Hooked Reviews
$22 for two crappy dry fish tacos that gave me food poisoning. You’ve earned this review Hook.
I concur with all the other reviews. My husband and son walked across the street to get us some food. After perusing and all the options, they decided on fish tacos, fish sandwich, and poke from this food truck. They said the young lady was nice at first, key word “at first”, and chatted with them and asked them about their day. After my husband ordered 4 dishes: two orders of the fish tacos, one poke, and one order of a fish sandwich the total came to $85. Not cheap my husband...read full review
Terrible. it takes a lot for uss to write a review, let alone a poor one, but this was severely overpriced for awful quality. The fish and chips batter was gummy, fish overcooked and fries tasted like rewarmed McDonalds fries tossed in seasoning salt. There was zero flavor to it or the Mahi Sandwich. We are so disappointed and wish we'd done our research earlier. $50 down the drain for dissatisfied stomachs and tasted buds. Even my toddler won't eat it and she loves all things...read full review

Hooked, a restaurant in Maui, has received mixed reviews from customers. While some have enjoyed the fresh and flavorful fish and chips in the past, recent visits have been disappointing. The batter on the fish and chips was described as gummy, the fish overcooked, and the fries tasting like reheated McDonald's fries. The Mahi Sandwich also lacked flavor, leaving customers dissatisfied. At $50 for the meal, some felt it was severely overpriced for the poor quality. Even a toddler who loves fish refused to eat the food. However, a return customer expressed their usual delight with the fresh and worth-the-wait fish and chips, but was let down by the pre-cooked and barely warm food on their recent visit. Recently, some visitors praised Hooked as a favorite food truck in Maui, mentioning that everything ordered was absolutely delicious. The fish and chips are considered comparable to those in New England and the British Isles, and the fish tacos and poke bowl are fresh and decent, with enjoyable flavors like spicy avocado salsa. Service is friendly and efficient, making it a solid option if seafood cravings strike. Despite mixed reviews, many still believe that the fish plate and fish sandwich are top-notch, served with a hefty amount of fish, and recommend visiting the food truck for a satisfying seafood experience.
