“2 of the younger female workers were very sweet, and made a good sandwich. The AC was not working and it was about 85 degrees in there. For $10/hr I would have went home. I worked at Subway when I was in college, 10 years ago and the pay rate was $10 an hour then. The workers deserve more money. You cannot make a living at $10 an hour in 2026, you can barely make a living at $25 an hour in 2026. Do better Subway! No wonder they’re going out of business! I will continue to get lunch at this subway just to support the workers and give them a good tip, because they deserve it. but to be honest, $15 for a sandwich is outrageous, especially if they can’t afford to pay their employees decent.“

“I went to Kalona as a tourist. As a vegetarian, I usually get the veggie patty, which this location, regrettably, did not have available. However, one of the employees heard that I was looking for some Amish settlements, and she gave me directions. Since I had to go on dirt roads with few road signs, I did not get where I was hoping. After about 1.5h, I returned to the same Subway restaurant to use their facilities. The employee asked me if I found what I was looking for. And when I told her that I couldn't find the settlements, she said that it was the end of her shift and told me to follow her car. That was an amazing and unexpected customer service.
