“It definitely has changed from when I have been there years ago, but it's definitely for the better. Whe. You walk in its nice and open on the right to have conversations you can hear and pool tables on the right. It now has a jukebox (it's what I still call it) and no longer a stage. You can tell that business is not as busy since the changes, hopefully it picks back up for whoever the brave bar owner is. The bar staff ,she was happy,honest and just plain people's, with drinks with perfect mixtures, that make you feel relaxed and at home.“

“Great little place. Definitely for the Cubs fans. Great variety of bomb drinks. I had the Capri sun and that's exactly what it tasted like. Black cherry rum with an orange monster Delicious. Bartender was great, friendly and helpful. Will be going back when we are in town again.“

“The staff & the regulars are super friendly. The bartenders remember my name & what I like to drink. Sometimes I don't even have to ask. 😁 This is a great place to go hang with friends or by yourself. If you do go in by yourself, it won't be long before someone strikes up a conversation.“

“Love the bar, free pool on Sundays, weekly specials, and friendly bartender. The reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is because the dj sucks. He takes a lot of smoke break, his mic smells like stale cigarettes, he sings the longest songs taking away time from the customers that are there to sing, and his equipment needs better sound quality. It drowns out the singer. So other than needing a new dj I say it’s a great place to visit!“

“Ate here a couple of weeks back on a Friday night. Have experienced bad service and mediocre food from other locations, decided to give Applebee's one more shot. Did not disappoint. From the fresh salad to the entree, everything was great. Will definitely be back.“

However; I noticed the tablets you pay on only offer up to 5% suggested tip. I’m hoping this is a mistake overlooked by management bc their servers deserve those numbers to say 18%, 20%, and 22%“

“They used to have bands here but now I think they're embracing the neighborhood bar persona. I really think it's the best non Irish bar pints of Guinness in Des Moines. Food is always good there. seems to be an older crowd there usually. Also i once had a gin martini there that was out of this world!“

“We had a small party for my mom's birthday this evening and we were pleasantly surprised with how the entire evening went. CJ was the gentleman helping us, he was AMAZING. He interacted with everyone, including all of our crazy children running all around the room. He was very polite and even volunteered to get a group picture of all of us! Customer service experiences will make or break places, but because of CJ, we will most definitely be back!!“

“I ordered A cup of soup and a side salad. I was told that the soup was a brothy soup and wouldn't have any type of thickener in it. Since I'm gluten free, that's what I needed. Unfortunately, when the cup of soup came it was not brothy. It was a thick soup. One of the people that I was with ordered some type of salmon I believe it was, it was so spicy she couldn't eat it. I didn't think the food was anything fantastic. The service was good in the atmosphere was good.“

“Hi always come here when I want to go to a sports bar when I am in town. Especially since it is relatively convenient to where I normally stay at the Holiday Inn. But nothing really special to say about it, except it's got lots of televisions, and it is a regular sports bar with lots of seating, and it gets crowded when there's a game that people in Des Moines are interested in. I just wish that they had PBR on tap, or maybe the High Life“

My whole family loved this place - their wings were excellent (hot buffalo), my kids got a sandwich and sweet potato fries- both of which were very good!
Our server was perfectly attentive and helpful!
Definitely plan to return to this place!“

“Visited 1908 tonight to watch Monday night football and the food and service were amazing!!! Our server Meg was so personable and attentative! Love their menu and atmosphere.
