“My +1 & I went here twice; once while walking to Diamond Head and the morning before we had to leave Oahu. It is an amazing place for malasadas and not expensive or fancily crafted. Just good food. The chocolate banana French toast was amazing. Any of the French toast would surely all be good. The chocolate filled malasada was great but I personally loved the cinnamon non filled one. Small quiet little place worth checking out.“

“My husband and I went in on a whim. I didn't expect this little cafe to be the highlight of our week, but here we are! My favorite part, besides getting to pet several kittens at once of course, was the staff. We booked a 30 minute slot to start, and it quickly went by! The room volunteer was so helpful and kind. Every kitty we pet she told us all about their personality, habits, and history if available. You can truly tell they love the cats deeply and wish them the best. it's also so nice that they are so helpful when choosing a kitty that's right for you. personality is so important! Also, the drinks were fantastic! I got a mango matcha tea and was so happy with it. Perfectly sweet! Thank you again for giving us such a fun experience! You'll see us again for sure :)“

“Although it's a bit away from central Waikiki, its good location at the foot of Diamond Head means it's a popular destination for Japanese tourists. Although named a café, besides drinks, there are also popular Hawaiian dishes such as fried rice, acai bowls, and Locomoco. The serve is the Hawaiian standard (i.e. a lot for Japanese) and doesn't feel expensive. I think it's a small, clean, easy-to-use shop with no gaps. Depending on the day and time of the week, some staff are fluent in Japanese and are also recommended for families. There are only a few terrace seats, so you may want to take off peak hours if you are after them.“

“Great shaved ice experience right next to Waikiki beach. Came here multiple times and got to try most of the menu. The shaved ice bowls are incredible, as is the acai bowl. Worth it to add a Dole whip to your order for $1. Highly recommend as you come back from the beach!“

It’s a little hidden gem and has elevator parking for your car in the back of the building or you can park in the Walmart lot. I very much recommend this place.“

“Kalapawai is a go-to restaurant for my friends and I. In this particular visit my friend had an adverse reaction to a medication and we needed to leave abruptly. Allison our server was totally on top of her game, got our main courses boxed and handed to us in less than a minute. The food was excellent, the service was superb.“

“I love Insomnia! The Aunty and Uncle who run this place are very caring and attentive and make you feel at home. The prices are so cheap compared to everywhere else which doesn’t make sense cause the food is sooo good and they are in SALT! Please Hawaii government and god please protect this business and these people!

Recommendations: My wife always gets the lemongrass chicken with cold noodles which is super good and I love the Vietnamese french sandwich pork or chicken. They have a super strong Vietnamese coffee that’ll get you going too.“

Ceiling fans keep you cool. The servers are truly wonderful people and made our experience unforgettable. We enjoyed local beer, vegetarian sandwiches, and soup. “I have visited the Haleiwa location multiple times and it just hits the spot for unique gelato flavors! I also highly recommend any of the crepes ... and of course, the Ube Mochi waffle!!! “Reliably good, reasonably priced (cold and hot) sandwiches, soups, and salads including leafy greens and pasta salads. Friendly and efficient service, too. The combos are a nice deal - I like getting a soup + salad or soup + sandwich. They also cater my office's meetings quite often; they can cater both breakfast (pastries and breakfast sandwiches, plus coffee) and lunch (mostly sandwiches for us). Some of my coworkers have said some of their catered sandwiches a bit boring after a while, so you may consider specifically requesting the types of sandwiches you prefer.“

“Was in Hawaii for a week and visited Lotus three times because the coffee and food was so good. The base black coffee is phenomenal which of course also made the cappuccino I tried delicious and the food was impressively tasty: I’m still talking about the grilled cheese a week later as well as the Portuguese bean soup and empanadas. “Ordered Teh C...and Kopi and Kaya toast. the teh c taste like some regulat tea bag with just some.hot water poured into it. does not even taste like any teh from the singapore kopitiam. the kopi too.. the girl with the nose ring also forgot about out Kaya toast until I went to ask about it after 15 mins later. One of the girls did gave us a free croissant for that. I don't know why the girl keep saying teh Tarik when I ordered Teh C, had to confirm again and again.kaya toast tasted correct though.“
