“We had a gathering of 30 people. Alex kept the restaurant open for us. We limited to 3 entrees. All three options were wonderful. Sides were great. Lettuce was NOT from a bag. It was head lettuce. We were very pleased with the food quality as well as the taste. Highly recommend.“

“Craving for that farm taste home cooked, I wanna try the Machine Shed.I know this is IA so, of course I wanted pork and more! Boy ohhhh boy, Machine Shed DID NOT disappoint. The two side dishes we share were cottage cheese and apple! Cottage cheese with some salt n pepper and the smooth, creamy did not disappoint me, BUT the Wow came in with the apple! Wow! That sweetness, the sour and the cinnamon kick! Fireball shots got nothing to compare to these apple! The cornbread, there is true sweetness it it, and with some butter… yummmmy! The pork - the heartland combo..: I could only eat the main pork with stuffing. Such tenderness combined with the flavors of the stuffing! I would have to say MEOW!Ohhh … I don’t forget try the cheese cake!Thank you! Will be back for sure!So far, Machine Shed has one the fluffiest cheese cake in da US!“

“From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. Our waitress, whom I wish I had asked her name, was very friendly and accommodating. The food was superb! I tried their french toast and was very pleased and the ribeye was delish. Definitely worth the drive from Quad Cities. Will definitely come back.“

“The service was great. My salad was a nice mix of greens and other veggies on top. My main dish came out too quickly as I was only half done with the salad. The baby back ribs were soooo delicious... like falling off the bone and melt in your mouth kind of good!! So no problem there. My baked potato was overdone, like it had been setting around a while waiting for a customer. It was the worst, but it should really have not been served.Parking: Easy access from the main road. Parking is right in front of the restaurant.“

“Old fashioned restaurant style that is so pleasant and friendly. The food is very good, especially breakfast, but I’ve had lunch there as well…. The Staff makes the difference as they’ve somehow kept an old style restaurant relevant! Nice job!!“

“Connor and crew do an amazing job! They’re really good at notifying customers via Facebook of any changes they may be making for special occasions or shortages, which I appreciate. They have the best pub food in town, and the service is ALWAYS great. I’m not a big beer drinker so I love that they’ve added mixed drinks to their offerings.“

“First time I've been there in 30 years, fish was always a tradition on Friday and Saturday nights. Got there early, not a big crowd but only one server and he was running his a$$ off. Beer was cold, a gin and tonic was served in a pint glass with a soda straw (?). Anyway- the fish was a good as remembered- big chunks of fried cod. Fries were crispy and hot too. The dill sauce was good but seems like the recipe might have changed or memory remembered something "better". Would definitely recommend for the big food people, the all you can eat special is a bargain.“

“Hadn’t been here for about five years and the only thing that changed was the side the brunch items were located. The food was still very good and the staff was outstanding. Emma was our server and she was very attentive to all the tables she was responsible for. Highly recommend and please check out the specials they have throughout the week.“

“Food itself was very good! However order accuracy is important to me. We were missing five items, three of them being sauces. Not the biggest deal though. Staff was friendly otherwise, we paid to get the sauces anyhow but it felt like false advertising when the menu said a sauce was included with the item. Flavor for the burger patties seemed very bland. I did however love the atmosphere and decoration. The onion rings and cinnamon sugar bites were absolutely delicious though and worth every penny. I was also told the fried shrimp basket also tasted amazing. Friendly staff otherwise, we did end up paying extra to get the sauces... It did seem like false advertising when what we ordered was supposed to come with a sauce. The classic diner feel and decor though was amazing and honestly loved how it made others smile! Will definitely recommend them for their appetizers! Amazing breakfast options and shakes as well I've heard from the locals so if we end up back in the area sometime we might just have to check that out. Definitely recommend for families!Kid-friendliness: Wonderful for families and kids seem to love the food and decor.“
“Very old school local place. The bartender seemed to know the name of every person who walk through the door while I was sitting there for lunch. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was not good. The price was right for what I got. Looks like a great place to hang out with friends and have a few drinks.“

“We stopped in for the first time for a mid-week lunch after reading that they placed high in the Iowa pork tenderloin contest a few years ago with their grilled tenderloin. I was not disappointed: it was a large piece of meat that was tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The price was a reasonable $6.50 (sides like fries are extra). They have a monthly calender of their daily specials (which includes things like casseroles), and the specials are also on their daily Facebook page. The server Robbie was very friendly, outgoing, and efficient. In terms of atmosphere, it's an older business (over 30 years) with one large open room, a bar along the back wall, a single pool table, and both high and low tables. It's clean, well lit, and the seats are comfortable. There is a very large parking lot (there was even a semi pulling a grain trailer there). There is also a picnic table outside. It was easy to find seating during the lunch hour. They had a good crowd of farmers/working men present for lunch. It was a friendly atmosphere. We were very happy with our food and our experience at Staby's, and will definitely return. I've already recommended it to friends and family.Parking: Huge gravel lot big enough for couple semi trucks. Easy access as the business sits on a corner“

“We almost went to Clinton today... but we took an unknown road that curved and swooped and ended up in a quaint little iowan town. Delicious lunch "blue balls" with house garlic-parmesan sauce, amazing handmade raspberry-jalepeno jam, and a totally co-chill owner - who made us feel like longtime friends! Such a great afternoon! And, there's a porch swing across the way at the Rusty Rooster...“
