“Ōhelo Cafe is a Volano café that more than deserves its five stars. I had been under the impression that it was a vegetarian / vegan restaurant and boy was I wrong. My cousin has been visiting and we didn't wanna really drive back into town and so she suggested Ōhelo. I was hesitant because of what I had heard, but I knew I could find something on the menu. Well, it does serve all kinds of food. My cousin had the most delicious Bacon Guava Burger, and I had the margarita pizza with mildly spicy Italian sausage. Both items were really really delicious especially the pizza. I'm very happy to know that there is a place close to me or I can get some inventive food that tastes great. The Good: Fairly priced delicious food in the neighborhood The Bad: you can't order burgers at dinner time. And parking can be limited unless you park in the unpaved lot next-door. Chances I'll Be Back: YES! another option in Volcano. Delicious food can't wait to try more out on the menu.“
“A little research told us that Uncle George's at the Volcano House was the least expensive option in the Volcano area. We went there for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. We both had the Kalua pork and some Malbec. The pork was delightful and the portions were huge. The cost was way less than the Kilauea Lodge or the Ohela Cafe. On top of all this great food we had a wonderful waitress. I have dined in all 50 states and 8 foreign countries. Cameron was one of the best I have ever had. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and very efficient. Her smile helped make up for the kind of miserable day we had. Volcano used to be a place where you could find great food at good prices. Most places have priced themselves out of budget. Uncle George's makes up for that. I strongly suggest this place- for the ambiance, the view, the food, the prices, and the service. I would also ask for Cameron.“
“We stopped here on our way home from the volcano park and grabbed takeout. Super yummy! We got the Thai curry special and pad Thai, both were amazing. We asked for them to be a little spicy and boy were they, so be careful what you ask for! Still delicious!“
