“After a long awaited visit I was able to stop by Saucy Mama's for a delicious homemade lava cake. The service was superb and the food was very tasty. I am a sticker for food presentation as well and they did this excellently as well. I ate the fresh flowers garnished on the top of my soup and dessert while sipping my smoothie. Go! you won't regret it.“
“We were excited to eat at The Rim restaurant at The Volcano House in Volcanoes National Park. The ambiance and views are amazing. There was a stunning sunset before the clouds rolled in. A musician played an enjoyable assortment of music. It was a little loud to visit, but overall a great ambiance. Landon was a great server, very personable. Sadly, our food was sub-par. Cold steaks and dry chicken. Landon did offer to place a new order for our cold steaks, but we had already waited 45 minutes and were getting tired from a long day of sightseeing by that point. Our reservation was at 6:15 PM. We got right in, but the food took about 45 minutes from the time we ordered and was not great. The tuna appetizer was literally 4 slices of tuna for almost $25. My daughter did have a good chicken pasta. I read good reviews of this restaurant, but we did not think the food was worth the price.“
“Ōhelo Cafe is a Volano café that more than deserves its five stars. I had been under the impression that it was a vegetarian / vegan restaurant and boy was I wrong. My cousin has been visiting and we didn't wanna really drive back into town and so she suggested Ōhelo. I was hesitant because of what I had heard, but I knew I could find something on the menu. Well, it does serve all kinds of food. My cousin had the most delicious Bacon Guava Burger, and I had the margarita pizza with mildly spicy Italian sausage. Both items were really really delicious especially the pizza. I'm very happy to know that there is a place close to me or I can get some inventive food that tastes great. The Good: Fairly priced delicious food in the neighborhood The Bad: you can't order burgers at dinner time. And parking can be limited unless you park in the unpaved lot next-door. Chances I'll Be Back: YES! another option in Volcano. Delicious food can't wait to try more out on the menu.“
