“A cafe I visited after visiting Diamond Head on the weekend
I tried to go to KCC Market, but there were so many people that I couldn't find anything to eat, so I came as an alternative and it was a really good choice.
Ordered the breakfast plate and pineapple juice, which are sold until 10 o'clock.
The plate tasted okay, but the pineapple juice was delicious.
It was so nice to sit and eat in a cool place after trekking.
The Japanese owner is also friendly.
It was near Waikiki, so I probably went there often to drink juice.“

“Edit, Dec 2024:
We had a matcha soft serve on a cone this visit.
Ube and peach were the seasonal flavors available, though almost everyone ordered matcha.
Original, 2023:
Amazingly creamy, lightly bitter matcha soft serve!
We ordered a matcha shave ice with matcha soft serve to share between 2 adults.
Plenty of dessert to go around.
Ice was a tad chunky and crunchy, not super fine.
3 mochi balls and 1 chestnut
A scoop of sweetened red beans
The soft serve was swirled and more matcha powder was sprinkled on top
This matcha shave ice is winning against my previous favorite at Uncle Clay's HOPA.
First week of March 2023: special flavors are Ube and
Sakura (Cherry Blossoms), which can be swirled together.
I would like to try the Ube next time. Sakura sounds pretty good, but Matcha will likely be the favored choice each time.
Staff were extremely polite and pleasant.
Shop doesn't accept cash, you must use a credit card or your phone (payment via Square).
Vegetarian options: All desert items appear to be vegetarian“

“excellent service, I love the homemade salmon milk, makes the outstanding coffee even more delicious. the blueberry muffins have the a cake like texture that is really satisfying. the lilikoi bars were super delicious, very tart, true to real lilikoi flavor and a very dense and buttery bottom crust. I'm truly satisfied every time I come here. thank you“

“Best shave ice we found on Oahu. We walked from the zoo end every night just for Lahaina shave ice. Made the mistake of trying a different place one night and quickly learned our lesson. Hands down the only place to go“

“Very pretty contemporary coffee shop & bar with a lot of seating available and long hours. Friendly attentive staff works hard with all the foot traffic from Waikiki strip right around the corner. My cortado was very good…not amazing, served only in to-go cups, the seating inside is stylish but loud music gives off a bar-type vibe, difficulty parking & no outlets or restrooms for use… 4.5/5
Parking: Waikiki, what’d you expect…?“

“Excellent coffee made by a beautiful lady named Kat! Please ask for Kat to make your coffee here! Her hands have a special touch and you can tell she’s knowledgeable about the basics. You can tell she takes pride when making coffee. So far I’ve had a couple of hot lattes & cappuccinos by her, and they always taste marvelous. Kai Fresh, you have a gem!

“This is hands down the best scones I’ve had. My mom and I always go to tea houses and we are scone experts! What I love about the owner (Jessica) is the love and expertise she puts into each flavor. The texture of the scone is perfect. The outside is firm but not crunchy and the inside is moist but the perfect scone consistency. They are not too sweet. Just sweet enough. With every bite the scone’s taste develops more and more. My favorites are the UBE & the LEMON CREAM CHEESE SCONE. I also order the Japanese cheese cake when I go. It is spongy and not too filling. And my trip to Bits & Bites visit is only complete with my favorite TIRAMISU LATTE, whole milk, topped with their home made cheese foam! Perfection!
Go early because she usually sells out before 3pm.“

“I would give 10 stars if possible. upon entering insomnia we were greeted by the two people working with so much enthusiasm & kindness that I would come back just to be greeted by them alone (im assuming they’re the owners but not entirely sure). they suggested an iced Vietnamese coffee if we needed a lot of caffeine, we agreed & the coffee was so strong & so tasty! my daughter ordered a strawberry smoothie & it was great as well. while we enjoyed our drinks I listened to them greet a few other customers who came in, & it made my heart so full. the people here are incredibly caring & so kind. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area!“

“Great Food with a European influence of France and Spain. Cozy atmosphere and the Chef ZZ is very talented with many years of experience. It’s a little hidden gem and has elevator parking for your car in the back of the building or you can park in the Walmart lot. I very much recommend this place.“

Staff friendly and attentive and the place is kept very clean. Definitely worth a stop if you need to pick up a pint of gelato for a family dinner too. ;)“

“Reliably good, reasonably priced (cold and hot) sandwiches, soups, and salads including leafy greens and pasta salads. Friendly and efficient service, too. The combos are a nice deal - I like getting a soup + salad or soup + sandwich. They also cater my office's meetings quite often; they can cater both breakfast (pastries and breakfast sandwiches, plus coffee) and lunch (mostly sandwiches for us). Some of my coworkers have said some of their catered sandwiches a bit boring after a while, so you may consider specifically requesting the types of sandwiches you prefer.“

“A huge improvement over our last visit about 2 years ago(?). We ordered the same items for comparison and enjoyed them. The grape bruschetta and hummus plate were delicious. Our server was Rocky (I think) great, enthusiastic service though it looked like she had most of the tables, she managed. We've always called this the “smoky green place” because of the ventilation. It seemed a little better but has a way to go.“

“Food was amazing I was looking for a bite more fresh and trying to stay somewhat true to a healthy menu while on my trip, it was delivered with full flavor and reasonably priced for the servings they provide. I wish I found this place sooner. They also cater and provided our meeting with coffee and fresh pastries. I will be coming back here the next time I’m in Hawaii. Thank you!“

“Dropped by NOLA on Saturday morning for a beignet flight. The service was quick and friendly, though they were out of vanilla and offered pumpkin instead. The beignets are made fresh to order, so there’s a bit of a wait, but it’s worth it. The space is big and clean, but the music was a bit loud for 7 AM—maybe not the best spot to relax with a coffee. That said, the beignets were delicious with a great texture, and the filling was generous without being overly sweet. Highly recommend!“

“This little cafe always have great food! I've been here many times and the food is delicious. It's inexpensive and right price for the food you're ordering. Credit/debit acceptable with a minimum purchase of $5. There's probably a restroom for public use but I'm not sure. Very popular place for lunch. The cafe is visible by foot although if you're in a big, tall truck passing by then you can see it on your right. Opens from 1100 to 1430 Monday to Friday. Stop by and support local!“

“We got the vanilla chai hot and iced lavender matcha, both were REALLY good! It's a cute little spot too, love the vibe!

“I take public transportation from Kailua just to pick up food for the weekend sometimes! The food is delicious; try the tofu poke if you ever see it there, absolute heaven! I just found out there's a restaurant in Kaimuki and can't wait to try it out. The grilled mushroom sandwich on focacia bread is a must also (I added the cheese to the sandwich in the photo)!
Vegetarian options: Mushroom sandwich, tofu poke, any salad offering. I may be wrong, but I believe it's all vegan. It's all delicious!
Parking: I don't drive, so I don't pay much attention to parking. There is street parking, I'm not sure if it's metered or not. It's a medical building with paid parking attached.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's l9cated inside a medical 9ffice building, so wheelchair access for everything.“
“Hubby and I bought 2 Vietnamese coffee!! Very strong coffee if you need to do Polynesian cultural center whole day activity! We also got tuna rice ball (good for a day if you want a snack) and a breakfast meal (sausage, bacon and egg with rice). Totaling to under $6. Wow!! And the 2 Vietnamese coffee it's under $10. In California that would be $16 for 2!! The place is where locals go. Your not there for the ambiance. Your there for a cheap and quick food and snacks. Affordable and locally loved!!“

“Wonderful and friendly. The waffles are some of the best I’ve ever had. The Kailua Pork Quesadilla was amazing as well. Manu was so friendly and after a nice conversation he gave a little speech and blew the conch as a blessing for our recent marriage.“
