“I stopped at Lara’s yesterday for the first time, and was greeted with wonderful smells and beautiful smiles! The staff was very, very kind. I told one of the girls I’d never been in before, and she proceeded to show me everything on display. All of the yummy baked goods and pastries are huge, and the prices are very very reasonable! I left with 7 treats and only paid $9.50. Awesome quality, astounding service, a joy to have in Marshalltown!”

“I ordered the jasmine tea, sushi/sashimi platter with miso soup and a spicy yellow fin roll. The sashimi was really good. The sushi rice however tasted like it was not seasoned very much. Instead they just used the starch they didn't finish washing off to stick it together. The miso soup was lacking flavor from the broth. But overall the service was fantastic. They were very polite and the food we ordered came fresh and fast. My wife ordered shrimp lo mein. The noodles were cooked just fine and the seasoning was good. But there was one weird thing. It tasted like they velveted the shrimp. If shrimp is cooked properly, you don't need to velvet them. Remember C is cooked O is overcooked. ? But I would eat there again considering it's hard to find decent sashimi near me. If you're in Marshalltown, give it a try.”

“Stayed here for a couple days on a business trip. Because of its close proximity to the location i would be going, it would be easy to walk too.

At 1st I was a bit underwhelmed since it reminded my of those old time hotels with decor and layout. But eventually I grew into it.

The only thing I wished is that breakfast could have been included as part of the stay.”

“Four stars because I always have a good time here and the regulars are friendly. Th3 bartender I had yesterday poured plenty of vodka in my drinks which I appreciated. It's not a fancy bar, and smells of sanitizer or something but hey...dive bars are kinda cool”

There aren't very many games but there is a good variety of games to pick from including two-player games that you can play with your kids, the workers are also super kind, After a game didn't give me all my tickets the worker was able to give me all the lost tickets. Overall this place is a great location to bring your family! 5/5 Stars.”
