“We were hiking on the Sargeant Road Trail as part of our walk across the country, and it was the day before Labor Day so the only place to eat in Hudson that was open was the Federal Pub. So we decided to go there for pizza and beer, plus we called in advance and the bartender told us that they are hiker-friendly, would let us charge our devices and fill our waters. Cool! We had a good time chatting with the locals, the food was delicious, and it was nice that they served it with a complimentary bowl of snacks kind of like Chex mix. I like how they offer mini pitchers of beer (32oz) for $5. We had a nice time.“

“A friend who I had shared with that, I had the best bar pizza in my life told that Behar Bar also served this particular pizza as well I jumped at the chance. As it turned out they were out of the supreme Pizza that I wanted. At first I was kind of bummed out but then they told me about their other specials I figured I'm already here so I might as well order. I ended up having a good Time. The place has darts to play, video poker and a bar that is stacked. The Bartender was friendly and her suggestions were on point.“

“Enjoyed my first visit to Berk's. We were there in the late afternoon and it was mostly an older crowd like ourselves. I understand that late in the evening it gets more lively with the college students. It was very pleasant, the bartender was friendly, the environment was peaceful at that time of day. The other bar patrons were friendly. They have comfortable upholstered bar stools as well as table seating. There are bags of snacks that you can buy.“

“I’ve spent some of my best nights Cypress, a staple of downtown cf and my favorite bar. Over the last 9 years since I’ve quit drinking I’ve asked for mocktails/ virgin drinks and gotten countless weird/ confused looks from bartenders at other local establishments and usually end up with a Shirley temple (no hate to Shirley, but sometimes a gal needs variety!) When I told the girls Saturday night to make me anything I was sooooo stunned and happy to get a virgin MULE! Fancy cup and all!! Those gorgeous young ladies made my night! I stayed til bar close like I was in my 20’s again. I was a life long customer for the nostalgia alone but I’m even more in love with the place than I was when I was drinking.“

There's always a cheap beer for those with just a few bucks in their pocket; and plenty of crafts for a few bucks more. They recently expanded their space adding some food items in the process. Popcorn is always available for those with munchies. Lots of regulars for sure. Guests should feel welcome. If you don't bump into a friend...you can quickly make one at the bar. “Whenever we are in Cedar Falls, we always make sure to stop at the Landmark. The friendly atmosphere will warm your soul, or maybe that's just the good brews that the incredible staff serves. Inside, there is plenty of seating at the bar or at high top tables. Play some tunes, Buck Hunter, or darts! Outside, the patio has several tables to enjoy your favorite sport on TV or you play giant Jenga! Definitely a place I recommend everyone to check out!“

“It’s old and it can be depressing but the people are nice and most have calluses on their hands from the blue collar job they retired from. Friday nights and every other Wednesday is karaoke and it’s actually a very good time. Brenda has worked here for 30 years and now is the proprietor of the place. She’s doing a little work here and there to spiffy up the place. The hey day of folks cocktailing here and the phone ringing saying your table is ready at the Hickory House may be over but Brenda is doing it right in a part of town that doesn’t get much love.“

“I love this bar. It's got a Great Jukebox, several pool tables, a heated outdoor smoking area for the less pleasant times of the Iowan Weather. Great Prices on Domestic Cans and Bottled Beers. Plus what you'd expect to pay for mixed drinks, with a good pour!! And my personal favorite about BJ's is that I can go have a relaxing drink in complete anonymity, which is worth paying a nonexistent cover charge for. Any time I want to have a couple drinks and not be bothered by anyone in the place. Let alone some drunk who thinks he remembers me from somewhere else a long time ago. For ME, it's the opposite of Cheers, where I can go, and no one knows my name. And for that, I tip very well.Took my daughter in tonight, something I never thought I would do in my lifetime. Played some pool on the same tables, with possibly the same sticks, on definitely the same felt well rolled upon cloth pool tables lol the Drinks were still very good, and the Little Blonde bartender was a sweetheart of a gal.
