We almost ordered one of everything to share. Each dish had unique flavors that tied perfectly together. The staff knew their food well and gave excellent recommendations. If you are going to get dinner in downtown Des Moines, you have to come here.“
“The food was excellent. One of the best steak deburgo I’ve had. The restaurant is small, so it gets really noisy. There was also no clear communication in where to go to get on the waitlist, you can’t wait at the bar so you have to go to a small waiting room down further in the strip mall. But again no one told us where to go to wait and there was no signage.“
“We had a group of 14+ with a mix of kids and adults. Our server was awesome, chill, and completely on her game with our large group! I wish I could recall her name but she was awesome. Can honestly say I haven't had better service for such a large group. Can't forget about the manager who was super responsive to our large group! “I hosted my husband's 50th birthday party at the Station, and their back room was having the Nightmare on Ingersol, so they had some tables reserved for us. We ended up with more than the tables would hold, and they did an amazing job of getting to people quickly, and made the night great, from the 8 year old, to the birthday boy with some people getting food, and getting drinks to everyone. The waitstaff was attentive but not overbearing, and our waiter in particular was so friendly and recommended the crab stuffed walleye, which was to die for! The environment was classy and intimate, yet casual enough that it felt comfortable and warm. The best part of the meal was the appetizer- the seared ahi tuna is too good for words, just trust me on this and order it! This was a great place to visit for my birthday dinner, and we definitely plan on being back.“

“This review is for 3.5 stars. This place has been on my list of places to try for a while so my husband and I ate dinner here last night. We both thought the food was good but priced higher than it should be for what we got.I got the CFD Burger and my husband got the Mojo Pork Sandwich and while we thought they were both fine, we felt a little underwhelmed for how much they cost. My burger was $14 and the pork sandwich was $16 and neither one came with fries or a side. The side fries were $4, which I got. I checked their website before we went there and the website price for the fries was $3, not $4. I really hate when restaurants change the price of things on the menu but don't update the menu on their website.My burger was good but not amazing. Their sauce in It reminded me of a Big Mac. I feel like I have gotten just as good hamburgers from Smashburger or Zombie Burger for much less money. My husband said he was expecting more flavor with his sandwich. It tasted good but didn't wow him. I guess we just expected more because the chef is a James Beard Award nominee. We thought the flavors would be much better than food you can find elsewhere.I also feel that burgers and sandwiches should always come with a side. Neither the burger nor the sandwich was very big. There's no way either one alone would fill you up. I don't know anyone who would order a burger without getting fries or some other side. However, I will say that the fries were very good. They were light and crispy and didn't taste like they were frozen from a bag. They were just slightly warm, though, and not piping hot. They were still tasty though.All the employees we dealt with were friendly and nice. Our server, though, disappeared after we got our food. She never checked on us to ask how things were. I didn't get very much ketchup for my fries and I was looking all over the room for her to ask for more ketchup. When I finally found her, I was halfway done with my food.The place looks amazing and definitely looks like an upscale modern diner. The decor and furnishings are beautiful. Everything looks well thought out. I don't think we will be back again any time soon, though. The food didn't impress us enough to try it again for what they're charging.“

“A week or so ago my family placed a large online order. My wife picked the order up and brought it home. When we got everything separated we realized some items were missing. Both my wife and I tried calling the restaurant several times due to living 20-plus minutes away but could only get a busy signal. My wife ended up going back to the restaurant. The young lady my wife spoke with was very apologetic about the entire situation and extremely kind. Despite having to go back for a couple of things, the young lady's handling of the situation and the food being great more than made up for everything. We will for sure return in the future.“

“We were here on a Friday night with a group of 8. We had a reservation and we were seated immediately. The owner stopped by and said hello before our waiter even got there. The service was great the whole evening, our waiter knew exactly when to come back and when to let us be and just enjoy the dinner.The food was great, it was a 4 course fixed price menu. Everything was delicious and the portions were just right.The brick walls add to the already great atmosphere. The restaurant was great and we will definitely be back in the future!“

I love how I didn't have to ask for any extra dressing for my side salad, they put just the right amount for you. The grilled chicken breast was cooked perfectly, as well as the grilled onions and mushrooms it was smothered in. The broccoli & cheese soup blew me away. It had more seasoning than I'm used to, but was absolutely incredible! Being new to the area, this is by far my favorite place in the two months I've been here. “I feel that this place is super good to go to eat, the food there is super good and when something runs out they put it out very quickly, the service is excellent, they serve you very quickly you ask questions like a guy. If you take children to that place they ask you how old they are and what you are going to order for drinks and well if you don't have children or they don't take you to that place they only ask you the other thing and even though the place gets very full, that's normal but from there everything is excellent.“

On a busy Saturday night post-Valentine's Day, we experienced a lengthy wait of about 15-20 minutes at our table without a greeting from staff until we flagged someone down for menus. It was an even longer wait to order drinks and appetizers. Despite being there for over an hour, we only ordered an appetizer and drinks as our server never came back until we asked for a bill. Overall, I believe this place excels in food and ambiance, but improving the organization and staffing levels would greatly enhance the customer experience.“

“First time eating at this place, and I was actually impressed. Upon walking in, it was lit with dim lighting with fake candles on each table to help with some nice ambience (which I really like, makes me feel richer than I really am.. lol ). Overall place was clean, tables and booths were nice and clean, place was not overly loud so I could hear my conversation without being disturbed or the feeling of needing to yell. I ordered a glass of water as my beverage, and my entree was the Italian grazziano meat pizza. The pizza was cooked throughly and had a nice crunch on the crust, the meats tasted good and it wasn't overly greasy considering it had sausage on it. Pizza was about a 10 inch pie with about 8 slices. Nothing too huge, nothing too small. For me, it was a perfect size to get full and have left overs later. The server was very kind as well. Checked in on us a few times, refilled my water and kept a professional attitude. I will not disclose names, but she did a great job taking care of us. Person I went with ordered chicken tenders and fries , and both of those were also quite good! No complaints here. The food was fairly good, as I found no flaws really. I will definitely be back. One last thing, the pizza, chicken tenders, + 1 mule roughly came out to about 39$. Not too bad considering a drink and 2 fairly decently sized dishes. If you're looking to stay under 50$ and have a fun chill date, this is a good place.“
