The best place to eat. The music is great. The staff is great and owner is late today. Well we all get older and I'm sure it's the weather. From a long ways to eat here again and just as I remembered without the boss. Highly recommended for all to eat here. Kp
A breif aside before the main reveiw: American Classics takes credit cards. I note this because several restaurants in Spencer are cash/check only.American classic is exactly what its name implies, a traditional American diner. The service is fast and friendly while the food is excellent within the American style. I came for breakfast and had perhaps the best chicken fried steak I've ever eaten. Our party of four stopped in for lunch. The Cafe is easy to get to. We arrived at a busy time around noon but got seated fairly quickly. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. Other items in our party were soup and salad, chicken sandwich and a breakfast order of pancakes, hash browns, bacon and omelette. My burger and fries were pretty good. I tried the tortilla soup also. It was spiced nicely. The small salad was good too. Our server Mariana was very very good.
