in ovaltine powder (chocolate-like in flavor), and the inside contained hot condensed milk, which mixed well with the powder when you slice the toast open to provide an amazing sweet and sticky flavor. This dish is only for dine-in customers, as takeout would make the bread too soggy. Would definitely recommend.“

“Was greeted by a kind gentleman behind the counter. He saw us looking and opened up the steam basket to show us more options but wasn't pushing us to by his food. I was already full but decided to get the fried pork dumplings. I'm so glad I did. Omg it was fresh, hot, crispy and the filling tasted just right. This place costs a lot less than where I'm from for dim sum. If I could eat more, I would've ordered more.“

“A typical looking traditional dim sum place. I ordered some basic dim sums to go and they were fine, but nothing special. Each dim sum is about $6. It took a little longer than expected to get my small order ready, but it wasn’t bad. Servers were very friendly.
Vegetarian options: Some options were available.
Parking: Park in the adjacent building at a dollar per hour with the first 30 minutes free.“

“I had their minute chicken cake noodle. Probably the best iteration of the dish I’ve had in Hawaii: delicious sauce, tender chicken, and superb quality noodles. However, the prices of their menu seem to change based on the cashier of the day. Kinda sketch.“

“So I have been going here for years because I love Don Quijote nut this is the first time I have written a review. So I have lived in San Francisco and these guys are definetly the real thing. They have great duck and Char Siu as well as roast pork. I usually get the baked manapua and the pork hash. The baked manapua has a nice soft bun and the filling is great fresh with lots of meat. And the pork hash is great because it has chunks of water chestnut and other delicious veggies mixed in with the pork hash. The service has always been fast and friendly and the decor is well traditional Chinese restaurant .“

“Definitely my favorite Chinese food spot! And I’m about to ruin the best kept secret in my neighborhood of Kapahulu. Definitely my go to family restaurant for special occasions or just when I’m too lazy to cook. The food is hot, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The flavor is always consistently delicious, and service is excellent and fast. They were a blessing during Covid, but I love dining-in family style! The Peking Duck! House crispy noodles with seafood! KaiYuk with taro! And The Minute Chicken with cake noodles! The beef chow mein! I’m getting hungry just writing this review. But the best is the left overs the next day when the gravy is soaked into the everything!! OMG“

“The best Chinese Lobster seafood restaurant in Honolulu. The price is very reasonable compare to other areas closer to Waikīkī. Servers and bathroom were great, clean and very superior guest services. We came back to eat the 2nd time before heading to the airport. I heard servers spoke Korean not Chinese but great food and services overall. Highly recommend!!!“

“My Mom is from Hong Kong and speaks both Mandarin & Cantonese and knows her food. We grew up in HNL and it’s been hard to find good Chinese. King’s kills it! Very authentic menu, vegetables that are cooked perfectly al dente and fresh and their roast duck as good as it gets. Best Chinese food in HNL!!!“

“Ate here with my spouse. Had what was similar to egg rolls with chicken if they were steamed. My husband had 3 buns with BBQ pork inside. He said they were delicious. We shared a large pot of egg drop soup, I had to add a little salt. I had chicken with vegetables, pretty good, some of the pieces were a little fatty. Nothing oily. Polite, attentive service. Bill was about $42 and we left them $50. Dated but clean place. Lots of supplies on tables and counters. Group of LOUD men enjoying themselves but part of the ambiance I guess. All in all, it did the trick.“

“This was a great first time experience. Very nostalgic authentic place. I'd recommend coming a little earlier in the day since the dim sum is made hot every morning. The waiter came with the dim sum cart I got a couple of my go tos but I did try something new.
The dim sum I think was very tasty, good flavor but I feel if I came earlier in the day it would have been more moist. The second waiter came with a delicious looking tray of buns and things, and I ordered look fun which then they went to prepare it. I've never had a better look fun, it was a little crispy and there was crunchy pork bits with the perfect sauce. I liked the dim sum but I loved the look fun!
It's a little outdated inside but it has a sort of charm to it. I had 4 orders dim sum and a look fun (5 pieces) for $33! Probably time to raise your prices. Thanks it was so good.“

“Lam’s Kitchen – A Traditional Chinese Noodle Shop in the Heart of Honolulu’s Chinatown
Lam’s Kitchen is a small, old-fashioned noodle shop nestled in the bustling Chinatown district of Honolulu. The place seats only about 30 people, so even though we came during a regular lunch hour, my family and I had to wait around 20 minutes to get a table.
I ordered the fish noodle soup – the broth was clear and light, with a clean, subtle flavor. The fish was not fried but cooked directly in the soup, making the meat firm, fresh, and pleasantly mild. It’s a good choice for those who enjoy traditional, light flavors.
My husband and child had the stir-fried beef rice noodles – a more memorable dish. The wide, chewy noodles were stir-fried hot with tender slices of beef, and the dish carried a distinct smoky aroma from the wok – adding a layer of depth and authenticity.
Lam’s Kitchen may not offer groundbreaking cuisine, but it delivers an honest, traditional Chinese dining experience. If you have time while visiting Chinatown, it’s worth trying at least once.“
