ROKC HAWAII Reviews
The food is good and I would say the best cocktails in town. You can tell they care how they mix the drinks. Usually, places have either one or two really great cocktails and the rest are just okay, but out of the four drinks I tasted, all of them were well balanced and mixed with flavors that work.
I was blown away by the quality and hospitality of this place, it is rare to find true Japanese style bartending flair with elegant precision on the mainland and here you’ll find it steps away from beach. This is the kind of place you don’t rush but exoerience. Behind the bar, Yugin is fantastic. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar with an open mind to explore your taste buds. ROKC HAWAII is a restaurant praised for its cocktails and food. The blue cheese fig martini is described as the best martini, and the cocktails alone are worth a visit. The food is delicious, high-quality bites that complement the creative drinks. The place is incredible and surprisingly not busy enough. Five different cocktails were all great, with personal favs being the Earl Grey ($18) and the Yuzu & Sansho ($18). There is a large cocktail menu with something for everyone, including mocktails. Stand-out food items include the sea urchin (uni) & salmon roe pasta ($38) and truffle egg sandwich ($13). It is on the pricier side, but you won't be disappointed. Reservations are available for parties of 4+, and parking is available directly across the street in an underground parking garage with validation. Other dishes include deviled eggs, scallop ceviche, oysters, uni and ikura soupless ramen, and wagyu and bone marrow soupless ramen. Everything was delicious. A watermelon cucumber martini was a bit too sweet. Service was fine. It is small but comfortable, with free 2 hours of parking at BOH across the street. The food is good and the cocktails are the best in town, well balanced and mixed with flavors that work. The quality and hospitality offer true Japanese style bartending flair with elegant precision steps away from the beach. It is a place to experience, not rush. The brothless ramen is recommended, and the bone marrow in particular was incredibly buttery and savory. It is great food and a pleasant reprieve from the loud sports bar environment. The truffle egg salad is scrumptious, the curry ramen is heavy but flavorful, and the Tokyo ramen is simply delicious. Service was fast & efficient, with 1950s music in a relaxed dimly lit bar atmosphere.
