“Drive thru at this McDonalds is the way to go. Eating inside is fine too, but this store never really messes up my orders, the food is always HOT, and I love that. The workers are great listeners when taking the orders. This store just nails performance over all. They need to start selling Chicken McGriddles again, and then it would be a perfect score for them.“

“I spoke with 2 people yesterday who assured me that my complaint and refund would be handled in a timely manner by the location that the problem occurred and still have not been contacted. I was on a road trip home and stopped at a location near Des Moines, Iowa. We stopped on 3/11/2025. I placed an order online at 4:22 pm. We pulled in shortly after and proceeded to follow the instructions of pulling into a stall, checking in on the app and putting in the stall number. The progress bar showed the order was sent to the kitchen. About 20 minutes had gone by and still no food had come out, the drive thru line was moving slowly, so I didn't want to bother the employees if they were short staffed or overwhelmed. 40 minutes had now gone by and I decided to hit the red order/call button. After about 2 or 3 minutes, a lady got on the intercom and asked what I wanted. I proceeded to explain I had checked in for a mobile order and then she right away told me to come inside. I thought that was a bit strange since it's employees only and the kitchen where non-workers should not be allowed for sanitary reasons. Once I came in, she asked what I wanted to order. I explained that I had placed a mobile order and had been waiting 40 minutes. She then scrolls through the screen and tells me that they don't have ice cream. If they knew this as soon as the order was sent, why did someone not come out and tell us. 2 items that were placed had ice cream in it, so I asked if they could just refund those. She then tells me that they can't refund anything and that I would have to request it in the app. I then ask if I can just get a soda to replace the specialty float they couldn't make. She reluctantly said yes after asking if I was going to request a refund for both items they didn't have. After explaining that I have been waiting for 40 minutes, not one of the 4 employees in the store offered an apology or an explanation why my food and drinks had been sitting and not brought out. The girl who initially told me to come inside, instead of grabbing the drinks and handing me my food, she proceeds to complain about the shift and tells the other employees to clean up and she leaves. The guy working the drive thru is saying how the day had been slow, which if that's the case, why am I being asked to come into the kitchen to grab my own food after 40 minutes. I eventually had to ask for my bag of food and multiple drinks because, although it's painfully obvious that I am inside the location that I should not be in, waiting for food that apparently has been made but nobody wanted to bring out, even though that is their litteral job. I get my food and by the time I get back to my car after all is said and done, it has now been 50 minutes from the time I placed my order. Needless to say, the food was cold, soggy and gross and the drinks were completely watered down. But after the interaction that was just had, I wasn't about to ask for it to be remade because at this point I had been in my car with 4 kids driving already for 6 hours, with 4 more to go and this had already set us back almost an hour longer than planned. I contacted someone by phone as well as the texting option and both stated they could not process a refund but would escalate my complaint and have the management contact me. I stated multiple times I did not wish to speak with anyone from the stores location due to the extreme unprofessionalism of the staff. The food was not able to be eaten on top of items I did not receive and feel that it is more than reasonable to expect a full refund.“

They called to tell us that before we even had a chance to believe there was a problem, and fully communicated what the issue was. They remade our order and it was delivered less than a half hour after they discovered the issue. Superior customer service. Highly recommend.“

“We were in Des Moines for a soccer tournament and ran across you guys. I was diagnosed with celiac 3 years ago and you guys made hands down the best GF burger and tots I have had in 3 years. “First time eating here. Friendly staff, fast service, reasonable prices, generous portions and delicious burgers and fries. I enjoyed the mushroom Swiss burger with perfectly seasoned crinkle fries. Our daughter is home from college, and she told us that’s the best burger she’s had in a long time. She had the bacon cheeseburger. Hubby had the double cheeseburger, it looked great too. He must’ve enjoyed it, he ate the whole thing! Glad we found this place, we will be back.“

“The hostess and waitress were very attentive and pleasant. I can't wait to go there again! Plus, the cook(s) did a great job preparing my Protein Pancakes and turkey bacon. BTW, the pancakes were 660 calories and turkey bacon was only 110! I got satisfied without a huge calorie binge. Love this IHOP!! 😁“

The skin was very crisp, the chicken was juicy, the sauce was very nice, and the fries tasted really good with the ranch sauce.“

“Looking for a good “Chicken Breast Sandwich,” or A “tasty Barbecue Bacon Burger” with delicious toppings the drive up to B-Bops on 73rd is the place. All fast foods may have the same name, but the staff and the care for the signature product may be different. At 73rd the staff cares about the presentation of the product as well as assembling a well made entree. The flavors are on an average on par thanks to management making sure the products are fresh and the staff continuously well trained even in their appearance. It says a lot about their fast food. They care in what they deliver to you. Nice work on consistently serving up good burgers and customer service.“

Ok, for the rest of you: Ernie’s is the best bar in DSM. Cheap drinks, good atmosphere, cool bartenders, and the food truck sells great burgers. Recently the owner(s?) has/have enforced a strict playlist on the place (which is worse than letting your bartenders pick the music, if that needs spelled out), but this is a recent hiccup in a place that I frequent and love.“

“I am the type of person that loves positivity and giving great reviews. Give honor to where honor is due. And I give great reviews, call the managers and praise the service all the time. I have also had my share of terrible service and/or food and usually do not say a word. The experience I had this afternoon at Culvers in Ankeny was horrendous. The food that is. The drive through guy that took my order, payment and delivery was so kind and helpful. I ordered a cod dinner and was only able to eat some of the fish. The 2 sides I ordered were cheese curds and fries. Both were so cold, hard and dry. I was so disappointed. The roll that came with it was cold, hard and dry as well. The butter was good! I did eat most of the fish but it too was tough. WHAT has happened to Culvers? Don't they realize that they are not the only option for food? Sad to say but I will be going to those other options for my meals in the future. The concrete I ordered was sloppy (down side of cup) and melting but did taste good. I HATE leaving a poor review but come on Culvers. Do better. Be better. If it had been just 1 food this review would never have been written. Oh, side note. This was after the lunch rush and before dinner rush. It was close to 2. Got right into drive through with no waiting. Disappointed.“

“I went through the drive in and was greeted by a friendly young girl who took my order. She came back with my order within a few minutes. The order was correct and I was on my way. I had the Chicago dog w/no tomatoes. The food was wonderful, and I considered it to be a real bargain. Oh yeah, I'm coming back.“

“My wife and I went there Saturday evening for dinner, drinks, and a football game. Our waitress was outstanding! Can't remember her name but she is a 4th grade teacher.
Drinks were wonderful and lots of draft beer to choose from. We ordered a pizza and it was very good. Good enough that we are coming back Friday night to try taco pizza.

“This looks like a regular restaurant and more expensive than DQ from the outside, but was surprisingly inexpensive with meals (burger, fries, drink) ranging from packages that are $6+. The food is very similar to DQ, as well as the shakes similar to DQ blizzards, but the prices are to similar to Burger King's coupon deals and the environment like a retro 1960's restaurant. “Both the ladies in the Chrome Cafe was very professional, courteous, friendly, & with great attitude. And my order was done in a fast & timely manner that I didn't even get comfortable in my seat to wait for the order to be done. Will definitely come back to see them two again.
