“Food is always delicious! I went in after work on Mother’s Day to take home 3 orders of shrimp fajitas and the patio and tables inside were packed. Despite staff being very busy, I still got my order in 15 min and one of the teens working at the register checked on me while I waited to see if I needed anything. I’ve always had excellent service. The margaritas are delicious as well!“

We had a work celebration at Backroads Lounge in Johnston and Amigos provided our lunch (for 60) Food was fabulous and all of our team members gave rave reviews food was so good!!! “I live in Grimes but always drive over to this Panchero's location because it is night and day better than the Grimes location. It doesn't matter how long the line is, or how many online orders they also have to make, they are always fast and accurate. I'm constantly impressed by the quality of the food at this location and the service. I usually place online orders to go and have never had an issue with my order. I rarely write reviews but the Johnston Panchero's deserves it.“

“Absolutely love this place! It’s a wonderful atmosphere! I would like to point out the salsa bar! It’s amazing! Like 10 different salsa to try! The staff is absolutely wonderful! The cooks are super nice too! Always running great specials! My personal favorite is taco Tuesday. I get the shrimp tacos. SUPER GOOD! 10/10 in my book.“

“We love this restaurant! We live closer to the Clive location so we order from there all of the time, both dine in and take out. I recently also had them cater a Saturday lunch at work for us and they knocked it out of the park! Eddie is a phenomenal asset to this restaurant. Always friendly and helpful. Great rewards program as well. Highly recommended!“

“We have dined here so many times, I've lost count. Our favorites are the Chipotle fettuccine pasta, guacamole, salsa, flautas, the Las Alegres special, quesadillas, and of course, the margaritas 🍹. Small group or large, they can take care of your table without missing a beat. We will be back again and again!“

“We have eaten at the Guadalajara weekly for almost 4 years now. Everyone is so friendly, the food is amazing every time, and the margaritas are fantastic. Great customer service, fantastic staff, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely recommend eating at any Guadalajara locations, but we love our Ankeny Guad 🫶🏼“

“Absolutely DELICIOUS!!! While in Ankeny today, we wanted to try something new. We went completely blind with our choice as it just happened to be near by. WOW!!! It seriously now is our favorite Mexican restaurant! We were greeted right away, and noticed when walking to our table how clean the restaurant is and impressed with the open kitchen! The service was TOP NOTCH! Delicious food. Great prices on lunch menu, plus still left with leftovers to have tonight. HIGHLY recommend! It is nearly an hour from our home, however we will be back often!!! R“

“Whatever cheese they use is absolutely amazing. That's one of the key factors to making a great tacowhether it's chicken, beef, or steak. Also, the tortillas they sell are amazing and go fantastic with their signature salsa, but that's the tacos, as for the burritos, I was not that big of a fan(i have not tried the nacho or enchiladas). The great thing about this place is that a lot of the food is really easy to grab, go, and eat, and it is indeed tasty. This is a weird situation where the burritos are cheaper and actually less filling than the tacos. I was not a fan of the sour cream coming in packets, instead of them being able to put it on the tacos themselves or just give me a side of what would seem like fresh sour cream. The service isn't bad, but it's not over the top, great either. The food does come out fairly fast, and they keep things simple, so you don't have too much to complain about. I really like the taco shop because it's not too pricey, it's simple (so good for children), and as it says in the name, it's tasty!
Soon, they will be moving to their own building across the street from their current plaza that they're in.“

“The food at Monterrey tastes good, and the service is certainly decent enough. The restaurant, like many chain Mexican restaurants, goes a bit over the top with 'decorations' that are just a little too stereotyped.
I got the chicken fajita this evening, and while good, the amount of chicken in the mix was a bit low. I understand that it's the most expensive part of the meal, but there are several other Mexican places in town that have fajitas for the same price, or even cheaper, and that regularly give notably more chicken than they did.
Overall, while tasty, I felt the food was a bit expensive given how little meat was actually in the fajita mix.“

They have the most authentic tacos ever, reminding me so much of SoCal, my home state. They do NOT put potatoes in your food! When I'm close enough to them in the area, they are the first place I hit for, SOFT CHICKEN STREET TACOS and they have the BEST *HOT* SAUCE EVER to go onto your tacos!“

“I came by yesterday on lunch break from a local training. I had intended on eating there but as it got closer to my hour being up, I knew I’d need to take it with me. There was only one person working and there were a handful of tables so I understood. They quickly boxed it up. I did have chips and salsa while I waited and it was really good! The salsa was super fresh! I ordered the Elote and two of the chorizo street tacos. They were both phenomenal. They even came with two small cups of the sauce for the tacos. One was a verde and the other was a smokey, much spicier sauce but they both were super good! I will definitely be going back and bringing my kiddos as they love Mexican food as much as I do!“

“In our group, people varied on their opinions of the food from good to excellent. Chips were tasty. Salsa was good. Queso was good but not special. I considered the shredded chicken in the tacos to be very good. One person was into the chili relleno but not the beef enchilada. Pollo loco was the most enjoyed meal of the group. Portions are large. The service was on top of it.“

“Omg!!! Excellent food! Tonight I am having the shrimp bowl. Wonderful super tasty guacamole and the pins colada is to die for. Owner is so friendly, same with wait staff. Clean, comfortable. Highly recommend!
